Community Content Manager. The mod limits implemented this week to Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition has been put in place based on our internal testing for stability to the game. With the new caps, some players will not be able to reach the full storage limit for mods, but the additional storage capacity will allow for you to have larger mods within the 150/100 cap. This is a starting point, and it may be adjusted. The new cap does not impact your library, just how many mods you can have running at one time. Individual mods can be disabled in your library to make room, and will be waiting there if you want to reconfigure your mods later. We understand this is a frustration point for all of you. Like all of you, we’re still new to the process of allowing mods on consoles and working on ways to improve the experience over time. We will be continuing to update both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition with new updates pertaining to mods, and if we’re able to address these concerns, we will provide information through future release notes. Assistant Director, Community Lead @ Bethesda Softworks. The 50 Best Skyrim Special Edition Xbox One Mods You Can Get. The release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on the Xbox One means that you’ll get to enjoy mods with your RPG experience on consoles. Here are the best mods available right now. Now this may sound like a silly mod to include on a list of best mods to get, but if you’ve played Skyrim before, then you know Honey can be difficult to come by and stealing from Golden Glow Estate isn’t always a smart move.. Placing these bee hives in front of Honningbrew Meadery is a stroke of genius. The Paarthurnax Dilemma. If you’re anything like us, you may have grown fond of the dragon sitting atop the Throat of the World. Once you complete the main story you’re forced to kill him if you want to do every quest, but this mod allows you to complete the same quest in a way that keeps your flying buddy alive. Aethernautics: A Space Travel Mod. You know what Skyrim doesn’t have enought of? Spaceships. In fact, it doesn’t really have any, at least not until you install this amazing mod that adds a usable ship which can serve as your base, and a pretty cool questline. Did we mention that you can call in orbital strikes with it, too? Alternate Start – Live Another Life. Alternate Start is one of those mods that really transforms how you experience a game. You’ll be able to be something other than a prisoner at the beginning of Skyrim and see where life takes you from there. Disable Cinematic Kills. Cinematic Kills are great at first, but they can really put a dampener on the immersion. This simple mod allows you to disable them so you can keep it moving without any odd interruptions. Skyrim Scroll Crafting. Using magic is great in Skyrim except for the part where you have to level up each school independently and deal with long casting times (as well as large magika use). This mod lets you craft every scroll in the game so you can cast spells all willy nilly while focusing on leveling up other skills. The name may be difficult to pronounce, but it adds a new robotic companion that has a ton of dialogue, custom armor, clever interactions, and an interesting quest line. Slave Pack Riekling Porter. This mod allows you to unlock a Riekling porter who will tag along and carry all of the junk you pick up during your adventures. Campfire: Complete Campin System. The campfire mod adds a survival system to Skyrim which allows you to set up camp, build fires, hunt with new abilities, and more. It’s a new, and interesting, way to experience the world Bethesda has created. Bringing up your map while exploring the world can really spoil the immersion, but it’s almost impossible to navigate the roads without doing so. The Point the Way mod adds accurate road signs to intersections so you can stay in the world and rely much less on pesky maps. The Forgotten City. The Forgotten City is an award-winning, fan-created expansion to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. You’ll get to enjoy new dungeons that are full of mysteries, new story segments, and multiple endings. Rich Merchants of Skyrim: Special Edition. This mod does just what you’d expect. It gives every merchant in the game 10,000 gold so they can finally be able to afford all the junk you’re selling. This is another mod that adds a sizeable amount of story content to the game while also introducing new elements such as a fully functional train, enemies, and weapons. You can never have too much storage in Skyrim thanks to all of the Daedric Artifacts, cool weapons, and stealable items in the game. Dovahkiin Keep provides tons of chests, mannequins, and other means of displaying your spoils. With all of the new adventures and enemies you’ll be up against thanks to the addition of mods on the Xbox One, you’ll want some really powerful gear to help you run right through. That’s where God Gear comes in to make you into an