If the Xbox displays the NAT type "Strict" or "Moderate", then some of the services or data required by the Xbox are being blocked. This is usually because port sharing was not configured. In this case, adjust the FRITZ!Box settings:
Setting up automatic port sharing.
Set up the FRITZ!Box for automatic port sharing so that the Xbox itself can open all of the ports in the FRITZ!Box that it requires:
Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface. Click "Home Network Overview" in the "Home Network" menu. Click on the "Network Connections" tab. Click the button (Edit) for the device you would like to configure. Enable the option "Permit independent port sharing". Click "OK" to save the settings.
Disabling the Teredo filter in the FRITZ!Box.
Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface. Click "Filters" in the "Internet" menu. Click on the "Lists" tab. Disable the option "Teredo filter enabled". If the option is not displayed, enable the Advanced View first. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
Setting up static port sharing.
If you still cannot connect to online games or the connection drops, configure the required port sharings manually:
Configure static port sharing in the FRITZ!Box for the ports and IP protocols used by Xbox Live. TCP ports: 53, 80, 3074 UDP ports: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500 If the online game uses other ports in addition to the ones required for Xbox Live, configure port sharing for those ports in the FRITZ!Box. For example, FIFA 17, the football simulation game, requires the following port sharings: TCP ports: 53, 80, 3074, 3659 UDP ports: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 3659, 4500.
Note: With just a few clicks in the internet you can find lists of ports used by other games such as Battlefield, Call of Duty, Starcraft & Co., for example at www.portforward.com.
Now the FRITZ!Box is completely configured for incoming and outgoing internet connections. If you still experience problems when playing individual online games or the Xbox still displays "moderate" as the NAT type, then the FRITZ!Box may not have obtained a public IPv4 address from your internet service provider.
Note: The FRITZ!Box is not accessible from the internet over IPv4 when used on a DS-Lite internet connection. When DS-Lite is active, the status "IPv4 over DS Lite" is displayed under "Connections" on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.
IPv6 on Xbox One.
Xbox One can connect to networks using two protocols that allow devices to transmit information: the traditional IPv4 communications protocol, and its newer version, IPv6. For Xbox One to connect to the Internet using IPv6, your home router needs to have IPv6 enabled, and your Internet service provider (ISP) must support IPv6.
Internet Protocol version 6 is the most current network protocol, bringing several improvements over IPv4. Most important, IPv6 expands the number of possible IP addresses (the unique numbers that represent every device on the Internet). And—most useful for Xbox—the expansion removes the need for Network Address Translation (NAT), which can interfere with multiplayer gaming and chat over IPv4 networks.
What if my Xbox One isn’t connected using IPv6?
Your Xbox will work normally without IPv6 connectivity. However, for the best possible experience, we recommend enabling IPv6 on your network. Several Xbox One features already make use of IPv6, and we’re building more.
How can I tell if my Xbox is connected using IPv6?
Here’s how to check:
On your controller, Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select Settings > All settings . Select Network > Network settings .
If your Xbox One has IPv6 connectivity, your Current Network Status will read IPv4 & IPv6 . (To see your actual IP and gateway addresses, select Advanced settings .)

Option #1- Share your VPN connection through your home router.
Sign up to one of the recommended Xbox One VPN services I’ve highlighted above. Open your home internet router’s control panel/admin section. Check the router’s documentation for where to find this. Find the Network/Setup/Settings/WAN tab in your router’s control panel. Enter the VPN setup details that were sent to you when you signed up. This will probably be some combination of a username, password, and server address that are all provided by the VPN service. Confirm/accept/save these changes and close your router’s control panel. Start up your Xbox system. Navigate to the “Network Settings” tab under “System Settings.” Configure your Xbox to automatically connect to the router you set up earlier. Save any settings and that’s it! Your Xbox will now be enjoying the benefits of a VPN straight from your router!
Option #2- Sharing your computer’s VPN connection with your Xbox One.
Sign up to one of the recommended Xbox One VPN services I’ve highlighted above. Install and have the VPN running on your home computer. Turn on your Xbox and connect it to your computer using a wired (Ethernet cable) connection. On your home PC, go to the “Network and Sharing Center” under the Windows Control Panel. Click on “Change Adapter Settings” on the left menu. Right click on your VPN connection and click “Properties.” Click on the “Sharing” tab and tick the box that says “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection.” A drop down menu will appear below. Select “Ethernet” (or “Local Area Connection”) and click “OK.” You are all set! Your Xbox should now be using your PC’s VPN connection to access the internet. The Xbox One by Microsoft is also equipped with a wide variety of multiplayer functions including competitive and cooperative multiplayer content, cloud services, chat and community services. To use these functions, establish a connection to the home network and the Internet either wirelessly over WiFi or using a cable.
Xbox One – Insert Cable and Off You Go.
As for the PS4, a conventional LAN cable connection is the easier choice. Insert one end of the cable in the LAN port of the console, located on the far right of the back panel. Then plug the other end into a free interface on your FRITZ!Box. Once you have switched the console on, the connection is established automatically and no further settings are needed.
Configuring Wireless LAN on the Xbox One.
The first time the console is started, you have the option of using a Wizard to establish the wireless connection. Simply follow the instructions on the screen, select the name of your home network from the list, and enter your network key. You can return to this screen later by pressing the menu key on the controller and going to the "Network Settings".
Now you can enter a new wireless LAN to the Xbox One. Select your home network from the list that appears after a network scan, and then conclude the procedure by entering your network key. If you ever change the wireless LAN properties on the FRITZ!Box (network name, key), this is where you will have to reconfigure the connection in the Xbox One.
Testing the Connection and Troubleshooting.
Once the Xbox One is registered with the wireless network, you can establish a test connection in this menu. If this test is successful, the Internet functions of the console will be available. If it is not possible to establish the connection, you can use the error diagnostics provided by the system. Alternatively, repeat the configuration process; often the problem is as simple as transposed digits in the network key.
Depending on the conditions where you live, sometimes a network cable is preferable to a wireless connection. Which variant is better for you will be explained in an upcoming article in this guide. How to open a port on the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7050.
FRITZ WLAN7050 routers include a very basic firewall that helps protect your home network form unwanted access from the internet. Since this firewall blocks incoming connections you may need open a port through it for certain games and applications. This process of opening a port is frequently called a port forward , since you are forwarding a port from the internet to your home network.
The basic process to open a port is:
Setup a static ip address on either your computer or device that you want to forward a port to. Login to your FRITZ BOX WLAN 7050 router. Navigate to the port forwarding section. Click the Internet link. Click on Portfreigabe . Click the Neue Portfreigabe button. Select Andere Anwendungen in the drop down. , Portfreigabe aktiv fur Create a port forward entry .
While these steps might seem difficult at first, we will walk you through each step for your FRITZ WLAN7050 router.

