Xbox One Backward Compatibility update: FIVE Xbox 360 games added to Microsoft library. UPDATE: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 now added to Microsoft's backwards compatible library which are now ready to play on Xbox One consoles. REVEALED: Xbox have added five new games to their backwards compatible library. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 have just been added to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility list. News of the games were announced on Star Wars Day by Microsoft's Director of Programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb. The first game was released back in 2010 and received reasonable reviews and is currently scored as 73 on Metacritic. It allowed you to take on the role of Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” in a new chapter of the saga set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. A sequel followed in 2011 but received less than favourable reviews compared to it's predessor. Last week Microsoft added an impressive seven new games to the Xbox One's Backwards Compatible library. And today they've announced that three more Xbox 360 classics will be joining the lineup. As per usual, the news was announced by Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb via the Microsoft Director of Programming's Twitter feed. Joining the long list of Xbox 360 classics already available to play on the Xbox One console are the following titles: Texas Hold ‘Em, MX vs. ATV Reflex and the iconic Dreamcast skater Jet Set Radio. And now that the Xbox One console has a dedicated Xbox 360 backwards compatibility store, it's even easier to search for and download these games if you're interested in trying out a 360 classic but don't already own a copy of the game. Xbox One Backwards Compatible games. While we've got you Xbox fans it's also worth reminding you that you can now download a new batch of free Games with Gold titles if you're a Xbox Live member. Additionally, one of April's Xbox One giveaways (Sunset Overdrive) is still free until May 15 and considering it's one of the best Xbox One games ever made, we'd highly recommend getting it for free while you can. You'll find full details of what games are available this May and how to download them below. REVEALED: The Xbox games available for free to Xbox Live Subscribers in May. For those unfamiliar with how this works, during every month Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360. Typically, Games With Gold titles are available for a period of two weeks each, so it's worth marking the dates down in your calendar to ensure you don't miss out. And don't forget you can play both Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One now thanks to the consoles backward compatibility features. Plus, now that the Xbox One has a dedicated Xbox 360 backwards compatibility store, you can easily search for, find, and download these games if you're interested in trying out a 360 classic. HERE'S WHAT'S AVAILABLE IN MAY: Kicking off the month, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to download (all month) the Xbox One game Defense Grid 2, a tower defense title from the folks at Hidden Path Entertainment and 505 Games. This will then be followed up by Costume Quest 2, a quirky animated RPG from Double Fine Productions and Majesco which will be available on May 16th. As for your two Xbox 360 games, Xbox Live Gold members start the month with one of the best racing games we've experienced in the form of Grid 2. And then come May 16th you'll be able to get your hands on the popular puzzle game Peggle made by Popcap and EA. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed games added to Xbox One backwards compatibility list. Both titles in LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed third-person action game series for the Xbox 360 can be played on the Xbox One via its backwards compatibility feature. The announcement was again made on the Major Nelson Twitter account. Both games also happen to be on sale for just $4.99 each as part of this week's Deals with Gold program. The first Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game, released in 2008, has the player controlling Darth Vader at first, and then his new and secret Sith apprentice Starkiller, during the period between the third and fourth Star Wars movies. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II was released in 2010, with the player controller a clone of Starkiller. Both games give the player a choice of going towards the light or dark side of the Force, with lots of light saber and Force combat. Next Xbox One Backwards-Compatible Games Arrive. Both Force Unleashed titles arrive on Star Wars Day. Last updated by Eddie Makuch on May 4, 2016 at 1:42PM. You are now subscribed. For the second time in as many days, Microsoft has added new titles to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program. Today's new additions, as announced by Microsoft's Major Nelson on Twitter, are Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. The Xbox 360 titles come to the program on Star Wars Day, which we have to imagine is no coincidence. If you already own (or decide to buy) these games, they'll show up in the Ready to Download area of the My Games and Apps section on your Xbox One. You can download and play them like any other game. As mentioned, this is the second time this week that Microsoft added new games to the backwards compatibility program. On May 3, Microsoft introduced Jet Set Radio, MX vs. ATV Reflex, and Texas Hold 'Em. There are now more than 150 games in the Xbox One's backwards compatibility library. You can see all of the Xbox 360 games you can currently play on an Xbox One here. New games are added to the mix whenever they are ready, not on a set schedule. There are five games confirmed to be coming to the program but not delivered yet. These are Call of Duty: Black Ops, BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, and Skate 3. Please please make this so. Please make the ultimate sith edition disc compatible. My free Gold membership download of star wars the force unleashed isnt working right. Some controls arent working and it won't let me past the first obstacle. I just downloaded SWFU and it won't let me play it, it won't go online to let me save. Help I can't save, it kicks me off of xbox live and says I need to sign in, but I can't. I have the Ultimate Sith Edition and it won't let me play the game at all. Do I need to buy an Xbox 360 again just to download the game? Could we get an update for the game. Freezes constantly, erases saved games. Right now i am stuck between starting over completely and just sitting here watching a blank screen. Sincerely, a paying customer. Please add the dlc to backwards compatibility otherwise my sith edition is just pointless. I can't download it it's not even in my ready to install list. Multi-Disk to this game is not optimal both disk need to be install/downloaded and is a total of 13.6 gb and that seams alot for a few dlcs plus main game, to play main campagin use disk 1 and costumes cant still not be uset. To use dlc + costumes use disk 2 and the costumes seams so far only to Work with the dlcs. Good news Microsoft, good work! Hey Microsoft this game and the force unleashed 2 needs a update it is laggy as hell please fix the problems. Microsoft the dlc is backwards compatible if bought via Xbox online store. However you never stated that disc 2 for the Sith edition was not compatible. There is nowhere on the internet that stated this. You misled your customers so please fix this soon or honour our accounts with the dlc. MS if you can add Fallout 3 GOTY sec disk then you can allso add Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Edition sec disk it cant be that hard. Will the Sith edition second disk with all of the DLC ever work? . upon further inspection it seems like someone has made an error. As the DLC for the game is available in Australia but the game isn't. Did someone not tick the right box? The Clubs & LFG Forum Is Live! Our newest Feature Area forum, Clubs & LFG, is now live!
