Xbox One Game Exclusives Confirmed for 2016.

Putting the "X" in Exclusive.
Microsoft is bringing its own unique roster of exciting exclusives to the Xbox One in 2016. With games like the latest entry of the Gears of War series and the time traveling epic Quantum Break, there's a lot to look forward to on Xbox One. Join as we run down every exclusive coming to Xbox One this year. Keep checking back as we'll update you further on more exclusives as they get announced.
Note: Some of the games listed here are also coming to Windows 10.
The Xbox One has a serious exclusive games problem.
How can Microsoft match Sony’s stellar roster?
Microsoft has given Xbox head Phil Spencer a vote of confidence, promoting him to executive vice president of gaming. In return, Spencer will be expected to solve the company’s immediate problem: The Xbox One doesn’t have enough big-name exclusives.
As we tumble into the mass-consumer era of this console generation, the Xbox One is far behind the PlayStation 4 in terms of global install base. Microsoft refuses to release hardware sales numbers, but analysts we spoke to estimate the Xbox One at around 35 million, compared to the PlayStation 4 at more than 73 million.
That yawning 2-to-1 disparity is unlikely to get better this year. A look at the two companies’ 2018 exclusives roster makes for grim reading, at least for Xbox fans.
The Xbox One’s confirmed 2018 exclusives include State of Decay 2 , Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves . These are interesting games from good studios, yet all but the most rabid of fans must admit that this is a less invigorating prospect than Sony’s solid lineup. The high-profile cancellations of two Xbox One games over the past two years, in PlatinumGames’ Scalebound and Lionhead’s Fable Legends , were blows to Microsoft’s slate of exclusives.
Spencer knows he’s got a problem. He said so himself. “Our ability to go create content has to be one of our strengths,” he told Bloomberg late last year. “We haven’t always invested at the same level. We’ve gone through ups and downs in the investment.”
Finding the games that will energize the Xbox One is going to be the biggest challenge of his long career.
Analysts’ view.
We spoke to four analysts who all agreed that Microsoft needs to act soon, and that major acquisitions are by far the most likely route.
“Microsoft recognizes this as an important issue,” said Piers Harding-Rolls, director of research and analysis at IHS. “Hence, Phil Spencer’s comments about investing more in delivering first-party content.”
“Sony’s going to be aggressive at this stage of the hardware cycle,” said SuperData Research CEO Joost van Dreunen. “It gives the impression that Microsoft’s exclusives portfolio is pretty meager. They haven’t had that consistent content agenda like Sony has and so that’s why I think they now come up [a] little short. Some of their titles didn’t perform all that well.”
Microsoft has a cash pot of at least $130 billion, boosted by recent tax cuts that heavily favor large corporations. When you consider that the market capitalization of a company like Electronic Arts is around $35 billion, it looks like a handy war chest.
“Microsoft overall had a great year,” said David Cole, owner of DFC Intelligence. “But that had nothing to do with the Xbox One. For the Xbox team, they’ve got to make some pretty big strategic decisions. They need to explain a strategy for how they can be relevant going forward in the game industry.”
Rumors of acquisitions are a perennially favorite pastime in the game industry. But with Microsoft’s exclusives problem, married to its lagging behind PlayStation and its pot of gold, the gossip has intensified recently.
Acquisition rumors.
Some of the names being thrown around as possible acquisitions by Microsoft are, frankly, astounding, even unthinkable. But the fact that they are doing the rounds is instructive. The most recent one we heard (from a reliable source close to Microsoft) was, in fact, Electronic Arts. We also heard a whisper about Valve and about Korean outfit PUBG Corp., which Microsoft last year signed to a timed exclusive for its hit survival shooter, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds .
“Because of where we are in the lifecycle of all these things, I’m expecting to hear Microsoft announce something very, very shortly,” said van Dreunen.
Another reason for optimism about an acquisition comes from internal shifts within Microsoft. Spencer was promoted in the fall to executive vice president, gaming, where he has a much bigger say over how video games fit into the company’s overall strategy.
“He came on at a time when the Xbox One was in a bad position,” said Cole. “I think he’s made the best of a bad situation. The overall strong position of the company is positive because it gives the room to invest in gaming.”
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is more enthusiastic about games and Xbox than his predecessor, Steve Ballmer, greenlighting the $2.5 billion purchase of Minecraft developer Mojang as one of his first major acquisitions in 2014.
Patchy record.
It’s worth looking at Microsoft’s patchy history of game industry acquisitions. Mojang was Microsoft’s first game studio acquisition since Lionhead in 2007. Lionhead was closed in 2016.
Prior to that, Microsoft bought Rare in 2002. Rare has proven to be a disappointment, relegated until recently to punching out Kinect games. This year, it makes something of a return with the unusual multiplayer pirate adventure Sea of Thieves .
“Sony has a lot of internal studios, and that means they are going to have more exclusive games than Microsoft,” said Michael Pachter, a senior analyst with Wedbush Securities. “Sony has always been about first party and Microsoft wanted to emulate that, but they allowed studios like Rare and Lionhead to fade away.”
A promotional shot from Halo 5: Guardians . 343 Industries/Microsoft Studios.
Microsoft’s biggest studio success was Bungie, which it acquired in 2000, fueling the Halo series through three generations of consoles. But Bungie is no longer a part of Microsoft. Its hit sci-fi shooter series Destiny overshadowed replacement internal studio 343 Industries’ Halo 5 .
Back in 2013, while he was corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, Spencer said he planned to open new internal studios and incubators, but these seem to have mostly come to nothing, with decent work like Project Spark fading away.
Some of Microsoft’s teams do great work. Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games release a Forza Motorsport or Forza Horizon title every year, respectively. The ID@Xbox program is doing a competent job of attracting great indie games, like Cuphead .
This year, a number of smaller exclusives will arrive on Xbox One, including Ashen , Deep Rock Galactic and The Darwin Project . But none of these are likely to make a difference against Sony’s behemoths. And, of course, Sony too has a strong slate of indie exclusives, including an attractive PlayStation VR lineup.
No doubt, Microsoft has some secrets up its sleeve. A new Gears of War to follow The Coalition’s 2016 Gears of War 4 would be a welcome addition, but there’s no word on it, outside of a passing mention in Microsoft’s recent announcement about Xbox Game Pass. It’s possible that a studio like The Coalition is working on a big new IP, although this seems unlikely, given that company’s false start with its earlier attempt to create something new to take on Sony’s Uncharted series.
And, of course, Microsoft has Mojang, but the studio’s biggest game isn’t a Microsoft exclusive — Minecraft is available on just about everything.