When you use Network Utilities you get your port forwarded right now!
It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

Now we are going to login to your FRITZ WLAN7050 router. Your router has a web interface, so you will login to it using your web browser. This can be either Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Edge. It usually does not matter which browser you choose to use.
Open up your web browser and find the address bar . It should look something like this:
In the picture above the address bar has 192.168.178.1 in it. Just replace all of that with the IP address of your FRITZ WLAN7050 router. Your router's ip address can also be refered to as your computer's default gateway.
By default the IP address is set to: 192.168.178.1.
After entering the IP address of your router you can simply press enter. If all goes well you will see the following screen:
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password.
The Default FRITZ WLAN7050 Router Username is: none The Default FRITZ WLAN7050 Router Password is: unknown.
Enter your username and password, and then click the Login button to log in to your FRITZ WLAN7050 router.

If you still can't login to your router because you forgot your FRITZ WLAN7050 router username and password, use our How to Reset a Router Password guide to set your FRITZ WLAN7050 router back to its factory settings.
Now we need to find the port forwarding section in your router. Here's how you do it. Starting from the first page in your router:
Click the Internet link near the left of the page.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Portfreigabe .
Click the Neue Portfreigabe button near the right of the page.
Select Andere Anwendungen from the Portfreigabe aktiv fur drop down box.
Now we are ready to enter some data in your router. In order to show you exactly how to configure your router we need you to answer 2 questions:
(The IP Address to forward to should be the same "static ip address" that you setup above)

And that is it! You are done!
Now that you have forwarded ports on the FRITZ WLAN7050 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.

1: Setup VPN For XBOX 360 When you are using wireless connection with PC/Laptop.

2.3: Right click "Local Area Connection" - "Properties" - "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)" - "Properties". Check "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" boxes. Then click "OK".
2.4: Input "cmd" into start menu search box and press "enter" key .
2.5: Input "ipconfig"and press "Enter" key. Write down the IPv4 address under “Ethernet adapter local area connection”.

2.7: Plug your XBOX 360 to wireless router LAN port through Ethernet cable .Go to XBOX 360 IP setting manually.
a: IP address: Keep the last digit different from “Ethernet adapter local area connection IPv4 address” you have written it down. For example, Ethernet adapter local area connection IPv4 address is 192.168.1.100. You can enter 192.168.1.99 or other IP address except 192.168.1.100.
b: Default gateway: Same as “Ethernet adapter local area connection IPv4 address”.
C: Preferred DNS server: Same as “Ethernet adapter local area connection IPv4 address”.
2.8: Go to test XBOX 360 network. Then you can connected FlyVPN connection on XBOX 360.

Get Your Network Ready for the Xbox One.
We gave you a little heads up about the Xbox One back in May, but we figured now that we were getting closer to the November 22nd release date, why not offer a little tutorial on how to get your network ready? After all, the Xbox One is not being marketed as a mere gaming system; if the hype is to be believed, the Xbox One will stomp all over your PlayStation and casually fling your Roku into your desktop screen. This is the entertainment system to end all entertainment systems, and you better make sure you have a weapons-grade network ready to handle all of the bandwidth demands the Xbox One entertainment console will will require.

But before we actually start prepping your network, we ought to at least mention what it is the Xbox One does (rather than just keep vaguely comparing it to a world-crushing monster).
As we alluded to above, Microsoft is marketing the Xbox One as an “all-in-one entertainment system”. This means that, aside from all the usual fun that comes with an Xbox gaming console, the Xbox One will offer Skype, integration with your television (to the point of learning your viewing habits and making recommendations), and even social media integration complete with increased cloud computing functionality!
The Xbox One will also include a Kinect camera and sensor that will be attuned to the owner’s heartbeat, a microphone that enables voice command, and can even be controlled by your phone or tablet.
In short, if used properly, the Xbox One will be the gateway to all of your music, movies, television, and gaming. No longer will it be necessary to toggle through several different systems to switch between your iTunes library and your movie library. This may be the system we’ve all been waiting for.
