Auch für DVD-Versionen wird es die Abwärtskompatibilität geben. Hier müsst ihr das entsprechende Spiel in das Xbox One-Laufwerk legen. Anschließend steht ebenfalls eine digitale Version des Xbox 360-Spiels zum Download bereit. Alle Xbox One-Funktionen, wie das Erstellen von Screenshots per Kinect oder das Streaming von Spielen auf Windows 10 sollen auch mit den alten Titeln verfügbar sein. Inzwischen gibt es auch eine umfangreiche Liste mit den Xbox 360-Spielen, die zum Start des Features auf der Xbox One spielbar sein werden. Die Liste ist selbstredend noch nicht final.
