ARK Survival Evolved UPDATE: New PS4 patch and Xbox One Aberration launch news.
A NEW ARK Survival Evolved update has landed on PS4, while the Xbox One is now available as another Crossplay title, following the release of the Aberration DLC.
The new ARK Survival Evolved update is out now on PS4 and Xbox One.
UPDATE ONE : Another new ARK Survival Evolved update has been released this week for PS4 and Xbox One.
Both include slightly different content, with the PlayStation patch focused on fixing a few different issues.
It's been confirmed by Studio Wildcard that the new PS4 Update brings clients (and local servers) up to date versus our Official Servers, with the patch resolving a crash, as well as fixing an exploit discovered with ziplines.
The new Xbox One update is bigger, weighing in at around 6.3GB to the base game and 1.4GB for Aberration.
While not including much new content, the new patch resolves the recent player-dedicated save issue, turret crash, as well as catching the client up a little to our server-side fixes.
The most current ARK Survival patch notes for Xbox One and PS4 can be found below:
Aberrant dinos set to downloadable on non-Aberration servers. Fix for Aberration player dedicated servers not saving. Added Basilisk saddle to Smithy-type crafting stations where it was meant to be. Fixed some Lantern Pet inventories mistakenly being flagged as Tribute Inventories. Fixed server language crash Reduced Cavewolf damage by approximately 40% Increased Wild Basilisk HP by 50% Increased Wild Reaper King Damages by 300% Made Aqua Shroom properly restore Water stat Added Nameless to certain areas of Biolum Chamber where they were missing Removed Piranhas from starting-area pool Fixed case where Aberration Endboss sometimes wouldn't appear on clients, also fixed similar issue with Ragnarok Endbosses Fix for Sarcos spawning in beginner portal pool Wild non-alpha Reaper Kings no longer grant XP Platform switch collision is improved to allow you to easily directly climb onto it with a ladder attached to the elevator track Wood elevator platform weight limit increased Wood elevator can now be lifted while it's falling to stop it, and you can now repeatedly click the lift command without having to re-open the action wheel Postprocessing Error fix Fixed a crash when looking at Turrets set to Survivors and Mounted Players.
Fixed Zipline collision issue which allowed players to get through map/structures. Requires Server Update. Fixed server crash with inventories.

New story content for ARK Survival Evolved [STUDIO WILDCARD]
While fans have been trying out the new content this week, Studio Wildcard have finally pulled the trigger on other big projects.
Today saw a new ARK Survival Evolved update on PS4, although no patch notes have been released for it.
While there are upcoming changes being made to the console version of the game, that patch is still listed as being in the certification process.
More could be revealed on the ARK 1.55 update on PS4 later this week.
Today also saw the big ARK Survival Evolved update the makes the game an official Xbox One Anywhere title.
It means that ARK has officially launched on the Windows 10 platform, and is now available to buy on the Microsoft Store.
This new version of ARK includes the base game along with 'Primitive+', 'The Center', and 'Ragnarok' mods, and Scorched Earth and Aberration DLC.
It also means that ARK Survival Evolved is now available as a Crossplay game as well.
A new ARK Survival Evolved update is out now on PS4.
And as you might expect, this doesn’t include the PS4 ARK Survival Evolved version.
Here’s more from Studio Wildcard on the subject: “Everything is tied to your Microsoft/Live account.
“This means that you can pick up your adventure wherever you left off, switching between your Xbox One and PC while dynamically taking your saved progress, Gamerscore, DLC, and achievements with you.
“With the release of Windows 10, comes a new exciting feature: CrossPlay (cross-platform online multiplayer).
“Whether it's playing on Xbox from the comfort of your sofa with a controller in hand, or at your Windows 10 Gaming Desktop, survivors with this Play Anywhere title can take advantage of CrossPlay and live on the ARK with their tribe across both platforms. You'll be able to tame, harvest, and dominate with each other!
“For those wanting to jump into the CrossPlay experience immediately, you can do so by browsing our Official Server network for matches titles 'CrossPlay'. We've launched 24 servers, a mixture of PvE and PvP, clustered by region available to play right now.