We know there’s a new Tomb Raider game coming from Square Enix, but whether it will be a yearlong Xbox One exclusive like 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider is an open question. Commercially, it’s more difficult to argue for this than it was earlier in this console generation.
Rumors are knocking around that shooter brand Perfect Dark might make a comeback. British studio Electric Square is staffing up significantly to work on an Xbox One exclusive.
Looking forward.
Certainly, we can expect something at E3 this year. In November, Xbox publishing manager Shannon Loftis told GameSpot: “I think our offering is good and it is solid. I definitely hear that gamers want more. Would we love to have two-dozen more super-strong exclusives? You bet. We do have more coming; more that are in the works that we’re not talking about now.”
But it will take a lot to close the perceived quality gap with Sony, positioning Microsoft as a viable contender in this generation. After all, it now faces a serious threat from Nintendo’s runaway success with the Switch, which that company is achieving through exclusive games as well as smart hardware design.
“On top of PlayStation 4’s continued success, the Switch had an incredible year,” noted Cole. “Once Microsoft falls behind, they may start to be seen as a secondary platform.”
All this brings us back to the potential for an acquisition that might give Microsoft a pool of development talent, some great new IP and potentially, big new games ready at hand for release on Xbox One.
Tomorrow, we’ll look at the most (and the least) likely targets of a big Microsoft acquisition.
Top 10 Upcoming Xbox One Exclusive Games.
For console gamers, the most important difference between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is the games. Sure, they differ in CPU and graphical power, but none of that matters unless it’s used to fuel awesome gaming experiences. To find out which console is worth your hard-earned cash, first look at the best exclusives on Xbox One. Then take a look at the upcoming Xbox One exclusives are in the works for below.
Bear in mind that Microsoft will also be releasing many of these on Windows 10 PC as part of its Play Anywhere program, so these games aren’t true exclusives. Still, if you don’t want to shell out cash for a gaming PC, these are games you won’t find on any other console.
1. Halo Wars 2.
Release Date : February 21, 2017.
A real-time strategy game set in the Halo universe, Halo Wars 2 puts you in charge of an army of Spartan soldiers along with futuristic military vehicles like Warthogs and Scorpions that will be familiar to anyone who’s played a Halo game. The idea is to wipe out the threat posed by a “terrifying new enemy.” Whether you’ve played the original or not, this is a safe bet for any RTS fans out there.
And the award for most unlikely video game title goes to Cuphead , a game that could also take an award for not looking like a video game at all. Done in the striking art style of 1930s cartoons, Cuphead puts you in the shoes of the title character, who has made a deal with the devil and has to defeat bosses to repay his debt.
Gameplay-wise, you run around and fire off projectiles to defeat enemies. The bosses are huge, with widely varying move sets and abilities. All in all, this promises to be a game unlike any other. If it’s as enjoyable to play as it is to look at, Cuphead is sure to please any action platformer fan.
3. Crackdown 3.
The Crackdown series follows a futuristic cop in a corrupt, open-world city overrun by violent gangs. What’s remarkable about it is how you start out as a pretty normal guy, but thanks to incremental upgrades, by the end of the game you can leap up the sides of skyscrapers and wipe out swarms of bad guys single-handedly.
We haven’t seen much of the third installment, but we do know that it will offer a cooperative campaign, destructible environments, and will take advantage of the Xbox One’s cloud computing feature. Watch the trailer above to get an idea of what to expect once the game comes out.
4. Sea of Thieves.
Microsoft’s Rare Studio is behind this sea-faring title about being a pirate. You and other players will take to the seas, sailing ships, engaging in cannon battles, fighting fantastical creatures, and looking for treasure. Not much else is known about the game, but it looks promising so far.
5. Scalebound.
Developed by Platinum Games, the makers of such excellent action games as Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance , Scalebound looks like a fantasy game of epic proportions. You play as an adventurer who travels to a distant world full of enormous monsters. Luckily for you, you soon befriend a dragon who helps you take on these vicious beasts.
Really, that’s about all we know so far about the game, but the trailer looks suitably grand. If the game is anything like that (or like the excellent titles Platinum has made in the past), it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
6. State of Decay 2.
Looking to have some fun by surviving a zombie apocalypse? This is the game for you. State of Decay 2 follows in its predecessor’s footsteps by offering up a grueling survival role-playing game. Since surviving with friends is always more fun than surviving alone, it features up to four-player co-op multiplayer, so your buddies can drop in or out of your game at any time. Check out the trailer above if you could use more zombies in your life.
7. Phantom Dust.
This game has been on quite a journey. While it was first released on the original Xbox in 2004 to positive reviews, Microsoft announced that a full reboot was in the works for Xbox One. Fans of the original were excited for it, until Microsoft shut down the development team. Apparently Microsoft has resurrected the project, a game that mixes an action RPG with card collecting.
8. Gigantic.
The MOBAs just don’t stop coming, do they? Gigantic is the latest in a long line of “multiplayer online battle arenas” that pit two teams of five unique fighters against each other as they vie for control of the map. The idea is to power up your team each match to turn them “gigantic,” which provides a big leg up in battle. The best thing about it is that it will be free-to-play, so you won’t have to spend a time to give it a shot.
When it comes to developers, Capybara Games is one of the most creative teams around. Capy is responsible for the fantastic strategy puzzler Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes , the artistic adventure game Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP , and the mind-bending shooter Super Time Force . If the developer’s next title lives up to the company’s high standard, you won’t want to miss it.
The title in question is Below , a top-down action adventure game that stars a tiny hero on an enormous island. Unlike in most games, death is permanent here, meaning you have to start from square one each time you perish. That’s a risky choice that could lose a lot of potential customers. To find out if it pays off, we’ll have to wait for its release.
Very little is known about this quiet, dark, atmospheric game, but the teaser trailer above sure makes a statement. It’s an action RPG about a group of wanderers in a dark world that’s full of ash and mysterious creatures (including a horned sky whale).
According to developer Aurora44, “At its core, Ashen is about forging relationships. Players can guide those they trust to their camp – together, you might just stand a chance.” I’m not sure what that means, but I’m interested to hear more.
[UPDATE] ‘Silent Hills’ To Be Purchased By Microsoft As Xbox One Exclusive.
Rumors are spreading around that Microsoft is in talks with Konami to purchase the rights for Silent Hills , a deal that is said to cost billions ! The deal is being rushed now in the hopes that if it goes through, Microsoft can announce the title as an Xbox One exclusive at this year’s E3, a move that would potentially skyrocket sales for the console.
