So much story, decisions, and customization, the way an RPG should be. However, the first game is the best in my opinion. If you have the time and patience to spend into this game I have no doubt that you'll agree as well. The first game is the most complex in terms of combat, weapons and armor. The latter games in the series have only removed from these categories. In addition if you're reading a review about Mass Effect 1 then I'm guessing you haven't played any of the games before. The combat is a bit rough, compared to the sequels. One of my most loved games of all-time. The first time i bought mass effect i had no clue what it was and i just knew i liked kotor so id give it a shot. But the first isnt the trilogy. Ive been a bioware fanboy since KotOR came out. (Still hoping for 3 btw. Or a reboot. I'd be fine with a reboot.) Sure you guys have had a few. issues. Who hasn't? The ME series is honestly one of your best. ME2 was the reason I chose an Xbox 360 over PS3. I've still got the discs. While I've been looking foreward to Andromeda, I'd still like to play the originals. 2 is hands down one of my all time favorites. I even really liked 3, except for the ending, cuz let's face it, it was terrible. I'd just go back to 360, but I'd have to buy a new one. I had my new mass effect game and that's all that mattered. But I can not, in good faith, recommened this game to others now that bioware has pulled all ongoing support for their single player mode. If Hello Games can continue to put out updates for No Man's Sky months after releasing despite mountains of bad press and reviews, I fail to see why bioware and EA can't at least give us the hinted at Quarian Ark DLC. This is such a beloved series, it breaks my heart to see the people making it treat the game as a quickly disregarded cash grab. The gameplay was enjoyable, but I found it difficult to maintain much interest in the main story. For a while I was playing and enjoying the multiplayer, even though the grind for characters and gear was a bit tedious. I completed my common and uncommon collections, and had 445 rare / ultra rare cards remaining to complete my list. This week's update added another 2096 cards, making a total of 2541 more cards. This was entirely demoralizing. First off, I don't think I would have completed the grind for the remaining 445 cards, as multiplayer gameplay was way too repetitive, which got old pretty quickly. However, adding such a large number of cards without improving gameplay or making it somehow more enjoyable has completely destroyed my desire to continue playing. I deleted the game and am not sure I will play it again. I am very disappointed with how game developers have latched onto the micro transaction / pay to win scheme. Gotta say, whether anyone likes it or not, it was a good step. The story isn't even that bad, but it's not the story the ME fans wanted, including me. Character appearance, even with smoother graphics, just doesn't look realistic, more cartoony than anything else. Honestly, a lot was done well, but key components, like the character appearance, the romantic features, and the story twist all change what Mass Effect was. This is also ignoring the fact that your starting character went from being a boss to being some kid who doesn't seem to know anything. I try to get into it, cause I'm an ME fan, but even with all the changes, good and bad, I can't really push through it. Its just an entirely different game to me now. Id be more persuaded to play the ME3 DLC than Andromeda. Pure garbage, series gutted for MP quick buck. the story seems to have been drawn up in a single extended sitting on the toilet. Rather than flush it, as they should, they built a game around this massive 3 flusher turd. Now, rather than providing a plunger, DLC, theyve offered us some polish, mp credit packs. at an additional cost of course. I have played all 3 ME games, numerous times, every class and option. I just finished the 10 hour demo on insanity. I watched some live streams, and didn't get as far as others got in 2 hours. I spent much more time exploring and talking to NPCs than questing. I found the characters to be interesting, even if they are not great. I didn't have any real frame rate issues. The combat was solid when there was cover, and brutal when there wasn't. I was playing a pretty much stock biotic w/ pistol/smg loadout. The facial animations are terrible, and in a story driven game that is a big problem. But I am the type that can ignore graphics issues if the game is engaging, and it was. I haven't been blown away like my first few hours in ME1, but I also haven't been as disappointed as in ME3. And it didn't take 10 hours for ME3 to make me regret all that work in ME1&2. First thing to know about this game is to drop ALL yuour expectations at the door, and go into this with no real expectations. The problem is the fact that EA and BioWare hyped this game beyond what it really is; A cool sci-fi game loosely based in the Mass Effect universe. If you go into it with just moderate expectations, you will have a great time. The graphics are certainly better, but the eyes could've been worked on more. I have heard great things about the Mass Effect franchise but had never played any of the previous games so this one is my first. As others have stated, it is a little glitchy here and there but I really enjoy the game. There is a lot do as far as the main story goes and the side missions. It looks like the Mass Effect trilogy is indeed heading to the Xbox One and PS4, if listings posted by Chilean retailer Zmart Games are anything to go by. First spotted by eagle-eyed NeoGAF user Rushersauce, the listings aren't accompanied by any solid information regarding release dates or prices. You can, however, sign up for notifications when more becomes available. Rumours of a remastered trilogy first emerged in March, when general manager of BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal studios Aaryn Flynn revealed that the topic had been "discussed." If a port of the popular sci-fi trilogy is indeed in development, it would be far from the first time a game had been leaked by a retailer (The Last of Us: Remastered anyone?). But to err is human, so as always, take this with a grain of salt. By all accounts, BioWare is hard at work on the next installment of the franchise. While release date details have yet to be revealed, we're due an update sometime this year. So far all we've had are a few teaser images, a promise that it will be fresh but recognisable, and may have nothing to do with Shepard. We'll update you with more information as it comes.
