Does Logitech’s G27 wheel work with PS4? With the recent release of Project Cars, one of the burning questions from gamers has been whether Logitech’s impressive G27 wheel is compatible with PS4, like it was with PS3. After searching around however, we came across two different answers. As it turns out, the G27 is, and isn’t, compatible with PS4. Is the G27 compatible with the Playstation 4? Well, the initial answer from Logitech was ‘no,’ as you can see from the tweet below in which the peripheral manufacturer confirmed that the G27 lacks the necessary security chip that is needed for the wheel to work together with the PS4. The plot thickens as the tweet has now been removed. In an interview with Eurogamer, the security chip-story was confirmed yet again by Mad Catz’s senior product development manager, Richard Neville: “A PS4 racing wheel is required to include an authenticating security chip which handshakes with the console for verification, as such our older PS3 wheels will not function on PS4.” Whether we’ll see support for the wheel from either Sony or Logitech is unknown at this point, but what we do know is that Logitech has discontinued the development of console accessories due to a big loss of $180 million dollars in Q3 of FY 2013. This leads us to think there will be no further support and that the G27 will slowly fade away into our memories. While we haven’t seen any native support so far though, there are various third party peripherals that do the trick, like the Match 4 (or M4), which connects your G27 to your PS4 or Xbox One through a dongle that makes it possible to play racing games with the wheel. The Match 4 remaps the controls to the wheel and tricks the PS4 into thinking the G27 is a compatible controller. After searching for feedback about this method, we came across various opinions where some people were satisfied by the product, and others were disappointed due to some features not working properly. Looking at some of the comments we see about the M4 there seems to be a 10% dead zone, which to racing fans isn’t acceptable. In response to this “issue”, Jennifer, a worker behind the scenes of the Match 4, claimed that the issue is due to the fact that the small movement is not being detected by the sensor of the racing wheel’s motor. Even with this in mind, racing fans aren’t satisfied as some games seem to be unplayable for them and thus they don’t think the peripheral is worth it’s price. We checked ourselves whether the Match4 fulfilled its promises or not and, for us, it did not work at all. The wheel spinned around, confirming that it was on and working, but that’s about as far as we got. After updating the Match4 through the given software on the site, the result was still the same. Our recommendation is to await further news or make the step to get a wheel that is currently supported. Even though there are workarounds available to make it possible to play on the PS4 with the G27, there’s still people who are hoping and waiting for support to be added for both Logitech and Fanatec wheels. A petition is currently running to add support, which has been growing slowly but steadily, making it’s way up to 15,000 supporters just 2 weeks ago. In the meantime, you may want to check out the superb Thrustmaster RS500. Related News. Monster Hunter World Update 1.04 Goes Live On PS4 and Xbox One. Xbox One support for USB Racing Wheels. Logitech G25, G27, Thrustmaster RGT FFB with Clutch and etc. I would like to be able to use my existing/new USB Racing Wheel with clutch on the Xbox One to play all racing games. 346 comments. "For a controller to be accepted by the XB1 it has to contain a security chip for authentication. So unless the manufactures recall the wheels, upgrade them and pay Microsoft for a license to use the device on an XB1 it will not happen. " Ever heard of a dongle? Yeah as stupid as a USB to USB dongle seems, such a solution, where the dongle is approved and it knows what USB wheels to connect to and how, would solve the problem. But your right, its not going to happen, because why would it. In my gaming life I've purchased 3 expensive steering/pedal controllers, starting with a Thrustmaster non FF back in the early 1990s (remember game ports?), an ACT Labs RS wheel in the late 90's (has USB interface) and a 360 solution Fanatec RS2. And each end every time, once the gaming system hardware moved on, the old wheel hardware wasn't supported anymore. Part of that is on the dysfunction in consumer electronics - had the makers come together to devise a standard communications protocol, wheels would be portable and not require custom drivers. The 360 wheel never really worked well, despite its price, as the wireless lag was just too much (the lag isn't any better with the controller, its the nature of wireless). so at this point I'm done with wireless steering controllers. But that the XBOX consoles (or any consoles) that have a USB port don't support a wheel that has a USB capability is just inexcusable. Driving games just stay toys, or the real of people who are willing to drop many hundreds of dollars on a wheel that gets obsoleted in 5 years. And Driving Force GT. G27 should be supported by Xbox One . period. G27 should be supported by Xbox One . period. G25, that is ALL. If it works on a Windows 10 machine, it should