Evidence that points to this being a reality is that the video received an anonymous tip from a source that has provided them with reliable information in the past. Additionally, the removal of P.T. from the Playstation Network might have been a show of good faith by Konami to ensure its exclusivity on the Xbox One platform.
Please remember that this is solely to be taken as a rumor until we have heard otherwise.
AROUND THE WEB.
I hope this all just a rumor but if Konami wants to piss more people off then this a good way to do that.
Better than nothing lets stop being spoiled…
What made Hills so special was the collaboration of Reedus, Del Toro, and Kojima. All three men have left the project, in some pretty final and heartfelt ways. How would this solve that issue, and wouldn’t getting them involved again be disrespectful to their time and talents?
did you not watch the video? the game is 80% done not much left to do.
Which is bullshit. Kojima is completely focused on MGSV. Theres no way they could be 80% done.
you know this for fact right? i’ll go with their reliable source over what you say any day.
since we have no idea what the “reliable source” is u make about as much sense as the guy above you.
Are you a fucking moron? Norman Reedus even stated himself they haven’t even done motion capture (or voice acting) for the game yet. Only P.T. Theres no way you can be 80% done a game with no voice acting.
Also their reliable source is bullshit as well. Everybody and their grandmother knew that Microsoft was going to make a kinectless xbox. So how do we know this guys really an insider.
are you a fucking gullible moron? of course they would deny it now if the plan is to announce it at e3.
The “80% done” part is absolute bullshit. Kojima was focused on MGSV , and norman reedus confirmed on his AMA not long ago that they didn’t record the motion capture yet.
I’d say the developpement barely started.
You wouldn’t know either way.
All you can do is give your thoughts and or opinion and that’s about it because you aren’t in the industry to know anything at all.
u realize on a legal standpoint that they would still have to be tied to the project for the release to happen it means they would have to be rehired and i KNOW kojima doesnt want it on xbox, not when the system is hated so much in japan, trust me this is BS konami would lose more money in the long wrong and piss off the investors if they did do this.
the only people against this are the ones that dont have an xbox one.
Microsoft gave me a damn good reason pretty much to never get a Xbox One and be their customer when it was revealed.
I own both consoles…so this is great news for me.
why is it “great” news for you?
Because if it’s true, he’ll be able to play it.
well even if it isn’t true he could play it because he says he has both consoles, which is why I posed the question.
If it’s not true, no one can play it no matter what console they have. If it IS true, he has an Xbox One, so he’ll be able to play it.
ah forgot about that fact, you’re right. still shitty for the ps4 fans though.
no because it won’t be the originally proposed game, but a shell that is a mesh of previous ideas melted into a pot and mixed by people who had no part in creating said ideas.
Who does give a fuck? The project was canceled, so if it’s not true it would have never been released. So an exclusive is better then no release at all. If Microsoft is smart enough they pull some more millions and give em to Kojima and Del Toro to let them work on it.
PS4 will get enough other stuff, no need to bitch around.
because they were the ones that felt all the potential the new game had. thats all. but you’re right, i’d still get to play it on my xbox but it’s just a shame. no need to get rude about it.
hell no, I have both as well and I think it’s bullshit to go Xbox exclusive. you’re gonna tease a console’s whole userbase just to sell out to the other? yeah that’s a good business move.
You do know that Sony tried to make it ps exclusive first right? Xbox are just picking up where ps left off.
well they were already there sort of(there was no definite thing saying it was a PS4 exclusive, they just got PT exclusively), what I’m saying is that its like getting a demo and hype for one system but the game only coming out on another. you cant see how that might put certain fans in arms and sour them to Konami more than most people already are these days? i dont blame microsoft for doing it but its kind of shitty for Playstation gamers.
I have every system and think this is worse as it will be creatively controlled by MS and won’t be anything that it was before as it will be a completely new team taking on other peoples ideas.
Did you say the same about street fighter V?
please do some research SFV was pushed over to sony due to hardware limits on the xb1 yes ppl gddr5 does make a difference and well sony did pay for it but i dont think it will do them as much as bloodborne did.
Oh my god…lol fanboys will say anything these days.
Yeah A silent hills without Kojima and Del Toro is just another Silent Hill Downpour. Still wouldn’t buy an Xbox for it.
Let’s assume all goes to plan and the rumor is real. Once MS owns Silent Hills, they will no doubtfully welcome back Kojima and Del Toro to create THEIR Silent Hills game. Isn’t that worth it? It would be quite funny if it’s a big hit.
If this does happen. MS needs to have a new studio in place, a team & some help from Kojima. =)
Maybe the ORIGINAL Silent Team? that would be great!!
Or the team who did Shattered Memories, they had some really neat ideas – just the platform that let the game down as the waggle controls got a bit tedious.
kojima is gone hes left konami remember?
If this happens, I am so getting an Xbox One right away!
Awesome. i hope its true.
if this is true hate on sony for not trying to make this happen not microsoft at least they are trying to get this game out there.
They probably did. But Microsoft out bid them.
well thats just sony being cheap then…so again be mad at them not microsoft.
Sony still have The Last Guardian.
That games never coming out.
Don’t dangle that invisible carrot.
You know sony can’t throw out a billion dollars on one game. Not only will they lose tons of money. But they’re already having financial troubles. You’re either a terrible troll or really stupid.
That’s funny considering Sony, this gen, have paid far more for exclusives and exclusive content than lazy MS will cough up. Xbone has been total turd so far, the good game ratio is 10 to 1 atm. Sony have billions to burn, don’t think they don’t. Only a fool would say otherwise.
wow you are pretty dumb only thing sony is doing good in is their gaming department anything else is barely above sea level http://www.industryweek.com/supply-chain/sony-revises-forecast-big-losses-2015 they are loosing money besides their gaming division.
How would it be cheap? Probably cost millions and horror games are not known for making tons of money. It would be hard for it to be profitable. Also pretty much .001% would care enough to let it affect their console choice.
Its really silly for you to give a % on statistics you aren’t even educated on….
look at previous sales of the Silent Hills series. End of story.
Stop making sense on the internet.
where did you get that % lol. also you do realize the game was downloaded over a million times. even if half those people bought the game thats good profit.
downloads do not equal sales. Silent Hill hasn’t sold a million total copies between all consoles for 3 games and that was because it was on 3 different systems(including the PS2 and Wii which both had 100 million plus consoles sold). It is a very niche game/genre and this was unlikely to break that mold.
I have an Xbox One. LET THIS BE TRUE.
Oh wait…so the game got 80% completed when it got cancelled, or what ? Then it means that game isn’t fucked up after all…except that MS can fuck up the left 20%.
it was at least a year and a half away if not more.