“(All Official Servers will become CrossPlay enabled in the future once BattlEye, or an equivalent Microsoft anti-cheat system, functions on the Windows 10 Store.) Also, you'll currently find a large quantity of player-hosted Dedicated & Non-Dedicated CrossPlay sessions to join.
“CrossPlay is enabled by default for anyone hosting a server via their consoles. You can disable it, by just unchecking the 'Enable CrossPlay' option when hosting a session! It'll appear in a dialogue box, after beginning to host a server.”
In a recent update earlier today, Wildcard confirmed that Crossplay is now good to go on Player Dedicated and Non-Dedicated servers.
However, there are also a few drawbacks to know about too.
Unofficial mods will not be available through the Windows 10 version of the game, due to the current lack of a User Generated Content storage and cloud delivery pipeline equivalent to the Steam Workshop.
If you want to experience a modded ARK right now, the best way to do so would be through the Steam version of the game.

ARK: Survival Evolved Xbox Ragnarok Update Live, Dino TLC Phase 2 Detailed.
ARK: Survival Evolved will get an updated Argentavis soon. The reworked beast has a new skin and the ability to carry more passengers. ARK: Survival Evolved is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Studio Wildcard.
ARK: Survival Evolved has just been updated with its big Ragnarok update on Xbox One, and Studio Wildcard has the official patch notes. In case you missed them when this content previously arrived on PC and PS4, here are the changes you can expect.
Ragnarok Map Update (99 percent completion)
Sand Dunes Coastal Reef Mountainous Green Desert A new weather system with lighting. Watch out while venturing into the desert. Puzzle Labyrinth (four of the artifacts previously found in the world have been moved here).
New default player spawn Increased Spino spawns Added more water spawns to existing areas Multiple bugs and map fixes Fix for Abberant Megalo eggs.
Ragnarok was the poster child for Studio Wildcard’s partnership with prominent ARK modders who wish to make official content. Now that the map is basically complete, it will be interesting to see if and how Wildcard establishes similar bonds in the future. This particular update arrived on PS4 in mid-January and debuted on PC at the end of December. After an extensive Microsoft certification process, Xbox players can finally see what the latest Ragnarok content is all about.
With the Ragnarok update cycle finished, ARK ’s next major addition beyond DLC expansions is a multi-phase rework called the Dino TLC update. During this round of patches, a select group of Dinos will receive more detailed physical skins and significant functional upgrades The first phase, which features the Direbear, Procoptodon, Gigantopithecus, Direwolf and Tyrannosaurus Rex, is tentatively salted for a PC release during the week of Feb 18. Wildcard recently posted on its blog to confirm the Dinos to be featured in phase two.
Here’s a quick recap of the upcoming changes.
The new Direbear will be able to harvest more honey. Photo: Studio Wildcard.
Direbear : Players will be immune to bees while riding one, and bees will target the bear. Honey can be gathered from hives without disturbing bees or their hives, and honey output will be doubled. Procoptodon : It will have reduced fall damage and increased carry weight. It will also be able to carry baby Dinos and other small Dinos in its pouch. It will gain a kick attack too. Gigantopithecus : It will do more damage to armor durability in combat, and it will gain the ability to jump to ziplines. It will be able to throw more accurately and carry small creatures on its shoulder. Direwolf : The Pack buff will operate for a limited time, but the wolves it attracts will be stronger. When the alpha howls, others will too. This might even work on wild wolves. Its nose can be used to locate creatures with health below 50 percent, explorer notes and concealed Dinos. T-Rex : Movement will be improved to reduce getting stuck. Roar will make the targeted creature poop, but both effects will operate on a cooldown.
Here’s what’s being considered for phase two.
The reworked Spinosaur will be more powerful around water. Photo: Studio Wildcard.
Argentavis : It gets a new saddle with reduced weight capability for many materials. It will also be able to carry two more passengers via its beak or talons. It will regenerate health quickly when eating corpses. Spinosaur : Can operate from a bipedal and quadruped stance. On two legs it will be slow but more suited for combat. It will be faster on four legs. Its movement speed, turning radius, attack damage and health regen will be buffed when fighting in water or shortly thereafter. It will also prefer Prime Fish for taming.
You can see a few of the new skin options above. Most of them add a lot more detail to the existing model.
ARK: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux.