work on a Xbox One. Period. Yes, yes, and more yes. Why hasn't this happened yet? I put off playing racing games because I prefer playing them on my Playseat with a proper steering wheel/pedal setup. Please. I hope that Xbox One, that uses the Windows 10 kernel, can support ALL the PC/Windows 10 accessories like mouse, keyboard and also all the supported Racing Wheels. please do it. you would make mine xbox worth 50% more:) Agree completely, the G27 is fundamentally no different and should be able to be used with an Xbox One. They're not throwaway items, costing as much as the console itself. I guess if I throw the console away and never buy another one that solves that problem. Support my wheel, or I don't buy your driving games. Simple. This is my biggest regret in moving from ps3 to xbox one, and likely the thing that will cause me to switch back. If the GT driving force real isn't supported in the new game I'm not going to buy it. in this case if no support from microsoft, whats about the apadters on the market? i have 3 xbox 360 wired and a logitech momo wheel. whats the best ? is there only one adapter for different joypads/wheels? No he jugado (ni comprado) ningún juego de coches por no dar soporte a los antiguos volantes cuando en w10 si puedes, pues se quedan sin que les compre ningún forzá, una pena, ellos sabrán. Racing wheels are so expensive. WE invest in them to enjoy the games. If a wheel is compatible with windows 10, it should be compatible with the xbox one! ok, so there's probably exclusivity deals, but the manufacturers should realise we'll keep buying them only if we get use of them. I have three wheels sat in cupboards so am not about to buy a G920 when the G27 works with the PC and the Oculus Rift now am I? would be nice of you if you give us a upgrade with support for Logitech® MOMO® Racing Force Feedback Wheel. Yes it would be nice of you if you give us a upgrade with this support. I was a PS Gamer. Having had a PS1, PS2, 3 x PS3's. I finally made the leap of faith to XBOX1 and i cant use my Logitech G25 or G27. Please provide some support for these older wheels as its not feasible buying another wheel. If a solution isnt found soon, i'll probably leap back to PS. The Clubs & LFG Forum Is Live! Our newest Feature Area forum, Clubs & LFG, is now live! Awesome stuff guys! Playing Forza 5 with my original MS 360 wireless wheel makes the XB1 complete for me, thanks to the CronusMax. Thumbs up! GamesRadar+ The best racing wheels. We round up the best racing wheels available for you to buy today. Sure, controllers are great but if you've been getting the sneaky feeling that you're not getting the most out of your driving games, it's probably because you haven't invested in a racing wheel for gaming. It might sound obvious but how can you truly appreciate the thrill of the race when you're not white knuckled on an actual wheel with every single movement the difference between a perfect corner or skidding out of control? But which is the best racing wheel for you? Sounds like fun. At the budget end, you'll definitely find some fun from a well-synched wheel, even if its key function is, well, turning. Better yet, you could opt for something a bit more deluxe, featuring ‘force feedback’ that pushes against you when you steer (and rotates on its own when you let go). Do you need pedals? A dedicated clutch pedal? And what about manual gears? Paddle shifting with your hands behind the wheel like Formula One drivers is great fun, but maybe a sequential stick shift is what you need, especially if you plan on playing a rally sim. Good news: we've got you covered. Here are the best racing wheels on PS4, Xbox One and PC, whatever your budget, in order of our preference – most recommended first. 1. Thrustmaster T300 RS. The best-value serious racing wheel money can buy. Compatible with: PS4/PS3/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 3kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 1080 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: No | Expandable: Yes. This is one of the best racing wheels for the serious racing game enthusiast. It incorporates high-quality force feedback so powerful, hitting a wall at the wrong angle could potentially hurt your thumbs. There is a downside to all this motorised resistance, and that’s the fan that ejects hot air from the top of the unit, right out the top of the unit, so after a while you may smell the hot air which is a bit off-putting. In track racers like Assetto Corsa, F1 2016 or Project CARS, as you can really feel the sensation of grip via the superb motorised feedback, and the speed of response to your inputs is superb. It’s precise, weighty and really shakes when the game demands it, making a rally game like WRC 6 feel so much more involving. The only real problem the wheel has is that the handbrake is inevitably mapped to a button you access with your thumb, making rally games fiddly. You can buy a separate stick shift and use that as the handbrake with the paddles for changing gear, but that isn’t ideal. The wheel is often upside-down during rally stages, so you’ll have to compromise between handbrake and stick shifting somewhere. Still, handbrake aside, this is arguably the perfect when for the serious gamer, and gets my recommendation. Best for … Serious PS4 racers. The wheel is officially supported, and works superbly. 2. Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel: Leather Edition. Great-feelin’ wheelin’ for your Xbox One. Compatible with: Xbox One/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 9kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 900 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: Yes | Expandable: Yes. This is the Xbox One equivalent of the T300 RS and it’s just as awesome when it comes to quality of control and feedback. This bundle costs more than the standard version of the RX, but the reason we’re recommending it so highly is because of the two items it ships with, namely the T3PA 3-pedal pedal set and the TM Leather 28 GT 11" detachable leather wheel. The leather wheel may not be Xbox-branded (indeed it can connect to the PS4 servo base too as it’s universal), but it’s a very high-quality steering wheel. Our only criticism of it would be the stitching on the leather that lines the inside of the wheel, which can rub slightly against your thumb if you use it a lot on your first day with it. The pedal set is superb, with full-size, weighty pedals that feel really good under your feet and afford subtle, nuanced control over your accelerating and braking. You will probably want to mount it to a racing seat if you’re going so seriously that you’re buying this set, though the floor and a desk would work – there is a desk attachment clamp included, which is sturdy and easy to set up and take apart. Best for . Serious simulation track racing for the equally serious racing enthusiast. 3. Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel. Simply the best racing wheel for sims. Compatible with: PS4/PS3/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 8kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 900 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: Yes | Expandable: Yes. An excellent wheel from Logitech, the G29 replaces the incredibly popular G27 wheel from previous generation PlayStations. The unit is designed specifically for PlayStation 4 gaming, and as such features additional buttons over the Xbox equivalent G920, namely a click wheel for adjusting brake balances on the fly, and positive/negative buttons for adjusting traction control (or whatever you map it to). Also new for this unit are coloured LEDs at the top of the steering wheel’s central column, which light up to tell you when it’s time to change gear (if supported by the game). The pedals are responsive and the brake pedal is non-linear, giving you a more realistic braking sensation than cheaper pedal sets. This is an excellent wheel for any PlayStation 4 gamer. It’s a pity the stick shifter is no longer built into the unit, but it isn’t massively expensive to buy it bundled-in on Amazon. This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to get the full driving experience in your home. Best for … Racing sims like Project CARS and Dirt Rally. Serious race fans will love it. 4. Logitech G920 Driving Force. A smooth, responsive wheel with great force feedback. Compatible with: Xbox One/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 7.21kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 1080 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: No | Expandable: Yes. This Xbox One wheel is super-smooth and feels superb to drive. It’s ergonomic (though keep in mind that any wheel will make unaccustomed hands sore after a few hours) and pleasantly slimline, while retaining a good, solid feel. Aside from the same handbrake-as-a-button problem as the Thrustmaster offerings, a unique area of consternation is the pedals. The unit we tried features an unusually stiff brake pedal, requiring immense pressure to get the brakes to engage. Reviews on Amazon suggest other people have the same criticism – something that isn’t true of the PS4 equivalent G29. You can usually reassign the brakes to the clutch pedal (which is included as standard on this wheel), but that’s not ideal if you’re a serious racing fan. Things are improved somewhat if you mount the pedals properly on a racing seat or on non-slip flooring like carpet, but it really shouldn’t be quite so stiff. Brakes aside, this is an otherwise exemplary force feedback steering wheel and one that will make any racing game more enjoyable… if not necessarily easier to play. Best for . Xbox One owners who want to feel the race, not just play it. 5. Thrustmaster TMX Force Feedback Racing Wheel. Entry-level force-feedback wheel for current-gen racing. Compatible with: Xbox One/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 0.998kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 900 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: No | Expandable: Yes. There’s absolutely no question that force feedback makes a huge difference to how fun a racing game is. Having the wheel push against your hands with varying degrees of resistance when you crash or steer gives you a realistic feel, and even evokes memories of arcade coin-op racers like Daytona USA. But the technology is expensive, meaning you need to be serious before buying… or at least you did. Thrustmaster has produced a cut-down, but still impressive force feedback wheel as an entry level purchase and it’s very desirable indeed. The pedals included are plasticky, and offer