According to the source, it was going to release in March 2016.
yeah thats not 80 percent.
sounds like a bunch of internet bs to me. Keep dreaming Xbone owners.
KOJIMA = NEW SILENT HILLS.
NO KOJIMA- No del Toro = Pure western Downpour SH#% again.
I enjoy Downpour thought it was better than RE7.
There is not actually a resident evil 7 yet dude.
If you meant to say RE6, then it’s a null point, cause everything is better than RE6.
Fake. I love Silent Hill but there is no way the franchise is worth ‘billions’ of dollars. Maybe in Monopoly money. I think the only franchises worth a ‘billion’ are CoD, GTA and Mario and SH is nowhere near their popularity.
And even if this story were true, Microsoft would hand the game over to Rare for polishing, and then turn Silent Hills into a Kinect game that features Banjo Kazooie.
Thats what you hop would happen….
It takes way more energy to be negetive then it does to be positive.
Overall sales of Silent Hill has not surpassed 5-7 million dollars. That’s the entire franchise as a WHOLE up until now. It is a niche IP. The story would have been believable if they hadn’t used the term ‘billions’. There is no truth to the SH franchise being worth ‘billions’. Even Metal Gear Solid which is Konami’s most popular IP isn’t worth ‘billions’.
This a troll story meant to get people’s hopes up. Sad, really.
Lol its not that serious man you’re doing to much thinking on something so trivial.
Yeah, I know. Personally, I’m more worried as to what Konami has or doesn’t have in store for Castlevania.
lol nothing want to see whats up for castlevania goto kickstarter.
I’ve known about Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night by Iga since he first teased it with his Whip vs Sword site.
Agreed, but Komami wants money.
And MS has more then enough to throw.
Great, so even if this IS true and the game DOES come out…if it isn’t good MS will get all the hate regardless of how much actual input they had. Joy.
I hope this is true MS needs to forget the people who are hating the xbox one and just worry about the people who bought it ….
If people decide to hop on the bandwagon then so be it but seriously do what you can to bring as many exclusives to your current fan base and screw the bitter and salty people who’s only looking for another reason to dislike you.
Exclusivity rights are never a good thing. As a Silent Hill fan why should I have to pay for an entirely new console to play a single game? Especially when I already plan on buying a PS4 to play uncharted 4! Now I have to decide which to buy based on the games available, rather than system specs and features.
For the record this criticism goes to Sony as well.
Why just have one why not both.
Ah you beat me to it!
Why not release on PC with VR support (assuming Silent Hills would be in first person?). Now that would be a dream come true!
I tried that with the 360 & PS3 and said never again when most games are coming out cross platform. The once in a blue moon exclusive I can live without.
If you have a multiroom house it works tho. I keep the PS3 and PS4 in the bedroom and Xb1 and 360 in the living room. You have to keep them segregated…
I keep two in the play room and two in my bed room i got another x1 in the living room (mainly for tv)
There ya go! Both consoles are great. I like PS4 UI better, but Xbox has a bunch of great features that PS4 doesnt as well. Shame most people cant afford both.
I love the tv functions with the kinect on my x1 the most.
Walking from one room to the next must be a real chore.
Come on man don’t be like that.
exactly…i own all consoles. why? because i’m not a fanboy and enjoy all games.
Buy both. Then you can laugh at all the pixel counting, butt hurt fanboy kids and enjoy ALL the exclusives. If cant afford both, obviously go where most of your friends are. Get the other later.
I don’t tend to play online. The games I do play with friends are on PC, i.e Killing Floor/ GTAV. Don’t get me wrong, I would love both, but I’m on a minimum wage job and looking to break into the games industry myself. My money is better spent perusing my career. Although arguably I could justify purchasing multiple systems for “testing purposes”…
Also, are you a Lostie?
I got my AA in Film an BA in game design and work in San Diego. I’d recommend Art Institute or Gnomon (if you’re in California). Their graduates are in high demand and they have job placement as well. Otherwise, save save save!
I’m in the UK, there’s a few devs close by, the developers of Worms for example aren’t far from me. Unfortunately the US seems to be far better off, may have to look into shipping myself elsewhere! I actually just graduated so I’ll have to take a look at those locations, off the top of your head, do you know if they’d be interested in foreign students?
When I was there there were a few students from Brazil (including a very very attractive lady), and a few from England, and Ireland as well. So short answer yes. Gnomon is the best animation school in the country (US). If you really want a job with Geroge Lucas or Pixar, or in AAA gaming, thats where to start. Cheers.
I respect your answer and to be honest that’s the exact same reason ALOT of other people won’t buy both but they tend to make up other excuses rather than saying “hey two consoles just isnt in my budget”
Kudos to you for being honest.
Thanks dude. In a perfect world, I’d like to see both systems, on my TV stand, its a good motivator!
Im in my 40s and have been gaming since the Atari-Intellivision wars. Im old. But I also have a career, graduated college in 2004, and can finally afford all the things I want. And what I want… is video games. Lovely, fascinating video games. Loved them since I was a kid. Great hobby.
34 here with a great career that allows me to splurge on my many hobbies.
Mostly video games and electronics.
Nice. Yeah if you grew up with atari and NES, odds are youre probably STILL hooked. Like a junkie, I always go out and buy the new systems day one. Can help it. I mean, If you got the spending money, what else you gonna spend it on. The wife? HA!
Lol she has enough holidays as it is plus the anniversary lol.
Tom Sawyer: Yeah, fellow old fart here. I grew up spending hundreds of hours on the Atari when I was a kid, and moved on the NES, SNES, PS1/2/3, and Xbox/360. I bought an Xbox One mainly for Dead Rising 3, and I’ll eventually get a PS4 when there’s enough exclusive games on it that I can’t get for the Xbone.
Are you all done with your life stories? xD.
No read on below….
Has always been the case. Just chose the console that has the games you want – specs and features dont matter. It sucks i know. But then i remember when Sony had all the exclusives, Resident Evil, GTA, Final Fantasy and Silent Hill etc.
Well to be fair, Sony had the chance and it didn’t work out. As for needing a new console for a game, it happens. I was so gutted when silent hills was announced as a ps exclusive, but now I hope it does come to Xbox one, assuming these rumours are true.
MS is much better IMO than Sony. Sony stole Street Fighter 5 away from XO fans…but then i saw the game and its not a big loss at all.
If this is true and the Alan Wake rumor(s) MS, under their new leadership is giving it to the fans.
Remember people, they are buying the WHOLE franchise base! imagine Del Toro doing Silent Hill movie away from Sony.
