So apart from the obvious storage difference, is there any other differences between the two models? Such as the performance or anything else, such as exclusive features to the new model? If the main difference is the memory, then it would be easier for me to just get the old model and expansion memory. Good question, I know the new 1TB PS4 has been said to be quieter, lighter and more efficient compared to the 500GB versions. Not sure if the same applies to the Xbox One, but I'd be surprised if all they added was more memory without tweaking a few things. Having said that the Xbox One is already whisper quiet (mine is at least) and you should have no problems if you choose to go with the 500GB one. If it were my hard earned cash I would get me the cheapest I can find while I save to get me a monster sized external HDD. As far as we know it's just a bigger HD. I'm sure some details would've surfaced by now if it had other changes to it (like PS4). Pretty sure there is no internal difference besides the extended HD. Regarding the machine, the differences between Xbone models are answered in the title of this thread. Doesn't the 1TB console come with the new controller? The one with the 3.5" headphone jack? Doesn't the 1TB console come with the new controller? The one with the 3.5" headphone jack? Yes that is correct I believe. I've owned both, having picked up the 1tb model about a month ago (got a ridiculous deal). As far as I can tell the only functional differences are the larger internal HDD and the updated controller (better bumpers and 3.5mm jack). There are a few cosmetic differences as well. The left side of the console is matte, as opposed to glossy like the 500gb model. As well, the chrome colored trim around the disc drive found on the 500gb is black on the 1tb model. @thecouchpotater : Interesting, thanks for sharing your first hand experiences with the console. From what i understood, these new 1TB PS4 models are only available in Japan, for now. Those same 1TB models which are available in europe are the same as 500GB ones, the only difference is storage size. Not important to OP but it`s worth mentioning. @alex839 : Is there a link to this information? That's interesting, because they said they would ship these new 1TB consoles to Japan and Europe first before anywhere else, so I'd imagine pretty much all the new 1TB PS4's offer these improvements. If not that would seem pretty stupid, no? @BattleSpectre : Here`s the link mate: http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/sony-announces-a-1tb-ps4-and-one-that-s-slightly-lighter-1297405. @alex839 : Is there a link to this information? Most people i know say Xbox one was alot more silent that PS4 you can hardly notice it running. I certainly hope the revision to the PS4 hardware makes a difference as far as the noise goes. I've had two PS4's which were both several times louder than the three Xbox One's I've owned. I've tried everything short of case modding or water cooling to quiet them down to no avail. Definitely my #1 complaint with the PS4. Xbox One S 1TB and 500GB console UK price, release date and FIFA 17 bundles revealed. Microsoft’s slimmed-down Xbox One S is now official. Here’s where to buy it, including all the best deals and cheapest bundles for the 500GB, 1TB and 2TB Xbox One S now it’s started shipping and is set to release in the UK shortly – plus the hottest bundles. As expected, the Xbox One S was unveiled not long ago, and Microsoft’s new slimmed down console has proven immensely popular with gamers – so much so that it’s been nigh on impossible to order one, especially here in the UK. We recently learnt that the intermittently available 2TB Xbox One S console was an exclusive launch edition, which made the fact that we knew little to nothing about the UK availability of the 500GB and 1TB consoles. Some light has now been shed, with Microsoft announcing over at Gamescom in Germany that the UK and Europe will see the less capacious One S machines released on September 22, with the 500GB Xbox One S priced at £249 and the 1TB version selling for £299. Microsoft also revealed that a FIFA 17 bundle would form part of its initial offering, which can only be a good thing, though further details are still scant – other than the price and release date, we haven’t heard any additional pre-order details. How to Buy the Xbox One S – Best UK Deals. Limited stock and high demand of the Xbox One S has most of the usual go to suppliers as currently out of stock of the console. We’re still waiting to hear more about availability of the 500GB and 1TB consoles, but right now a few retailers have the 2TB Xbox One S back in stock, including the eagerly anticipated Gears of War 4 Limited Edition hardware. As of August 16, that’s available to reserve from GAME and Argos for £400 – which actually isn’t that bad of a buy when you consider that unscrupulous third-party sellers are flogging the 2TB variant for up to £500 without a game, let alone the sweet custom designed console. Alternatively, Zavvi has a 2TB Xbox One S console sans game on the block for the