Ark: Survival Evolved's latest Xbox One update brings split-screen multiplayer, new dinosaurs, and more to the prehistoric survival game. It also brings the Xbox One up to date with the PC version.
Developer Studio Wildcard announced in a press release that you can now play with a friend in split-screen offline or online on non-dedicated servers. Split-screen is a timed exclusive to the Xbox One.
With the new update, you'll be able to jump on the new dinosaur Gallimimus that can seat up to three passengers and run quickly. You can also take shelter behind the Dimetrodon's sail if you need to protect yourself from extreme climates,
Newly-added items include an Electric Prod weapon, SWAT-style armor, and beer barrels. You can brew various stat-enhancing beers, but you'll succumb to "hangover" effects after they wear off.
You can take a look at the full list of updates below:
Gallimimus, a three-seater dinosaur that can't defend itself, instead running at high speeds The carnivorous Dimetrodon which can shelter players from excessive heat and extreme cold with the sail running down its back Dung beetle that eats useless waste and uses it to produce burnable oil SWAT-style Assault Armor tier Electric Prod stunner weapon Greenhouse/Glass structure tileset Underwater loot crates Craftable beer kegs Bug fixes, performance update (
15%), fixed memory leak Non-dedicated servers now support up to eight survivors and 33% larger tether distance.
Ark: Survival Evolved is currently available on Xbox One and PC through Steam as part of each platform's "early access" programs. The full game will release this summer on both platforms and PlayStation 4.

A great character builder, you will be broken.
Survival is real with Hunger, dehydration, hypothermia, disease, and predators. The various beast can be both terrifying enemies and reliable comrades. Building in this world is only limited to the imagination of the individual. The world is vast, and contains secrets and rare resources that can be used to craft various items. These items range from stone age to futuristic technology. Clothing, tools, structures, weapons, an everything that is made can be painted to express unique style. HOWEVER, this game is not for the faint of heart. Everything in this game is EARNED through hard work and time. literal hours will be spent doing tedious things. YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. It is guaranteed. You are not cut out for this game if you cannot deal with adversity, loss, and helplessness. Online is brutal, you need nerves of steel. Between the dangerous environment and the even more viscous people, It takes extreme will power to conquer the ARK. All of this is why I haven't stopped playing.

Good for all gamer types.
This game seems to have everything for every player type. Want PvP? It has it. Want PvE? yep its got that too. How about some calming Casual Play? Not a problem. And for those that just like to build things there is tons of that in the game. It even has Solo/Privaate play for those lone wolves. Only thing i dont like is the Host link where you Absolutely must stay with the host at all times. Otherwise its a very well constructed game and very entertaining.

Still developing but love it :)
Love the game! Just a few things would make it even better. Lower tame times. keep it just as hard to bring the dino down but make it reasonable for the taming part. 6 hours is just crazy. 1 hour tops is reasonable for anything. 3 hours for breeding times. Make it easier to get the cure or at least make it storable. Swampfever is going to frustrate the newbies til they quit before they even can start loving the game. there goes your profits and player base. You need to focus on attracting and KEEPING new players. They will just quit if they get the fever and can't cure it easier. PVP servers should wipe every 3 months or so. Some tribes have become so entrenched that no one else has a chance on that server. eventually the server will just die without new players wanting to play on it. Give everyone a fresh start and new chance. PVE servers should have an admin to check on them every month or so. Someone to solve disputes without players kiting gigas to bases turning it to PVP.

Love the game, hate the community.
When I bought this game in pre release I had a few simple goals, build up with my friends, interact with cool people, and have fun. Unfortunately every time me and my friends try to play, we only get about a day in before a level 60 shows up and ruins all of our progress for no good reason at all. I understand the way the game is designed to have pvp and have no issues with getting raided every once in awhile, but I literally cannot start fresh in any servers due to high level trolls that ride wyverns up beaches to kill fresh spawns or some dude sprinting 600 mph with a club. I'd play in private. if there wasnt a tether for every person to stay within the host's range. Ark is so much fun and I'd like nothing more than to play it, but I keep losing everything I build if i can even survive long enough to build. To the devs please just either fix the tether problem, or allow the players to purchase and admin servers to keep out the bullies with too much time on their hands.