MS has nailed it out of the park with these exclusives, Gears, Halo, Alan Wake, Silent Hills, Scalebound, Forza, Quantum Break, Crackdown.
Competition is good and all this anti XO hate just made MS fight back for the gamer’s in general.
I suppose butthurt will make anyone try harder.
Screw silent hill, we need another CALL OF CTHULU!
The “80% done” part is absolute bullshit. Kojima was focused on MGSV , and norman reedus confirmed on his AMA not long ago that they didn’t record the motion capture yet..
I’d say the developpement barely started.
All they showed was PT and we have zero artwork or info of the full game. No way they were close to 80%.
you never know if kojima was multitasking with both games.
Seeing as animation is one of the final things that is put into a game, AND that MGSV would have been finished at least 2-3 months ago (open world games go into testing months before other types of games, because there are more bugs expected), AND that the bulk of any new game’s development goes into the groundwork and engine side of things, 80% is a very respectable amount of work to have completed, it does seem likely that it was in fact 80% completed. However, I don’t blame you as many people don’t have actual experience in the industry and think they know how it works… lol.
So under appreciated! Creepy as heck and graphics were phenomenal at the time. Great, great game.
I unhealthily want to believe this is true, and it’s so long until E3 for confirmation…
Still, the 80% done thing sounds very very unlikely. Konami wouldn’t have cancelled a game that far in development, seriously (well, if it’s not very small in scale and playtime that is). And I think just yesterday or today I read that Konami once AGAIN stressed that there will be new Silent Hill games. I don’t think they would’ve said this if Microsoft is about to buy the whole thing.
I was kinda expecting a console holder to pick up the Project, but I always thought that SH was always more of a Sony brand (I know they’re mostly multiplatts).
And seriously, to all the people now talking that exclusivity of this is a shitty thing (IF it turns out to be true), remember, that if it wasn’t for the money of Microsoft, the game would’ve never been made. In this situation it’s really just taking what you’re offered, because there’s really not really an alternative.
Konami seems to want it to die and Sony doesnt give a shit so at least the franchise is being kept alive. Does sound weird that konami would sell its major franchise. I know this will piss off PS4 gamers but Sony could have bought this. It was a Sony exclusive on the PS2 after all. End of the day MS will do the best for Xbox owners, Same as it seems Sony seems to be buying its own exclusive addons to new games to benefit PS4 owners. I find it hard to believe this is true though as SH is a major series.
You speak up for Xbox they ban people accounts send you to forums where they send you on customer support to not get an explanation or even dispute your ban.
What are you talking about? Ive never been banned from my xbox live account… What does that even have to do with the topic of this forum?
I was posting this microsoft is banning people with no merit.
Sony does the exact thing to gamers who have had their account hacked. Really dont care about either company, i am well aware me and you are not their first priority. All i care about is the games and if MS saves Silent Hill then all power to them. The shame for me is Sony had the greatest exclusives ever on the PS2 and let them all go. When watching game adverts on tv alot of them seem to have PS4 only content. I guess Sony feels its better to spend less money and get more DLC exclusives on many games instead of risking paying a fortune for one game they may or may not be good.
Could be worse though. I remember me and my friends trying to chose between a PS1, Sega Saturn and N64 – all three had tons of exclusives. I would love it if Sony/MS got together and built a shared console so we the gamers get all the games.
Side note people, if this is true….imagine Alan Wake, Alan Wake and Silent Hills on XO with Hololens! FUCK VR.
Just as well it isn’t true, then.
hope it works out for the best and not for the woerst.
Oh goodie. Then you could play little half assed minigames with your scary living room as the only environment the whole time instead of having a fully immersive virtual world. How exciting.
BILLIONS, huh? Yeah, not happening.
They bought Minecraft for Billions.
They bought an entire multibillion dollar franchise for billions. This is just a single game that has made zero dollars so far.
They bought the studio for billions. Two of them, to be exact. Wonder if they will make that back……
I am not really sure of your point. 2.5 Billion is Billions. I am not sure what you agreeing to or opposing. Please elaborate.
I’m not about to elaborate on an exchange that occurred over 20 days ago, and clear as day at that. Sorry.
This game is why they bought the company. That’s no secret. And now we’re at 21 days.
HAHAHAHAHA! No. Just no.
Hopefully it’s true so a good game came be salvaged screw console war crap.
Billions of Hersey kisses you mean?
Anyway, SH reminds me of the RE movies and even the games at points. Just slap the name on a pile of shit, people will buy it. Hey, the fucking name is Silent Hills. When you get the name wrong, you know it will be a generic piece of shit. I can picture retards buying that console just to get a Silent Hill rip off.
Fuck Xbox One, Fuck Silent Hills.
You do seem very angry about something you do not seem to fully understand, “When you get the name wrong” being the shining example of a lack of logos. You do remember who was working on Silent Hills, right?
I know, right. The name of the town is Silent Hill which has everything to do with… ya know SILENT HILL but it really doesn’t matter, man. Getting the name wrong means nothing and the games 4 on are all great cannon. I am sure it would have been a masterpiece. BYE!
Unwarranted passive agressive snarkiness aside, you’re still not understanding that, yes, multiple Silent Hills has been a thing since the beginning of the series:
– The division of three worlds, namely ‘normal’, Fogworld and Otherworld, each containing their own variation of Silent Hill.
– Silent Hill is different depending on the person who experiences it, with examples aplenty; each person “has their own Silent Hill”. E.g., Claudia (SH3) describes Silent Hill as heaven, and that girl molested by her dad in the first (second?) game is in a Silent Hill with a clear audiovisual theme referencing her history.
– Silent Hill’s sphere of influence has been expanding throughout the years, first being bound to Toluca Lake exclusively. After colonization in the 18th century it started spreading to the town, and in recent times it swallowed up Sheperd’s Glen and even Ashfield (the latter is half a day’s drive away, according to canon).
So, my friend, instead of crying your bitch tears about your perceived lack of reverence for the series, instead weep salty oceans for the fact that Konami shitcanned the series while it was in the hands of great minds that understood the very fucking fundamentals of what SH is. I do :'(
My little peanut brain can’t process things like the possibility of pluralization so I have to compensate by making the same stupid complaint on ever article about this game and then having widdle tantwums whenever someone calls me out on my glaring stupidity, so please, just leave me alone already before I cause a flash flood of bitch tears, OK DUDE? OK.
He mad it’s not coming to ps4. Sony pony needs to stop sucking Sony’s dick.
Playstation is awesome, like Nintendo so i don’t need to defend it. Every single comment you are taking bullets for that useless console. It needs defending because Bill Gates wanted a console for his vanity lol. Not to create great content. Next time open wide and take a bullet in the mouth so you can stfu.