unstoppable badass. Dwemer Goggles and Scouter. The items added in through this mod are nothing short of awesome. Both give the ability to sense NPCs through walls though they each have their own nuances. The Goggles let you see at night, and the Scouter works like the ones you’ve seen in Dragon Ball Z. They highlight enemies and even color code them based on their threat level. Ys Spell Tweaks. These tweaks make being a mage even more enjoyable thanks to new abilities, lower cast times, and improved animations. Elemental Destruction Magic. Now that you have an improved magic experience, why not throw in some powerful spells based around earth, water, and wind? Open Cities Skyrim. This is an ambitious mod , but one that really ups the level of immersion in Skyrim. You’ll be able to trot right into cities from the open world without any load screens, turning the entirety of the country into one big area. Mortal Wounds: No Health Regeneration & Hardcore Difficulty. If you’re a returning visitor to Skyrim with the release of the Special Edition you may want a bit more of a challenge. The Mortal Wounds mod removes your ability to heal naturally, forcing you to be more thoughtful about your approach and to bring restorative items. It also makes combat faster and more deadly. The Ring of God Mode. Sometimes you just want to run free and decimate anyone that crosses you. Of course, you can be kind of squishy in Skyrim. This mod solves that problem for you with some drastically increased stats. God Tier Weapons and Heavy Armor. So you don’t want to make yourself invincible or anything like that but you do want god-like power to suit your high level. That’s where this mod comes in to equip you in some serious badassery. 150% Jumping & Sprinting. This mod allows you to jump 50% higher and run for 50% longer. It’s simple, but jumping over enemies never gets old. It also makes climbing a whole lot easier. Legendary Creatures adds powerful enemies to the world of Skyrim that guard equally powerful armor, weapons, and spells. Perk Point Book. This mod adds a book that resembles Oghma Infinium and allows you to increase your perk points. You can read it an infinite amount of times to keep gaining more and more points. Unlimited Werewolf Transformations. It’s silly to only be allowed to transform once per day after all the work you put in to gain the werewolf power in the first place. Unlimited Werewolf Transformations allows you to howl into the sky as often as you want. Thunderchild – Epic Shouts and Immersion. You can never have too many ways to yell at enemies and watch them perish. This mod adds 31 new amazing shouts. Skyrim can struggle to run at times on the Xbox One. Thankfully, someone came up with a way to help things run a lot smoother. Triss & Yennerfer Armor Mod. This does exactly what the title says. It gives you highly detailed armor resembling the outfits that both Triss and Yennefer wore in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Unlimited Weapon Charges. A simple mod that allows you to use enchantments as much as you want without having to go into menus to charge them. Climates of Tamriel adds a lot more beauty to the world of Skyrim through nature. New cloud textures and hundreds of weather variations make the world feel more vivid and alive. This mod replaces Fus-Ro-Dah with Shai Labeouf’s “just do it.” It’s a great way to deal with guards and pesky bandits. Tired of not having enough options when interacting with followers? Amazing Follower Tweaks fixes that with tons of new options that let you ask for exactly what you want. The Death Knight of Tamriel is a wicked set of armor for your hero that will strike fear into the hearts of all your enemies. Ever wanted to just be Artorias the Abysswalker and feel like a badass? Well, now you can… in Skyrim at least. The world of Skyrim can get really dark, and having to cast a spell to see isn’t always fun. Now you can wear a lantern around and see everything around you. This mod adds powerful bosses to the game to help you test your skills and abilities. The world of Skyrim can be a bit barren. This mod adds some flora to the environment turning the entire world into a beautiful garden. The Map in Skyrim has never been the best, but with this mod you’ll be able to see roads and obstacles clearly. Sofia is a fully voiced follower that is helpful and hilarious. Inigo is a Khajit follower who is very powerful and doesn’t affect your follower count so he can join you alongside Sofia. You can never have too many followers. Mods that add more to the beauty of Skyrim are always worth downloading. Skyland is a complete texture overhaul that adds an extra dash of realism to the experience. Unique Uniques changes the appearance of many weapons to give them more of a legendary and exotic feel. More atmosphere is never a bad thing. The Vivid Weathers mod makes all of the weather effects look even more realistic. Feel like royalty with some beautiful Cloaks and Capes. Shouting is cool and all, but sometimes you just want