normal £350 asking price, and it’s apparently shipping immediately: A variety of other UK retailers have also offered the One S in the past, so it’s worth checking out the following outlets as well, unfortunately many outlets are now listing the console as out of stock: How to Buy the Xbox One S – Best US Deals. The Xbox One S is similarly sought after in the States and expected shipping dates have been appropriately adjusted – unless you staked your claim early on and pre-ordered, you’re unlikely to be getting one in the immediate. But the deals are arguably a bit better over the pond and you can choose from all three storage models, provided you’re happy to wait. The best value is probably the pair of new Xbox One S bundles just announced by Microsoft in the US. These feature a 1TB console, new release game or collection of classics, and will set you back at most $350 – that’s about £265 before VAT and not adjusting for the current state of the UK economy. Choose from either Madden 17 or the cheaper Halo Collection package: The Xbox One S is also still available from Amazon US in all its variants: Xbox One S in brief. The main differences between the Xbox One and the Xbox One S are that the latter is 40% smaller and supports both 4K and HDR video (but not 4K gaming). It’s not more powerful, comes in three storage variants ( 500GB/1TB/2TB ), and has a an all-new bundled wireless Xbox One controller. Xbox One S vs Xbox One: Is it worth buying either console with Xbox One X now the most powerful console on the market? TrustedReviews has collected everything you need to know. Xbox One S isn’t a significant upgrade over the Xbox One, but does provide some cool benefits. Owners now have access to HDR support and a 4K blu-ray player, something PS4 Pro sorely left out. To put things simply, if you already own the original console there isn’t much incentive to upgrade. Sure, there’s the addition of HDR and 4K blu-ray support, but you’ll need an impressive 4KTV to make any use of these features. If you don’t already own one, though, it’s definitely worth considering a purchase. However, with Xbox One X out now, it makes things a little more complicated. TrustedReviews has broken down everything you need to know about the two consoles below, for anybody considering picking it up. Xbox One S Price: How much should you pay? With the Xbox One now discontinued and Microsoft continuing with the two main consoles of One S and One X, the One S has become significantly cheaper. Bundles are available for as littles as £200, which could go lower in sales. Xbox One S is 40% smaller with built-in power supply. The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the original – a considerable reduction. Given that the original Xbox One is a chunky machine – at 333mm x 276mm x 78mm, it dominates the comparatively slight PS4 – this is an important change. However, PS4 Slim gives Xbox One S a run for its money in terms of sheer dimensions. Plus the power supply is now built-in. So, 40% smaller and no bulky power supply? That’s a pretty big tick in favour of the Xbox One S. 4K Ultra HD, 4K Blu-ray and High Dynamic Range support. Arguably the standout feature for Xbox One S. Not only does the Xbox One S support 4K video playback from streaming services like Netflix and Amazon, it’s also a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. This makes the $299/£249 starting price excellent value compared to dedicated Ultra HD players currently available. Our testing suggests the Xbox One S is a more than competent Ultra HD Blu-ray player, so AV fans should hold no fears in that regard. While the original Xbox One is technically capable of supporting 4K gaming and video, it has an HDMI 1.4a port, meaning it can only output 4K at 30Hz, which is very limiting. The Xbox One adds support for HDMI 2.0a, so it now supports proper 4K 60Hz output. Sign up for the newsletter. Get news, competitions and special offers direct to your inbox. Xbox One S has a slight performance bump. Much like PS4 Pro, the Xbox One S is not the beginning of a new console generation, but an expansion of a platform we already know and love. But it does offer a very slight improvement over its predecessor. The Coalition head Rod Fergusson revealed to Polygon that his team had taken advantage of additional raw GPU and CPU power for Gears of War 4 , to improve frame rates. Ferguson claimed his engineers have been able to, as Polygon puts it, “leverage the additional power to reduce the frequency of the frame rate or resolution penalties.” A Microsoft spokesperson then confirmed, via The Verge, “We have the same SoC architecture as Xbox One today. “For games that want to take advantage of HDR, we gave developers access to a small amount of additional processing power.” Overall though, don’t expect games to look noticeably different on Xbox One S to Xbox One thanks to the additional power, instead only getting minor stability improvements. Xbox One S can upscale games to 4K. The upscaling capabilities of the Xbox One S were revealed by Jeff Henshaw, Group Program Manager at Xbox at an E3 session . Henshaw said: “It’s not native 4K, but the Xbox One S can upscale games from 1080p to 4K.” It means the Xbox One S will be able to offer gaming at a higher resolution than its predecessor, although it won’t quite be as good as native 4K. In our review, we found the Xbox One S is good at upscaling games and 4K video content – better than the TV we tested on. It can be stored upright. That’s great news, though the stand is an optional extra, unless you buy the 2TB model, which includes a stand. There’s no dedicated Kinect port. Not a huge surprise, given its increasing irrelevance, though owners who want to use Kinect can do say via a USB adapter. The adapter is sold seperately and can be ordered directly from Microsoft. Don’t expect any new Kinect games on the horizon, though. But there is an IR blaster. In the place of a dedicated Kinect port, the Xbox One S comes with an integrated IR (infrared) blaster. That means you can configure your Xbox One S to turn on other devices, like your TV, audio/video receiver, and cable or satellite receiver. The idea is that you can reduce the number of remotes you need to control your stuff. New controller adds Bluetooth. Not content with the already excellent Xbox One controller, or the incredible Xbox One Elite Controller, Microsoft’s unveiled the Xbox One S controller as well. The pad has a new textured grip, exchangeable colour covers, extended range and – most importantly – now has Bluetooth so you can use it with a PC wirelessly. Xbox One S vs Xbox One: Should you upgrade? There’s no doubt the new Xbox One S is a better all around console than its predecessor. Not only does it slim down the original console’s bulky frame, the Xbox One S comes with a load of features that make a far more desirable device. Firstly, you get a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Currently, those things will cost you upwards of £400 on their own. Secondly, you can stream 4K at the proper 60 Hz in HDR from apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video. Plus, there’s even a slight performance boost. The console benefits from extra processing power, too. It probably isn’t worth it for most Xbox One owners if you don’t care about 4K video, but it looks like a good upgrade if you fancy getting into Ultra HD Blu-ray. And if you don’t already own an Xbox One, the smaller size and great features make it very tempting indeed. But what about Xbox One X? While at the tail end of 2016 the choice between the two consoles seemed like a no-brainer, as we move closer the the supposed “holiday 2017” launch date of the Xbox One X, the proposition becomes even trickier. There’s still so much we don’t know about Microsoft’s all-powerful machine – most importantly, how much it will cost – but the fact this unit will represent a significant upgrade over anything that has come before it means that the idea of buying an Xbox One as a first-time buyer now becomes a bit of a tough sell. With Microsoft fully unveiling the Xbox One X at E3, it’s now easier decide whether you’re willing to wait for the next big thing. Will you be buying or upgrading to an Xbox One S? Let us know in the comments.

Xbox one s 500gb oder 1tb

Still have a question? Ask your own! What kind of gamer are you? Do you play games one (or a few) at a time all the way through and then move on to others when you’re finished? If so, a 500GB drive would probably work for you. If you don’t play that way, the 500GB may fill up very quickly. Many games are BIG as others have pointed out, and many games must be installed, so even if you don’t download games you’ll still need a lot of space. For example, listed below are my top five space hogs; I own physical copies of all of these except for Dragon Age: Inquisition: Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited 79.49GB. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 67.51GB. Dragon Age: Inquisition 48.45GB. Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY 36.90. If you think 500GB is too small, you can either buy a system with a 1TB drive or replace the 500GB hard drive yourself with something larger. Sony fully supports the second option, and even provides instructions on how to do this on their website. My husband and I recently swapped out the 500GB drive for a 2TB drive. It wasn’t difficult and I am very happy with my new abundance of space. In other languages. The price will reduce on the 500GB version and the new one will settle in at the old one's price range. 