I don’t mind, if Microsoft buys the rights. But a big F-U to the idea of it being an Xbox One exclusive, if it can’t be for the PC as well (so certain Let’s Players can play it) then I hope this is ONLY a rumor and stays a rumor.
< How about stop doing fad things and actually do something that works like sensible eating and natural movement that encourages optimal body function. I have been using a system that helps strengthen core and pelvic floor muscles, realign body for optimal function through intensive interval workouts and core workouts. Here this is FREE http://desperateloseweight.com/new/8..
You couldn’t just wait a year for the PC version like every other xbone exclusive?
I normally don’t do horror games, but I’d consider watching Markiplier do a playthrough of it.
It could come to pc, just not to ps4. Xbox one console exclusive.
so… its better to be dead and rotting in a landfill than to get any release at all since you can’t play it? arrrrgh.. Nice fans of a series, really.
Better to be dead than to have been made and been a commercial flop on the Xbone.
What could have been versus what is.
I was referring that some Let’s players won’t do console only games, not sure if that’s entirely true, but it would be easier for them IF this was on PC. Let’s players would have to buy an Xbox One and a capture card.
Better dead than ruined.
God damn, I mean I am so god damn butthurt about this game that I’m still using the same dumbfuck comments I used a month ago to whine on every article about this game. I just hope that if I whine hard enough, no one will notice how hard I’m crying about it. Fuck. Only thing that’ll make me feel better now is to go jerk off to Silent Hill 3D again. ;(
well fuck this was originally a Roosterteeth thing? now i KNOW its BS.
As long as it eventually exists I’m happy 😛 I was never planning on playing it, just watching other people play it, lol.
This just goes from bad to worse. I hate it has to exist on such an inferior console.
I’d rather play on a so called inferior console with games then a ps4 that has no games. But you can just talk about 1080p while I enjoy Silent Hills.
Found the Xbone fanboy. Konami killed Silent Hills, by giving it solely to Microsoft, they’re spitting on it’s corpse.
I find it funny that if this was a ps4 exclusive sony ponys would be jumping all over this. Besides Microsoft will have nothing to do with actually developing the game. They are just funding it. It would be the same game it originally attended to be. You are just a sony fanboy with no life.
Except I’m not a Sony Fanboy. You console peasants are all the same. It’s hilarious how you think your console is better than another console when you’re all so stupid.
Then you are a pc nerd who is mad that you get no good games.
LOL No good games. Listen to yourself. You must be so sad. Have fun with your Xbone! I’m sure it’ll get a good exclusive.. some day. But it won’t be Silent Hills!
No good games is still more than Xbox one has. You keep over hyping your over priced vcr. But hey at least if you kids gets this you will finally have one decent game making you even with Sony in that front.
LOL@you if Silent Hills ends up sucking.
Well Microsoft is going to hire Kojima, so I beg to differ…
I would love to see your confirmed sources. Fantasyland doesn’t count.
If the rumors are factual. Silent Hills will be available in a superior console the Xbox One.
Wow big news for Microsoft. Microsoft has the money to do this. Sony is broke. People should be happy that this project is alive and well. If you want the game just buy a dam xbox allready $350 is nothing.
The fanboy is seeping out of you. Kinda gross.
You are just butt hurt it won’t be on ps4.
Dude, lets get 2 things straight.
First, I’m not “butthurt” you homophobe. I happen to own a Xbox, Xbox 360, Ps2, Ps3, PS Vita, 3DS and wiiU. I have no interest on PS4 or Xbone until they put out actual good games….so for a few more years.
Second, the whole thing is a rumor, A RUMOR. Not gonna happen and MS would be out of it’s mind to pay billions for a game from a series that has only sold about 8 million games total.
You still sound butthurt. I doubt it costs billions for the franchise. Room For negotiations. We will know for sure what happens by e3.
You still sound like an idiot, but that’s what you expect when someone defends one company like a religious zealot. Have fun in your ignorance and name calling. I’m sure it gives your life at least a little significance.
Oh look, it ended up being another lie.
Keep waiting for games. 🙂
If Microsoft buys the rights to the game, what happens to the rest of the franchise?
They bought the whole franchise, Konami sold it to them.
Confirmed false. You can go back to dreaming now.
What’s great is that if it does in fact become a MS exclusive it will also end up on PC, so everyone can play it. When they are PS4 exclusives none PS4 owners are screwed.
Don’t make assumptions to quickly. It might not end up on PC.
If MS spends “Billions” on a game you can bet it won’t only be sold on only one device that only has 12M installed based worldwide, they are far more greedy than they are dumb.
If this is true, then it is pretty sad, pathetic, and it shows Microsoft’s desperation. It just confirm’s the truth that Microsoft simply throws money around at third party devss and steals 3rd party IPs to either copy the competition or because they lack the creative talent to make their own. This isn’t a lie, it’s a truthful trend in history.
It would also be pathetic of Konami. I’m pretty sure Konami has the money to make this happen and if they don’t, both Microsoft and Sony should pay to make this game happen as a multiplat. If Konami is using this game to sell out and trying to exploit exclusivity deals to make as much money as possible, that is pathetic.
Dude, sony does this same shit all the time. Look at street fighter v for instance, they bought the right for that game. Remember Destiny? They bought dlc rights to the game and kept pretending that the game was an exclusives. Stop being so one sighted and ignorant. Both companies play dirty. You are just a buthurt prick who is hating the game because it’s not on your console or pc that you want.
And I know you don’t own an xbox one.
Yes, fuck Microsoft for resurrecting a game people want to play. How dare they.
Ya Like sony dint buy out Street Fighter 5 from XO.
er… Sony bought pretty much ALL of it’s studios. It bought Square, (for a time until it got deleted by the Enix merger), It bought Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla, Media Molecule… etc. Basically, and this has bit them on the butt repeatedly, a studio would make a hot looking game and Sony would buy them up to luck up the franchise.
That’s how you do business when you are an electronics company moving into gaming instead of a gaming company like Nintendo and Sega were. It’s also arguably why MS and Sony have terrible first party lineups and are fairly bad for gaming as a whole.
So much buthurt today. Its going to be Xbox One only. Sorry PC and ps4 owners. Looks like you have to make a petition again 😉
Xbox exclusives end up on pc anyways.
Xbox owners so desperate for games they have to make up rumours that they exist.
billions haha if Microsoft do then they are dumb as hell, it will never make that money back no matter how many games they make in that series…not enough people with xbox ones.
Billion equals full IP purchase. ALL. all the games, movies, toy, comics, etc.