to feel like Goku when taking on a dragon. The Super Kamehameha helps you accomplish just that. Frostfall: Hypothermia Camping Survival dials the difficulty of the world up to 11 by taking freezing weather into consideration making survival way more immersive. Who doesn’t like chopping up enemies with light sabers? The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is on the way, but perhaps you like a bit more maturity in your adventures. Bring a piece of Link’s adventure into Skyrim with the Temple of Time complete with Master Sword, Epona, new characters, and more. The Dwemer Storage Cube is a home you pull out of your pocket. Simply interact with it in your inventory and you’re transported to a safe haven where you can store gear and more. The Paarthurnax Dilemma. Check Out More. Here Are All the Skyrim: Special Edition Mods on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (So Far) The selection may be somewhat limited at launch, particularly on PS4. Last updated by Chris Pereira on October 27, 2016 at 2:57PM. You are now subscribed. Skyrim: Special Edition unlocks in a matter of hours, launching on all three platforms--PS4, Xbox One, and PC--with mod support. Bethesda's website already has a list of all the mods that are currently available, giving you a chance to peruse before the game arrives. Among those you'll currently find are ones adding a new difficulty level, removing health regeneration, expanding villages, and making named dogs invincible (because who needs a dead dog on their conscience?). If you come across any you're interested in on Bethesda's website, you can add them to your library right from there. The-Reko's Black Mage Armor SE mod for PC/Xbox One. The 209 mods available as of this writing can all be seen here. Xbox One currently has the most with 100, while PS4 has by far the least, with just 27. (It's worth noting that PC players don't have to rely on Bethesda's workshop to download mods.) Xbox One and PS4 mods are more limited than those on PC, as the consoles have storage limits of 5 GB and 1 GB, respectively. More importantly, PS4 mods are restricted to using in-game assets; modders can't create their own work from scratch or craft scripts that are often used for more complex creations (and some simpler ones). This limitation is seemingly part of the deal Bethesda struck with Sony in order to allow mods on the platform in Skyrim and Fallout 4. Some modders have expressed a lack of interest in developing mods for PS4 due to the restrictions. It remains to be seen how much the PS4 mod scene will suffer, or if players disappointed with what's offered put additional pressure on Sony to ease up on its restrictions. Skyrim Special Edition: best mods on PS4 and Xbox One. By Staff, Wednesday, 12 April 2017 13:05 GMT. Skyrim Special Edition: best mods on PS4 and Xbox One. Skyrim Special Edition has finally landed on consoles and PC and with it brings mods to both PS4 and Xbox One. If you need a quick refresh on how to get those mods, it’s fairly easy, just hit up the official site and filter by your platform of choice. From there you can download to you console (proivded you have a Bethesda.net ID). But what mods to choose? We’ve trawled through the 5700-plus available mods for consoles and found a wide range of additions to improve the base game. Some fix problems, others introduce new magic and weapons or make life just that little bit more convenient for the adventurer. A few introduce entirely new locations and quests. Let us know if you’re enjoying other mods and we’ll check them out and update as we discover more. Modders patch the bugs that Bethesda doesn’t. We’re not saying Bethesda games are notorious for being buggy, but Bethesda games are notorious for being buggy. Which is why you need the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch. Updated regularly, this mod aims to fix as many bugs and glitches in Skyrim Special Edition as possible, from text and NPC bugs to quest and gameplay problems. You can read a full changelog here and it’s huge, which is why the authors are asking you to help them by reporting any bugs to them. They’re doing you a massive favour with this patch, so let’s all get involved and spread the love. Visit the award-winning Forgotten City. Returning to Skyrim isn’t just about returning to familiar places. In fact, if you’ve trampled around Skyrim for hours in a previous console life, why not visit an entirely new area and try original quests? The Forgotten City mod is an award-winning expansion to Skyrim offering up 8 hours worth of new adventures. Full of puzzles, dilemas, great storytelling, an original score and multiple endings, it’s a fantastic and worthy addition to The Elder Scrolls world. You only need to be level 5 or above to experience it, so we recommend checking it out at the very least to see what a dedicated modding community can build. Craft all 85 scrolls in the game. The problem with magic in Skyrim is that it takes an age to level up and get the best spells, and it uses an