little resistance, and don’t include a clutch pedal either. However they can be swapped out for a better compatible set if you decide to upgrade later on. The steering wheel is similarly low-cost, and nowhere near as deluxe-feeling as the high-end units’ interchangeable wheels. And that force feedback? It’s not as strong as the other bases, but it does work. If you’re on a tight budget, this product provides a true force feedback wheel with 900 degrees of rotation and a set of pedals for your money, which is pretty darn awesome. Best for . Gamers who want force feedback steering but don’t have loads of money to drop on high-end rigs. 6. Thrustmaster T150 Force Feedback Wheel. Entry-level force feedback for PS4 with Ferrari branding. Compatible with: PS4/PS3/PC | Connection type: USB | Weight: 0.998kg | Force Feedback: Yes | Rumble: Yes | Maximum rotation angle: 900 degrees | Pedals included: Yes | Clutch pedal: No | Expandable: Yes. This is the PS4 version of the Xbox One’s TX unit. While there is a standard version of the T150, the Ferrari-branded set is actually cheaper at the moment on Amazon. And hey – who doesn’t like Ferrari? The Ferrari wheel’s red rubber grips look good too as well as offering comfort and control, and the slight flaring of the paddle shifters behind the wheel mean you can grip the wheel at either three/nine o’clock or a more controllable ’10-to-12’ position and still be able to comfortably shift gear when using manual transmission. The pedal unit is unchanged from the standard version and remains slightly thin-feeling and with far less resistance than the optional metal pedal set you can buy separately. But the unit does support a stick shift attachment if you elect to pay for one, and the pedals can be upgraded too. But even if you don’t do that, this is a fine way to get into simulation driving. Best for . PS4 gamers with limited budgets but who want a realistic racing feel. 7. Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel. The only budget option we would recommend on Xbox One. Right, let’s be clear about this: Budget-priced steering wheels are almost universally poor. Compatibility is rarely guaranteed, there’s no force feedback when you turn (sometimes there isn’t even rumble), pedals are flimsy and many don’t have a proper clamp to stop them sliding around. And don’t try playing with a wheel on your lap – I have and it’s awful. But this offering from Thrustmaster is a decent budget option for racing on Xbox One. It’s officially licensed, has linear resistance to inputs thanks to a bungee system (sounds high tech but it’s essentially internal rubber bands) and a clamp to secure it to a desk or racing seat. However, the diminutive 240 degrees of turning angle means this is more of an arcade-style controller rather than something you would seriously use for a racing sim. Sensitivity is an issue though there is the option to reduce this each time you play if you read the manual and set it up correctly. Still, it is more fun than using a control pad, and while it’s still more expensive than the cheapest wheels on the market, it’s the only budget-price wheel we would consider buying ourselves. GTA V PC Logitech G27 Support. Will the G27 work with GTA V PC? Please sign in to leave a comment. I cant get mine to work will anybody please help me :) Make sure after u run x360ce.exe to setup your controls you copy the 64bit libs into the root directory. Some times you also have to "unblock" the dlls for it to work. wanna explain how to use this program? you where a lil vague :) Extract x360ce.App-2.1.2.191.zip to a folder and run x360ce.exe. You can record your wheel inputs for each xbox button with the "record" pull down for each item. Once you program your throttle brakes, etc save and quit. The extract x360ce_lib64_r848_VS2010.zip over writing the existing DLL files. The right-click each dll and go to properties, and select "unblock" if need be. Then copy all of that to the root directory for GTAV. How do you make the steering linear? Right now there is a deadzone, I used the deadzone remover in advanced to get rid of that, but there is a huge exponential curve to the wheel and it makes it extremely difficult to use. I have tried playing with sensitivity and acceleration and all that to no avail. I wonder does the G27 have force feedback for this game? Its very important for me in gameplay experience. where do you get the mod from. @Maullar How do you make the steering linear? All you can do really is set "Left Analog X AntiDeadZone=0" to a comfortable number but it doesn't get rid of it completely. I set mine for around 3000. Make sure you use the 64 bit xinput file for the game. (IE all these files: x360ce.exe, x360.ini, and x_input.dll have to be in the gtav root directory) You need to download the app, the 32 and 64 bit libraries. Put the 32 bit libraries and x360 app in a folder. Run the x360.exe and it will create tine ini file for you. Program your buttons as you desire, than save. Since the app doesn't work with the 64 bit dill, you need to copy the 64 bit xinput.dll into the folder overwriting the 32 bit xinput.dll and then drag the entire folder into the root dir of GTAV. Here is a forum for the emulator with a lot of good info on how to use it: http://ngemu.com/forums/x360ce.140/ So far i have my KB+M for shooting, using g27 for driving, and have my x360 afterglow for flying all working together. 