It's difficult yet fun, the variety of the dinos and animals is amazing. The graphics and framerate are iffy, but I can forgive an early access game for that. Honestly, the only issues I had were with other players. I'd often not be able to settle due to greater players destroying me despite me being miles away from any bases and having nothin better than a spear and a thatch hut. On some servers, I would spawn in just to be killed by spike traps conviniently placed on every spawn point in a certain zone. I'll keep playing, but I'll stick to single player.

Ark Survival Evolved Pros & Cons.
Ark Survival Evolved is by far my personal favorite game and i only want the best for the game and its developers. Of course there are a few problems with the game like a host barrier in non dedicated servers and there are not as many options as there should be for making your server statistics the way you want them or the way you feel they should be. I wish to see these things added and removed from the game. Thank you for many hours of dinosaur filled fun . ❤

please read this before you buy.
After a recent update the offical servers are now 2x everything making this game so much less of a grind. However playing solo is very tough and earning people's trust is also rough to get into a decent tribe. But- once you're in a good tribe then the real fun starts.

Great Overall BUT.
The game itself is phenomenal and the devs put a lot of time in the game and community. The game is also beautiful but it has intese glare. The game does lag, not enough to rage quit but enough to get frustrated. The AI sucks but the variety is great. Would recommend.

Good game, backstabbing developer.
The concept and execution were spot on, but wildcard stabbed the longtimers in the back. They charged us for DLCs after saying they wouldn't, they never gave us the story that was promised, and then they burned time and manpower on garbage like mods before they even fihished the actual product. Don't trust Wildcard: they'll eventually betray y'all too.

Awesome game, loads of fun, punishing at the begining. I hate that you can play every day and get 100+ hours but if you dont play for a week or two, all your animals will starve or be stolen and everything you built will be destroyed by other players. Really?? Thats my biggest complaint, ARK demands that you play it exclusively or else everything you've spent hours on will be for nothing.

A new free update has arrived for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Ark: Survival Evolved, adding weapons, gear, creatures, and more.
If you've been following the PC version, you'll already know what to expect from Update v257, which launched on computers earlier this month. There are new structures, including a Cloning Chamber that allows you clone creatures (with stats, level, and appearance intact) and a Megalodon Saddle that lets you ride the giant shark.
This update also adds the Tek Grenade (essentially a sticky grenade), new hairstyle and facial hair options, new music, and four creatures--including a giant bee. Meanwhile, the volcano has been redesigned and now leads to the Tek Cave's entrance.
You can get an overview for everything that's new in the trailer above and check out the full patch notes below.
ARK: Survival Evolved Console Update Adds New Dinos and More.
As ARK: Survival Evolved slowly inches its way from Early Access to its scheduled 2017 official release, Studio Wildcard has taken the next big step in the form of a brand new major content update for consoles.
Titled the “v255” update, this patch was previously released to PC owners last month and is now available for free to all PlayStation 4 players. Xbox One players will have to wait just a little longer to receive this new ARK: Survival Evolved patch, but Studio Wildcard states that it is coming “ very, very soon “.
The “v255” update will add in a plethora of new TEK tier technology into ARK: Survival Evolved , including a complete set of TEK building structures, a TEK forcefield, and customizable TEK autodoors that add an extra finishing touch to a player’s base. In addition to new technologies and base customization options, the latest update will also offer up new Survivor cosmetic customizations, such as hairstyle and beard options.
Perhaps most notably, the “v255” update will also add in four new creatures into the game’s expansive dinosaur list: El ectrophorus Beluadomito – A species of Knifefish, that uses an electrical charge to zap its prey, bringing down smaller fish and eels. Microraptor Gnarilongus – Resembling a bird with a reptilian face, Microraptor is a vicious predator that is instantly aggressive to anything its size or smaller (including humans). Ammonitina Multiamicus – One of the more unique creatures of the sea, the Ammonite resembles a nautilus, only much, much bigger. For unknown reasons, an attack on an Ammonite brings forth the wrath of all neighboring sea creatures, who will fervently defend it. Thylacoleo Furtimorsus – Also known as the “marsupial lion”, the Thylacoleo is a powerful predator native to the island’s redwood forests.
The update also features a few minor additions and fixes, such as over 30 new explorer notes, improved server performance, and an option for a per-Tribe Dino Tame limit.
This latest update is bound to be a welcome addition for all ARK: Survival Evolved fans, given that the game already contains a considerable amount of content. Of course, this only scrapes the tip of the iceberg when it comes to content in ARK: Survival Evolved as Studio Wildcard plans to introduce a new paid modder program, which means even more content for an already-massive game (that is technically still incomplete).
It remains to be seen how successful ARK: Survival Evolved will ultimately be once it is officially released, but based on the constant slew of content updates and the million copies already sold on the PlayStation 4, all signs are looking promising for the upcoming open-world dinosaur title.
ARK: Survival Evolved leaves Early Access to officially release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later in 2017.