absolute wedge of magika for the really cool high level spells. Well, this Scroll Crafting mod is the only thing budding Gandalfs need, empowering players to create pure magic build characters from the off. It caters to 85 craftable scrolls and creates a player dungeon in the College of Winterhold, which brings with it a new perk system, complete with inscription table and chest to keep your scrolls and materials safe. Oh, and there’s a the ability to create paper rolls for scroll crafting and a crafting book to ensure you have everything you need to cook up a batch of magic for your adventures. Cheat your way to success with the Cheat Room. There’s a fairly decent chance that you could be playing Skyrim: Special Edition having played in the world of Skyrim many times before. This is a best-selling PS3 and Xbox 360 game, after all – and if that’s the case, you may want to give yourself a leg up. For that, there’s The Cheat Room – which does pretty much exactly what you’d expect it to do, to be honest. The cheat room keeps things nice and simple – this Xbox One exclusive mod gives you access to a single room and gives you access to a spell that you can cast to teleport yourself in there. Inside you’ll find every item in the game, plus triggers that can let you duplicate items, level yourself up, learn every shout, add money – all that good stuff. On top of that the room even offers you access to special triggers that’ll let you modify the game in ways similar to how PC users with console access can – change levels, spawn characters, change relationships, change your character’s appearance – whatever you want. Useful! Use new Elemental Destruction magic. Destruction magic is the main damage-dealer for mages in Skyrim, but the base game only comes with three different types: fire, frost and shock. If you’re building out a pure magic character for your adventures, you’re going to want a little more oomph to your open palms. Which is where the Elemental Destruction Magic mod comes in. It adds 30 Earth, Water and Wind Destruction spells to the game, along with three weapon and three armour enhancements and a Dragon Priest mask for each element. You don’t get all of this for free though. Just like the regular game you’ll need to level up your destruction skill to get the better magic, and all spells need to be bought or found. Faralda at the College of Winterhold sells all the spells but there’s also a chance you’ll find enchanted weapons with these new spells as loot. Be warned though; enemies will also have the ability to use these spells too – they’re not strictly for the player. Invite sassy Sofia along as your new favourite companion. The Skyrim companions are a generally nice bunch. They don’t say alot, but there’s no denying they’re useful in a fight, and can carry all that extra loot when you’re deep in the darkest of dungeons. But you know, they lack the personality to really create a magical rapport as you wander across Skyrim. Enter Sofia, the modded companion with attitude. Fully voiced, forever sarcastic, boastful and a tease, Sofia will liven up your adventures with her custom dialogue and rebellious spirit. She’s great fun, and is likely to become your new BFF as you kick it across the wilderness together. Improve the NPC AI across the board. Bethesda’s radiant AI system for its open world games was pretty state of the art when it made its debut back in Oblivion, and while it has been upgraded and still impresses in some ways it’s probably quite fair to say it’s not quite as impressive now as it used to be. Luckily for us some fans have been beavering away trying to improve the AI of the citizens of Skyrim. The Immersive Citizens mod is available in both PS4 and Xbox One variants. It improves NPC behavior across the board, making them more unpredictable in their actions and making them react to things like weather and other external stimuli. Most importantly, this mod also changes how NPCs react to combat and being under threat. NPCs will evaluate dangerous situations and if they think they’re about to be crushed they’ll try to run away to a safe place, usually a building within a city. If you’re using it with some other types of mod be aware there may be clashes – they’re listed in detail on the Immersive Citizens mod page. Claim these lethal Power Greatswords. Surprises are cool so let’s not spoil anything here. The Power Greatswords mod adds four new two-handed blades to the game for you to use, and it’s fair to say they are pretty damn lethal . As well as not saying exactly what they do in terms of damage, you’re also going to have to find them in Skyrim (although if you know the game it’s not that tricky). The Big Blue Greatsword, BloodNord Blade, and Blue Night Greatsword are found near an NPC witch, and the Dragon Greatsword… well, the clue’s in the name. Good luck hunting them down. Fight for your life with hardcore difficulty and mortal wounds. Difficulty in Skyrim is a bit warped. Higher level enemies are deadly, but they can also take an absolute