32bit - The 32-bit compiled DLL. You'll need to use this while editing your configurations because the front-end can't load the 64-bit dll. 64bit - The 64-bit compiled DLL. You'll need this for GTA V because if you try to use the 32-bit dll GTA V will just ignore it. App - The front-end tool for editing the configuration. @tsoprano12 All you can do really is set "Left Analog X AntiDeadZone=0" to a comfortable number but it doesn't get rid of it completely. I read someone said they totally eliminated the dead zone by programming the steering as one half an inverted axis, and the other non inverted. It would require setting the steering axis to inverted half axis, but i have yet to try this myself. @tsoprano12 Lol. Ok fine yes. That is the site they have moved to. I kept everything default and added a small amount of inverted sensitivity. I mentioned it one the reddit post. I have virtually no deadzone with almost linear curve. This is also with the in game sensitivity set to 0. @Maullar I kept everything default and added a small amount of inverted sensitivity. I mentioned it one the reddit post. I have virtually no deadzone with almost linear curve. This is also with the in game sensitivity set to 0. Oh fantastic. Where did you add the inverted sensitivity? Is that in the app or is that an in game setting? I also tried Left Analog X Linear=-61 and it seemed to make things a lot worse for some reason. @tsoprano12 Oh fantastic. Where did you add the inverted sensitivity? Is that in the app or is that an in game setting? You need to be using the new version. Delete all of the files you have for x360e and then unzip the new one into the root of gta5. Then run it. Do all the steps, then go to advanced. There should be a curve for sensitivity. Hit the invert button. You could also try adding in the line I mentioned in reddit. @Maullar You need to be using the new version. Say the front end may be newer, but the ini should be relatively the same. I edit the ini way more than i use the actualy app, would you mind posting your ini file g27 section so i can find the entry for that? @tsoprano12 Say the front end may be newer, but the ini should be relatively the same. I just edited the ini file and awesomeness no more dead zone, You would be correct. Enjoy. Make sure you change the in game sensitivity as well. You can change it to whatever you want, but I have it on the lowest possible setting. Huzzah, it works! I used the site posted by Maullar to d/l the 64bit version, extracted and placed it in GTA5 root directory, ran and set the buttons, sensitivity, etc, and it works! First GTA game I've been able to play with my wheel! I set my anti-dead zone to somewhere around 27%, and using Logitech Profiler, limited wheel max turn to 360 degrees, for a more arcadey-feel. A little sad that there isn't much "weight" to the wheel in-game. but I solved this by unplugging, then re-plugging the wheel into the computer while the game is on. Adds that "weight" back to the wheel, for a nicer feel. Hey guys, great info in this post, anyone know how to force centering spring on a G29? @ -Justice- Hey guys, great info in this post, anyone know how to force centering spring on a G29? You have to download the Logitech software and enable it in game settings/global settings. @Maullar You have to download the Logitech software and enable it in game settings/global settings. Cheers, installed the latest Logitech software but it only detects my mouse, not the G29. Soooo close to having it all perfect, if I could just reduce the centering strength I'd be in business. @ -Justice- Cheers, installed the latest Logitech software but it only detects my mouse, not the G29. Have you used the g29 before with pc? Is the power cable plugged in? Try plugging the USB DIRECTLY into a different USB port. Try starting up your pc with it plugged in. Try starting pc with unplugged then plug it back in. In device manager does it recognize the g29? @ -Justice- Cheers, installed the latest Logitech software but it only detects my mouse, not the G29. Did you download the drivers from here? What is version are you on? Do you have the Ps4/ps3 version or Xbox version? Did you download the drivers from here?
What is version are you on?
Do you have the Ps4/ps3 version or Xbox version? Thanks again for the responses. Yeah, I got the software/driver package from the official G29 support page you linked. I have the PS4/PS3 wheel. I spoke to Logitech support and they gave me the usual, disconnect/reconnect, uninstall any old Logitech software etc.. going to have a play over the weekend and see if I can get it to detect. Problem is atm I'm still on HDD for my OS and my restart/boot up time is horrendous, so restarting for testing is really painful. Is it risky in Online ? @TheWicked01 Is it risky in Online ? It actually doesn't modify any game code. It emulated gamepad input through a program. So it goes g25/29/27 -> Comp -> Software -> emulated gamepad -> game. So it's entirely separate from the game code. Playseat® gaming seat, the best place to put your steering wheel! Racing simulator buffs haven't exactly been spoilt for choice when it comes to affordable driving wheels on PC. While serious racing fans might lean toward a Fanatec setup