About time someone stood up and saved the franchise, Sony killed the Silent Hills movies, now we might have Del Toro do a Silent Hill version.
Phil Spencer tweeted that the rumor is false.
Unless the legal acquisition is 100% complete, Spencer is right.
Now to read Norman Reedus tweet.
Proof that this is fake? “Spring 2016”. Firstly, no game is going to announce a teaser and a release date at the same time. No developer would want to be beholden to it. Moreover, it takes 2-4 years to make a game. Not a handful of months. If MS bought the Silent Hills brand name, they would still have to task a studio to actually MAKE the game with kojima and del toro.
Spring 2018? THAT would be more believable.
Yep, just rumors…
Why in the world would MS buy the “silent Hill” brand name when that brand name means NOTHING. The US doesn’t care about it and MS has no stake in Japan. MS could just as easily scoop up Kojima and Del Toro to make a new IP and it would have the same clout. People don’t seem to understand that PT had nothing to do with “silent hills”. It was just a mini game. There WAS no Silent Hills. Why in the world would MS care about buying a defunct brand name?
I was really intrigued on how they might embed that experience into the Silent Hill lore though. I really liked the stories and universe of the first 4 games and Kojima and Del Toro are both amazing storytellers.
This shit better be fake or there will be another petition against this! So fans who own a PS4 or Playstation system have to cough up $300-$400 on a new system to buy the game at $60 to enjoy it? Fuck no Silent Hills has always been apart of Sony and the Playstation systems period! So unless they wanna get burned down! Don’t fuck with us on this!
I am a Xbox 1 lover. We always use it over the PS4. I have just never really had all that many games to play on my PS4. So I am overjoyed. I’m a huge Silent Hill fan & it is one of the main reason that I have always had a Play Station at home. Bring it on Microsoft. I do not care what system Silent Hills may possibly be released on. All that matters is that we may still get to see the game. No complaints here! A Silent Hills game on any system is better than NO game at all…… Now please just make this game already. That goes for Fatal Frame as well. Why oh why has FF4 not been released here yet. UGH frustration!
NO NO PLEASE GOD NO NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
It,s Silent “Hill”, do your research Jackass.

Top 5 Upcoming Exclusive Titles of Xbox One in 2015.
A couple of weeks ago we brought to you the Top 5 upcoming exclusives for the PlayStation 4 and it seems only fair that to make a better decision, you should also know how the Xbox One is doing in the exclusives section. Many people carry on with the misconception that the Xbox cannot match the exclusive titles hosted by the PlayStation, well I’m here to prove you wrong. Even though the PlayStation hosts some very big titles, Xbox matches them all the way by setting its own standards. Below are 5 of the most anticipated Xbox One upcoming titles.
Halo 5: Guardians.
This is one title i had to add more out of compulsion than personal likeness, not that i don’t like the game but because of it’s immense popularity. If you haven’t heard of Halo 5: Guardians yet, then that is news for me. Being the most anticipated and popular title for 2015, In Halo 5: Guardians, the journey starts as the previous Master Chief unfolds as we embark upon a new Sci-fi adventure.
On ire release, Halo series set the mark for online multiplayer games around the globe and is, hence, one of best and most widely recognized first-person shooter games franchises of all time. It carries an immense legacy with it, a legacy that ‘343 industries’ understands and upholds. The game’s beta version so far is looking extremely epic with some very stable gameplay and beautiful graphics and hence Halo 5: Guardians is a strong contender for game of the year and a must have Xbox One title.
Scalebound.
If you haven’t heard of this one, and probably not, get up and Google it now. Carrying behind it the legacy of Hideki Kamiya whose resume includes: Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and more, Scalebound is an absolute favorite and definitely one that’s going to take the industry by surprise. On its fan page it is described as:
The next great adventure from critically-acclaimed developer Platinum Games and renowned Game Director Hideki Kamiya, Scalebound transports you to a distant, hostile world. You’ll come face to face with fearsome creatures, including a formidable dragon—and the bond you forge with this awesome predator will prove crucial to the survival of both worlds.
What more is left to be said. All you need now is to wait for the games pre-order and expect a gem of game to challenge you along the way.
Rise of The Tomb Raider.
If you’ve been waiting for this on my list list then here it is. It’s prequel ‘The Tomb Raider’ was one of best games of 2013, so the hype behind Rise of the Tomb Raider is perfectly understandable. Since its reveal, it has created a lot of buzz in the gaming world probably the game will be a timed-exclusive meaning that it’s coming first to Xbox One due to a partnership agreement between the Tomb Raider team and Microsoft.
We don’t know too much about the game yet, but we do know that the story will focus on Lara’s struggle to come to grips with what happened to her and what she did on the island. The story of the game seems to be focusing on a side of the modern action hero we don’t normally get to see. Basically its an amazing title to be excited about if you’re an Xbox One owner and sad news if for PlayStation owners as the PS4 version will release afterwards.
Fable Legends.
Another highly anticipated AAA title is Fable Legends. A co-op Role playing strategy game where you can choose from 4 different hero’s and a very uncommon addition where you can also play as the villain aswell. You can choose to play with AI partners as well as with you friends in game where the 4 choices offer you to be whatever you choose. As you play your way through the game, you unlock different special abilities and come across treasures once in a while.
The lush surroundings of the game depicted as ‘Albion’ will surely see you spending hours in front of your Xbox One console trying to make your way through evils that surround of simply trying to plot and defeat the heroes. Fable Legends is a must-have upcoming RPG for all Xbox owners.
Quantum Break.
The last one on our list of Xbox exclusives is Quantum Break, a game brought to you by the creator of Max Payne and Alan Wake. Quantum Break is “ an action-packed, fast paced game in which you bend and shape time in order to survive. Master unique powers, bending and warping time to outmaneuver and outwit the enemy. Epic moments of destruction, captured in time, become your playground.
How you play the game shapes a personalized version of the television show. Watching the show gives you strategies and insights that will impact the way you play the game and helps you discover unique content within the game. Together, the game and the show deliver a holistic entertainment experience, possible only on Xbox One. ”
Easily a very highly anticipated game which has a hell of a concept behind it, Quantum Break is a game which will test your abilities as a gamer and will make sure you’re glued to your Xbox One. So visit the Xbox Store and Pre-Order your game now.
Here you are with the favorites of the Xbox One exclusives. All i can say is that the Xbox has a very strong lineup which can give Sony a lot of trouble and I’ll leave the rest up to you to decide.

PS4 vs Xbox One: which is better?
The definitive showdown between Xbox One and PS4.
The best PS4 and Xbox One games.