1) The last of US - 48GB. 2) The Witcher 3 - 35GB (approx) 3) MGS V : TPP - 35GB (approx guess) 4) Batman Arkham Knight - 50 - 60GB. I’d recommend you first figure out if you’re really going to take advantage, or require, extra storage. If you’re going to purchase a good quantity of game titles (at least 6 or 7), then you’ll most likely require more than the 500GB. My recommendation, if you are going to up the capacity, is to get the 500GB version, and also purchase a 2TB laptop hard-drive to swap out and an enclosure for the 500GB hard-drive you’ll be pulling out of the PS4 (so you can use it as an extra external HDD). Ideally this should be done after initializing the PS4, but before you install any games into it (to avoid having to back-up your game saves and other data). The only thing you’ll need to do would be to download the PS4’s latest firmware into an external USB device in order to install the PS4 firmware and operating system onto the new hard-drive once that’s installed. This same procedure is something I’m planning on doing as soon as I save up the cash to get that 2TB hard-drive… I have one digital game and three other games installed and my system is telling me I have about 200GB of free space left. The only other app I have installed is Netflix. Updated: Xbox One S vs Xbox One - Which Xbox is best? The new Xbox is here, so it's time to make a decision. The Xbox One S is finally here - well the monster 2TB version at least - and it's pretty awesome. It's the replacement to the original Xbox One and comes with some new features that might interest those who haven't yet jumped on the Xbox One train or even those just looking for an even better console. Before you splash some cash though, we thought you'd like to see how the Xbox One S measures up against the original Xbox One. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - RELEASE DATE. If you bought an Xbox One at launch, we're coming up to the three-year anniversary in November, which means that your Xbox One might be getting on a bit. The Xbox One S is designed to bridge the gap between the original console and the super-powered, 4K-focused Project Scorpio that's due out at the end of 2017. The Xbox One S 2TB model is out now, priced at £349.99. There's no word on when the 1TB or 500GB versions of the Xbox One S will arrive. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - PRICE. You can pick up an original Xbox One with a game for around £250 nowadays, although that's usually the 500GB version, which is a little on the small side for games nowadays. The Xbox One S will launch in three variants, depending on the hard drive size you want. The 2TB launch edition is £349, while the 1TB edition is £299 and the 500GB edition is £249. Retailers are currently only selling the 2TB console, which is available now. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - DESIGN. The biggest design change for the Xbox One S is its size. It's actually 40% smaller than the original Xbox One and has finally integrated the power brick into the console itself. That means there's a lot less bulk all round. We always thought the 333mm x 276mm x 78mm dimensions of the Xbox One were far too huge, but we've not had any fan issues with our one yet - unlike our launch PS4. The Xbox One S is a far more svelte 297mm x 232mm x 65mm, which actually makes it a smidgen smaller than the PS4. So, smaller console and no power brick? That's certainly a win for the Xbox One S. But that's not all. It can also stand vertically, unlike the original console, which may come as quite the welcome news to some people who like to have a vertical console. You will have to buy the vertical stand separately though, unless you're buying the 2TB console. It's a good-looking machine. The Xbox One S still has three USB ports, just like the current model. It also still features an IR Blaster and the paring button has been moved to the front of the console rather than being hidden around the side like before, along with one USB port. The Kinect Port is missing on the Xbox One S though, so you'll need to purchase an adapter if you want to take part in some motion-gaming or utilise voice commands without a headset on Xbox One S. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - FEATURES. But it's not just about the design - although that is a very appealing quality of the Xbox One S. Microsoft's slimline Xbox One also has some other features up its sleeve that might appeal to gamers looking to be on the cutting edge without having to move to PC. For one, the Xbox One S now supports High Dynamic Range technology or HDR, which allows you to play games with richer and more luminous colours. The feature won't actually be utilised until September for games though, as Forza Horizon 3 is the first game to support HDR. Gears of War 4 , along with a number of other future titles yet to be announced, will also be HDR ready. Then you've got the Ultra HD 4K support. With the Xbox One S you'll be able to stream 4K content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video and other sources, as well as watching Ultra HD 4K Blu-rays just by pushing them in the disc drive. The Xbox One S adds support for HDMI 2.0a too, which means it's capable of pushing out proper 4K 60Hz output for video content. This is a great boon for AV lovers as a standalone 4K Blu-ray player costs a lot more than the Xbox One S, so you're getting a lot more bang with your buck here. That's a lot more graphical power than the original Xbox One. Another win for the One S. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - GAMES. Several developers have already said they'll be taking advantage of the new HDR technology, including Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 , but that doesn't mean that the Xbox One S is in a league of its own in terms of games. All your existing games and content will work on the new Xbox One S. It's more of a family affair than a new console really, you just get the added extras if you upgrade or decide to by the Xbox One S. XBOX ONE S VS XBOX ONE - ACCESSORIES. Then there's the accessories. It's the same story here. All your existing kit will work with the new Xbox One S, although you will need an adaptor if you want to use the Kinect as the new console doesn't have the proprietary Kinect port. However, even though you'll need to do that, there's a brand new accessory that you'll get with the Xbox One S - the new Xbox One Wireless Controller. This new pad is a streamlined version of the original Wireless controller, but it's got a few tweaks that give it the edge. For one, it's got the same rear textured grip as the stunning Xbox One Elite Controller. But it's also got twice the wireless range of the original pad thanks to Bluetooth support. That means you can get further away from your Xbox One S - and your big-ass TV - without risk of losing your connection or impacting your gameplay in any way. The analogue sticks have been tweaked slightly too to reduce wear over time, which is always a good thing. No-one likes a wornout thumbstick. 79CE8C7E-5C9C-4DEF-BB15-2756F33F3459 Created with sketchtool. DIGITAL SPY, PART OF THE HEARST UK ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK. Xbox One Elite Console Review. Aiming to be the Rolls Royce of Xbox Ones in a sea of Ford and Chevy bundles and deals, the Xbox One Elite Console offers a premium alternative at a premium $499 price: a 1TB Xbox One – complete with a solid state hybrid drive (SSHD) – paired with Microsoft’s upscale Elite controller. But thanks mostly to optimizations and efficiencies gained from the New Xbox One Experience dashboard, the Elite’s minimal hardware benefits aren’t enough to make it an easy recommendation. Microsoft definitely earns points for presentation when you open the Elite’s box. The beautiful, brilliant Elite controller sits nestled in a cardboard recess on the right side, with the high-performance gamepad’s Xbox nexus-branded neoprene case just below it. A cardboard-sheathed compartment containing the power brick, power and HDMI cables, Xbox Live chat headset, and braided 8-foot USB cable for the controller is on the left half of the tray. The console, meanwhile, sits lovingly wrapped in a black sheath underneath, like a birthday present. While the controller and its high-quality braided cable match the premium vibe of the Elite, the console itself and especially the chat headset decidedly do not. The former is just a standard black Xbox One; it has no badging or other custom look or color to signify that it’s an Elite (the original Xbox 360 Elite, for reference, was the first black 360). Meanwhile, the chat headset is the standard, flimsy unit included in every Xbox One. It’s unimpressive in any context, but it’s especially out of place here. Of course, it’s what’s inside the box that counts, and the Elite’s 1TB drive makes a big difference in a console generation where modern games are regularly 40+ gigabytes. Unfortunately, I couldn’t discern any measurable speed bonuses with the SSHD compared to the 500GB launch Xbox One I tested it against, whether I was booting up, launching a game or app, or navigating the dashboard. To be fair, Microsoft doesn’t make any lofty claims with the Elite’s unique hard drive. The only advertised benefit is a boot-up time that can be up to 20% faster which, in practical terms, is only a couple of seconds. The primary culprit here would seem to be the just-launched New Xbox One Experience operating system, aka Xbox One’s version of Windows 10. The new dash is so lean, mean, and efficient – both in a vacuum and particularly when stacked against the Metro OS it replaces – that whatever boost the SSHD provides is minimized. Still, there’s a reasonably appealing value proposition in this $499 bundle. Factor out the $150 value of the Elite controller, and you’re left with a 1TB hard drive for $349 – a $50 savings off of MSRP. The Elite, however, isn’t bundled with any games, as most $399 1TB Xbox One packages are. And then there’s the Elite controller. Since I’ve started using it, I have zero desire to ever go back. Its build quality, feel, and performance are second-to-none, and it tangibly impacts my gaming time in a positive way. Its value in this bundle cannot be understated. The Xbox One has evolved from a very good system into a fantastic one. Compared to when it launched two years ago, it’s almost a night-and-day difference, inside and, in certain cases, out. But with so many bundles and deals to be had, the Elite is not an obvious recommendation for those looking to add Microsoft’s latest to their console collection. Instead, it is no more and no less than another strong option for a potential Xbox One buyer who faces no shortage of them. The controller is the highlight of this premium Xbox One SKU.