or something similar, Logitech and Thrustmaster are the two most popular brands as they tend to offer more affordable packages. Logitech's G25 intrigued many when it arrived eight years ago with a 270mm leather-wrapped steering wheel, a set of stainless steel pedals and a separate shifter unit for $300. Three years later, the company replaced that model with the G27, which was based on the G25 but brought new features such as the use of helical gearing instead of straight gears, resulting in less noise and better steering response. Fast forward another five years and the G27 is still popular today as the racing package can be had for as little as $250, which is a bargain for a decent racing setup. The G27 is well known for its durability, quick force feedback and customizable button functions. Having been so long since Logitech first introduced the G27, we weren't surprised a few months ago when its successor was announced. Technically, there are two successors: the G29, which is compatible with PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and then the G920 is for the Xbox One as well as PC (the previous-generation "G" racing wheel was never compatible with Microsoft's consoles). Logitech says both wheels are built for longevity and that only quality materials have been used, though it has to be said that the new G29 and G920 don't look or sound radically different to the G27. An issue right out of the gate is the 'Driving Force Shifter', or rather lack thereof. This is now an optional item. Some of you might be thinking that's fine because you're going to use the flappy paddles anyway, so why pay for something you won't use? The issue is that the G29 and G920 have a suggested retail price of $400 and the Driving Force Shifter sells for an additional $60 while the old G27 includes the part in its $270 package, so that's worth keeping in mind as we go forward… G920 Driving Force. As we just mentioned, the Logitech G920 Driving Force is designed for use with the Xbox One and PC -- we're interested in the PC support, of course. With the exception of all the new buttons on the wheel, the G920 is similar to the much older G27. The steering gear housing is pretty much exactly the same and the hardware inside, such as the helical gears, are the same as far as we can tell. The G27 featured six small red buttons on the wheel which weren't that easy to access as they sat below your thumbs. The G920 improves on the number of buttons offered and their position. On the left side of the wheel users will find a D-pad which can be useful for navigation, while the opposite side features the Xbox A, B, X and Y buttons which can also be used on the PC for navigation and in game commands. Below the Xbox buttons there is a menu button, along with a 'right stick button' which gamers are free to configure. The opposite side features the 'view button' and 'left stick button' and while they are predefined, gamers are free to customize their function. At the bottom we have the 'Xbox button' and again on PC this can be programmed to do pretty much anything. Above the Xbox button there is a bright white LED which we found annoying and there doesn't appear to be a way to disable it. Finally behind the wheel are the flappy paddles, which should be used for shifting gears up and down, though if you're a cheater who plays with an automatic transmission then they can be assigned to some other function. Apart from the improved button layout the physical design and construction of the wheel is improved over the G27. The wheel is wrapped in real leather and features exposed black anodized metal which looks nice. Something missing from the G920 is the shift lights which were featured as standard on the G27 and for whatever reason come on the PlayStation version, the G29. The G920 offers 900-degree lock-to-lock steering which means you can turn the wheel two and a half times, which is the same degree of motion as a standard road car. The steering degree can of course be reduced to 360-degree lock-to-lock for games such as F1 2015. For fans of rally games Logitech has included a steering wheel stripe which acts as a visual indicator. This helps determine the direction the wheel is pointing from the driver's peripheral vision. A dual-motor system provides sharp and accurate force feedback that lets you feel the car's tires on every turn and type of terrain, sense under- or over-steer drifting and more. The stainless steel floor pedal system is almost identical to what comes with the G27 package though there are a few changes, mostly to the brake pedal. Logitech says the nonlinear brake pedal mimics the performance of a pressure-sensitive brake system for a more responsive, accurate braking feel. I imagine this provides a more realistic feel when driving an F1 car for example, which requires a lot of pedal force. However unless you mount the floor pedal unit to something this design is actually annoying. Because you have to push so hard, the unit just slides across the floor. There isn't anything under the unit to grip the floor, a large rubber pad would have been nice. In the end, I found myself having to use the clutch pedal as the break, which wasn't so bad for F1 2015 as it made sense, but wasn't ideal for other racing games such as Project CARS which features a range of GT cars.
