The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller paired with the Xbox Accessories app gives you nearly unlimited ways to play. Create and edit configuration profiles for any number of gaming scenarios—one for the way you play Halo, another for fighting in Killer Instinct, and still another for how you drive in Forza. The app lets you store up to 256 different configurations in the app and save 2 of them to your controller at a time. Switch between them using the profile switch at the top of the controller. Since the 2 configurations are stored on the controller, they'll be at your fingertips whether you're using it at home, a friend's house, or a tournament. Buttons and paddles are fully customizable for each configuration. Choose from 14 digital inputs for each button. You can also assign the same action to multiple buttons. For example, use either the bumper or paddle to throw a grenade in Halo. The app lets you edit each button one by one, or review and remap multiple buttons at once. In addition to button mapping, you can select a sensitivity curve to fine-tune how physical movement of the thumbsticks translates to on-screen movement and control. For example, if you're playing an FPS game as a sniper, you might want to reduce initial sensitivity for slower aiming, but allow a fast response to react to an enemy sneaking up behind you. You can also adjust trigger set points. Floor it instantly in Forza. Or, give your trigger a bit of a dead zone to more easily feather the gas. In shooters, add a dead zone to prevent misfires or go the other way and make it a hair-trigger. That's not all. You've got 4 vibration sliders to adjust just how your controller gives you feedback. Swap left and right thumbsticks. Even the brightness of the Xbox button is yours to control. To start, we'll give you some recommended configurations, plus some game-based settings straight from the developers. Of course, you can always can jump right in with your own settings. It's all up to you.

Doesn't Detect my controller.
It doesn't see my controller no matter how I connect / disconnect it. I can still control the menu. I know it's connected and the computer sees the controller.

Not connect to my controller.
I don't know why the app cannot find my controller which is connected by USB. All things are good, but the app still shows that you need to connect a controller.

bricked my controller?
I have been using an elite controller for some time now. decided to try the app to customize. first thing, it said the controller needed to be updated. it ran, then said it could not update the controller. the controller turns on and windows makes a connection sound. but the app and my games don't see the controller now.

Bricked my Controller.
I just updated to the latest version to play Halo 5. I then downloaded this app and began the firmware update, and then the app suddenly closed. Now my controller doesn't work at all and is just a $40 paperweight on my desk. Thanks Microsoft.

More useful than some realize.
This app is essential to updating the firmware on normal Xbox One Wireless Controllers if you don't own an Xbox One. And if you have one of these controllers, firmware updates is ALL that this app does. Useful and essential, but really needs to be rolled into the standard Xbox application. This doesn't need a new app.

What it could be and what it is are worlds apart!
I paid $150+ for this controller. The beauty, quality, and aesthetics of the Elite Controller are 100% on the money! The controller looks amazing, is heavy and durable and feels unlike any controller that I have ever held! That is where the greatness of this controller stop. This app is useless for one who doesn't have an Xbox One. I own a high-end gaming rig that I built myself and I thought that owning the Elite Controller would give me an extra edge in gaming by giving me the ability to customize each button input. Its as if Microsoft forgot about PC gamers altogether when creating this app. That is strange because Microsoft specifically stated that this controller would be Windows 10 friendly. Which it is, but that is all. FRIENDLY. not USEFUL. If button mapping were 100% keyboard friendly this app would be unbelievable and up the sales for this controller through the roof!

The Xbox One controller is already a pretty solid piece of hardware, improving on the Xbox 360's controller that became the industry standard. Somehow, Microsoft managed even further improvement in the form of the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller.
There's swappable thumbsticks and directional pads that offer up a better feel than the standard Xbox One controller, as well as quick-hit triggers to help out in the most high-impact shooters. While it's pretty pricy for a pad at almost three times the cost of a standard controller, you definitely get what you pay for with this premium piece of hardware.

Awesome, durable.
These lasted me for years (since high school, now in college) and i'm just barely having to buy new ones. The reason they lasted me so long is because I would really only use it on the right stick as that's the one I aim with, so when the grip started to wear off, I just replaced it with the other one that I had stored and I could keep using them. They did improve my accuracy and now I can't play without them.

Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Elite Wireless Controller for the Xbox One is due to ship on October 27, but the company is already working with third-parties so they can offer accessories for the gamepad.
"Last week we announced an exclusive partnership with Scuf Gaming to create add-ons for the Elite Controller. While we work with Scuf Gaming to develop those designs, we are pleased to announce a limited run of Halo 5: Guardians Component Kits from PowerA which includes themed thumbsticks, paddles, and D-pads for $29.99 MSRP. PowerA is also shipping a Charging Stand for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller for $39.99 MSRP which includes a 1400mAh battery and an extra battery door for easy, direct-contact charging on the stand. The Charging Stand will start shipping this month, while the Component Kit will ship in early December."

Absolutely excellent addition to my Xbox the only . reason i didn't give 5 stars was due to xbox not supporting the recording of programmes. You can pause live TV though. I went with this option due to cancelling Sky and wanting to utilize the Xbox's audio processing for my surround sound. A great buy.

Simply unplugging the usb out then in cures it but still annoying. This can be random and may just be this model. In the main though a great little gadget.