Both consoles have some great exclusive games. Sony's exclusives have tended to be third-person games, while Microsoft has seen a number of high-profile racing exclusives.
Both the PS4 and Xbox One now have substantial games libraries. The PS4 has just over 1,600 titles, of which over 500 are exclusives or console exclusives, while the Xbox One has about 1,300 games, of which 150 are exclusives or console exclusives.
The Halo and Gears of War series stand above all others on Xbox One if you're into shooter games, and Cuphead features some fantastic, colorful boss battle action. Halo: The Master Chief Collection lets us relive all the old classics, although the experience was somewhat spoiled by a number of technical problems that have never been fully solved.
But, it’s with its exclusive racing games that the Xbox One really excels, with Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3 being excellent entries in the series.
One Xbox One game on the horizon that we're excited to play is Sea of Thieves , which is sure to be one of the best games on the Xbox One.
The quality and quantity of Sony's exclusives have really impressed us this generation. We awarded Uncharted 4 a 'Play it Now' rating, the highest on the TechRadar scoring system. More recently, the thought provoking The Last Guardian and the gorgeous Horizon: Zero Dawn also impressed.
Finally, remakes of The Last of Us and Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy round out what is a very impressive series of PS4 exclusives but, trust us, there are plenty more where those came from.
Indie games on PS4 and Xbox One.
Sony's console has the higher-profile indie games. Microsoft's move to make every console a developer kit could be huge.
Our most-wanted PS4 games list doesn't end there, because Sony got out in front of supporting independent game developers.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch from Young Horses and Transistor from Supergiant Games came to Sony's console years ago.
Meanwhile, the Xbox One has also seen some excellent smaller games, including Ori and the Blind Forest.
Indie games have exploded on each console over the last few years, thanks to both Sony and Microsoft enacting policies and releasing tools that all but eliminates the barrier to entry of developing for each system.

Respawn Entertainment unveils Titanfall, an Xbox One exclusive (update: Xbox 360 and PC too)
We've been wondering exactly what former Infinity Ward founder Vince Zampella was up to at Respawn Entertainment, and now he's finally shown off the fruits of his team's labor: an Xbox One exclusive called Titanfall . The Call of Duty veterans have concocted a futuristic FPS that lets you fight on foot or hop into mechs. With factions of the bots and humans battling each other, it's clear there's a heavy multiplayer focus. Spring 2014 will see the title arrive on Microsoft's next-gen console, but you can expect to find out more details about it as E3 progresses. Check out the unveiling trailer embedded after the break.

Update: Sure, Titanfall might've been announced as an Xbox One exclusive, but Microsoft's Xbox Wire portal has clarified that it's coming to the Xbox 360 and PCs, in addition to Redmond's next-gen console.

Respawn Entertainment Unveils Titanfall.
The Visionaries that Defined Gaming for a Generation are Back .
And Ready to Do it All Again.
Game Coming Exclusively to the Xbox Platform – Xbox One and Xbox 360 – and PC in 2014.
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and independent videogame developer Respawn Entertainment today revealed the world debut of Titanfall™, the studio's inaugural title. Crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty and other key developers behind the Call of Duty franchise, Titanfall is among the most highly anticipated of E3 2013, having been shrouded in mystery for nearly three years. The visionaries at Respawn have drawn inspiration from their proven experience in first-person action gaming, and are building on that pedigree by taking a new approach to game design and creating an all-new universe with Titanfall. The game is entirely multiplayer, in a new experience that combines fast-paced multiplayer action with the heroic set piece moments traditionally found in campaign mode. Set in a distant frontier torn apart by war, players will have the freedom to switch between fighting as elite assault Pilots or agile, heavily armored, 24-foot tall Titans. To see the announcement trailer for Titanfall, please visit the game's official web site www.titanfall.com.
"It's an exciting time in the industry and it feels like the perfect time to be unveiling Titanfall," said Vince Zampella, a Co-Creator of Call of Duty and Co-Founder of Respawn Entertainment. "Our passion at Respawn is games and we are focused on bringing something exciting to kick off the next generation of software."
The universe of Titanfall juxtaposes small vs. giant, natural vs. industrial and man vs. machine. The game drops players into a conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia as elite Pilots. With the ability to shift back and forth between pilot and Titan, players will have the freedom to change tactics on the fly, attacking or escaping depending on the situation. Titanfall Game Director Steve Fukuda added, "In addition to infusing the multiplayer experience with cinematic flavor, we've been rethinking fundamental combat and movement in the genre. Titanfall is unique in the way that it places equal emphasis on two drastically different and new ways to move and fight in a first-person shooter. The intersection of the two is a big part of what give Titanfall its iconic identity."
Available spring 2014, Titanfall will be available for Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PC and Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall is in development at an external development studio with support from Respawn. Wondering which console to buy this Christmas? You should make that decision based on the games you can play.
Fundamentally, there’s not too much difference between the PS4 and Xbox One in terms of game availability and features. If you like Call of Duty , or Fallout , or Overwatch , or other such blockbusters, then the difference in experience between the machines is negligible. Even the Nintendo Switch is managing parity with the more-powerful systems, as the recent announcement of Switch versions of DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus prove. In fact, some games – like Sonic Forces due in Q4 – are already announced for simultaneous release on all three formats.
So if you have no predetermined preference for any of the manufacturers, then the number one factor driving your purchasing decision should be the exclusives. These are the games that you can play only on one particular format, which means if a console has the specific franchises or experiences you’re excited about, then that is the system you should buy.
Below you will find a list of all the exclusives currently revealed for a 2017 release on each format. It’s possible that some of these games will end up releasing in 2018 or (shudder) 2019, but they still remain in the future of the console you purchase.

Important information about this website.
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We compare from a wide set of major banks, insurers and product issuers.
finder.com.au has access to track details from the product issuers listed on our sites. Although we provide information on the products offered by a wide range of issuers, we don't cover every available product. You should consider whether the products featured on our site are appropriate for your needs and seek independent advice if you have any questions.
Products marked as 'Promoted' or "Advertisement" are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options and find the best option for you.
The identification of a group of products, as 'Top' or 'Best' is a reflection of user preferences based on current website data. On a regular basis, analytics drive the creation of a list of popular products. Where these products are grouped, they appear in no particular order.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
Providing or obtaining an estimated insurance quote through us does not guarantee you can get the insurance. Acceptance by insurance companies is based on things like occupation, health and lifestyle. By providing you with the ability to apply for a credit card or loan we are not guaranteeing that your application will be approved. Your application for credit products is subject to the Provider's terms and conditions as well as their application and lending criteria.