‘Ark: Survival Evolved’ PS4, Xbox One Updates Release Today - ETA & Patch Notes Revealed.
'Ark: Survival Evolved' is getting a new PS4 and Xbox One update that adds four new Dinos, the Tek Cave and the "Ascension" ending. It will be augmented by smaller patches in the future. 'Ark: Survival Evolved' is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Photo: Studio Wildcard.
Ark: Survival Evolved is getting a huge update Wednesday across PS4 and Xbox One, and we finally know when the patch will go live on both platforms. Xbox One owners will get the content first at 4 p.m. EDT, while PS4 will follow slightly later at 4:30 p.m. We’ve listed what we assume to be the final patch notes below.
Console patches are expected to go live today at 4pm EST (Xbox) and 4:30pm EST (PS4). See you then!
Upcoming Version Will Be 1.20 On PS4, v754 on Xbox One.
TEK Cave & Volcano New Dino: Giant Bee: Can be tamed to construct a nest that can be harvested for honey. The honey can then be used as mammal bait. New Dino: Daeodon: A dog-like creature that travels in packs and can heal itself and nearby allies very quickly. It requires lots of food. New Dino: Liopleurodon: An average marine tame that can stay underwater for a long time. New Dino: Kentrosaurus: Survivors can’t ride it, but it’s a solid base defense. New Structure: Tek Cloning Chamber New Structure: Tek Megalodon Saddle New Structure: Tek Turret New Weapon: Tek Grenade "Ascension" Game Progression More UI overhauls New Hairstyle and Facial Hair Approximately 20+ New Explorer Notes 15 new music tracks, per-biome and situational Fixed issue with Cave spawns not functioning properly in singleplayer The Center mega-update Engram Tree REVAMP. -- With the forced level reset and cap at 100, Unofficials which have custom Levels/EXP will need to add an additional 15 levels to make up for Ascension. New Emote Anglers can now gather pearls.
In few words, the console update coming to Ark Wednesday brings the PS4 and Xbox One versions in line with what’s currently happening on PC. This includes the Tek Cave with its controversial “Ascension” ending for the game. It’s been said that, while it gets the job done, the current conclusion is just a placeholder for what will be available in the final game.
As those who follow Ark closely will know, this PS4 and Xbox One update was supposed to go live Tuesday. However, mere hours before release, Microsoft contacted the game’s developers at Studio Wildcard to inform them of “critical issues” that needed to be fixed first. The PS4 version, on the other hand, simply needed more time for polish until it was ready for publishing.
While Ark: Survival Evolved is nearing requirements for its retail release, this won’t be its final major early access update on all platforms. Just a few hours ago, studio co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz teased the addition of a new structure that seems to have something to do with scooping. There’s been lots of chatter about dynamic bridges within the community.
Ark: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux. For even more content, feel free to check out our updated underwater base building guide.
