Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is an installment of the Ace Combat arcade combat flight video game series. It was developed by Project Aces and originally published by Namco Bandai for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms in October 2011. The game was later released on Microsoft Windows in January 2013 through Steam. Depends on how serious you are about your flight simulators. For anything other than “airplane-themed game,” you’re going to want a PC, at least. In my head, the most important part of a flight simulator isn’t the software - it’s the hardware. If you don’t have a flight yoke, a pair of pedals, and a throttle knob - at a minimum - you don’t have a flight sim. I’m unaware of any set of peripherals like that designed for the Xbox. Now, you can get nuts and go up to tens of thousands of dollars building a flight simulator. Unless you’re opening a flight school, you probably don’t need all that. But I insist: basic yoke, basic pedals, and throttle knob are non-negotiable. Unfortunately the best you’re going to get is an arcade game that focuses on airplanes. If you’re interested in flight simulators, that’s a PC only adventure. I would be a bit more specific as to what you mean by best. Do you mean most graphically detailed? Most accurate to actually flying a plane? Easiest interface? If you are looking for true to life flight simulator i would lean toward pc with a 3-4 monitor set up. This when done properly can be done so it is like looking out the cockpit windows of a real airplane. Flight Simulator 2016 Not Coming to Xbox One afterall. Way back in August 2015 we covered a press release that was exciting to say the least. In an announcement from Dovetail Games and Microsoft, it was announced that Dovetail Games’ simulation games would be coming to Xbox One as part of a new partnership with the studio. In the press release it was revealed that Dovetail Games Fishing and Dovetail Games Train Simulator would be making their way to Xbox One but the really exciting part was the revelation that Flight Simulator 2016 was also listed as coming to Xbox One. Alas it sounded too good to be true and unfortunately it is. Whilst Dovetail Games Fishing and Train Simulator are still scheduled for an Xbox One release, Flight Simulator 2016 will not be coming to Xbox One. Recently we interviewed Steve Hood, Creative Director of Dovetail Games Flight School. During that interview we asked him about Flight Simulator coming to Xbox One to which he said “A console release is something we may consider for Flight Simulator in the future”. Considering that the press release from last year suggested that Flight Simulator was coming to Xbox One it was a curious comment so we decided to hit up the PR team at Dovetail Games to find out if there was a change of plans. As it turns out there has not been a change of plans as Flight Simulator for Xbox One was never in the pipeline. It appears that Microsoft may have been a bit overzealous with the initial press release on the partnership where reference was made to Flight Simulator coming to Xbox One as Dovetail Games had not planned on bringing the title to console. When the error was found the article was apparently amended, however without a new press release going out it would appear that many of us have long continued to believe that Flight Simulator was coming to Xbox One. A genuine Flight Simulation game coming to Xbox One was certainly an exciting prospect, even if it was never going to happen. It’s worth noting that Steve Hood from Dovetail Games doesn’t completely rule out Flight Simulator making it’s way over to Xbox One so you just never know. Maybe in a distant future we may just see a full blown Flight Simulator come to console, although the great variable is how well it would succeed, especially if it were to be limited to flying by controller. The only problem was that issuing the view control to the right stick didn't work like MS Flight: instead of rotating and keeping the view still (and clicking to center back), the view centers back automatically if you release the stick. Use your operating systems Human Input Device (HID) configuration settings so that the left stick controls thrust (up and down on the left stick) and yaw (left and right on the left stick). Turn on the Taranis using the switch in the front. 3. Plug the Taranis into your computer with a mini-USB Type B cable. 4. Start the DRL FPV Simulator. If you plug in the USB cable before powering on the Taranis, the game may not recognize the device. Similarly if you plug in your Taranis after the game has already started, the game may not recognize the device. You will likely need to create a new digital control model in your specific transmitter in order to use the simulator. The Taranis can properly control the simulator using the default quad-copter model setting. You may need to reverse/swap channels based on your transmitter.