age to kill. Whacking a hagraven 50 times just isn’t fun. This Hardcore Difficulty mod adjusts the unfair Legendary, Master and Expert settings. At Legendary difficulty you’ll be dealing 4 times the normal damage – but so will your enemies – meaning fights are a lot more tense and deadly. Combine this with the Mortal Wounds mod, meaning you won’t regenerate health, and combat becomes a much more thrilling experience in Skyrim. Speed up that EXP bar for faster levelling. Earlier on we’ve listed a few cheat mods that let you cheat in a more outright and brazen way, but if you want something a little lighter-touch, perhaps just increasing the leveling curve of the game across the board is more your speed. The Faster Levelling mod does just that – no fuss, no messing about – it just increases the rate at which your skills level up, making your skills advance over twice as quickly as they do in the vanilla game. While other mods give you access to this kind of feature-set alongside other potentially tempting cheats that you might not want to use, this mod just does this and only this – removing the temptation. It’s available in both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. Visit Conan and hear the lamentation of the women. This is perfect for all the Conan fans out there. The Conan Hyborian Age mod adds an entire new dungeon and quest to Skyrim, based on the 1982 movie and featuring replica movie props and the big man himself – although you can’t play as Conan, he’s just an NPC. It’s a great package, with the quest featuring original battle music, Conan lore on the loading screens, new bosses and enemies and the kind of attention to detail that shows a real love for modding and the source material. Calm down annoying animals. You know how it is. You’re on a quest, fully focused on reaching your objective, adjusting your plan of attack in your mind, when out of the blue a bunch of friggin’ mudcrabs start giving it large. I’m not starting any trouble, so what’s up with these aggressive little sods having a pop at me? The Less Aggressive Animals mod calms everyone down. It neuters some of the most annoying creatures in Skyrim; mudcrabs, skeevers, wolves and spriggans. And it also makes bears, horkers, giants, mammoths and sabre cats more cautious. They won’t attack on sight, but they will defend themselves if you get too close. Now you can go about your dungeon raiding business without sneak attacks from the local wildlife. Carry more loot. Fact: there is never enough space to carry everything you want in any RPG. You start off with good intentions. “I’ll only carry what I need and my favourite weapons,” you tell yourself. But within half an hour you carry everything on the off chance some old biddy in the next town will gift you an amazing weapon if you give her a mundane item. And you’re paranoid about anything you leave behind incase you need it 67 hours later. The next thing you know you’re walking like a slug and sifting through your backpack throwing out all kinds of junk. Which his where the Ring of Increased Carry Weight comes in. It actually give you two rings; one with an extra 1,000 carry weight capacity, and another offering an extra million . Yeah, that should do it. Buy the ring from Belethor’s place in Whiterun and horde away like the little magpie you are. Find your way more easily. Sure, you’ve got a map, but that doesn’t list a lot of the smaller places in Skyrim. And lots of roads, paths and intersections are just completely unmarked. How are you meant to find your way around? Enter the Point The Way mod, which litters the world with signposts and directions, making your travels a damn-sight less frustrating. Simple, and incredibly useful. Let’s talk about our feelings. If you’re going to be spending hours in Skyrim you’re going to want to hear more varied conversation. The inhabitants of Whiterun aren’t that chatty and you’ll soon hear the same dialogue repeated over and over again. The Relationship Dialogue Overhaul is here to save your sanity. It adds over 5,000 new lines of dialogue from 42 different voice types, for friends, spouses, rivals and followers – the people you overhear all the time, basically. Friends will recognise you more often and have more to say, followers will comment during combat, and the mod corrects mistakes with the original dialogue as well as using speech that has been hidden away in-game. It’s one big social mod and you should use it to make the world of Skyrim come alive. Exploit the capitalist system. There you are with a backpack full of goodies after a long day adventuring. You’re going to sell them and make a fortune, and then use that money to buy some sweet-ass armour. Then you get to the local merchant and realise the dude behind the counter can’t even begin to afford your goods. Which is where the Rich Merchants of Skyrim mod comes in. It increases the amount of money a shop has, meaning it can afford to buy all that loot you’ve been chugging around for days, dangerously close to your maximum inventory weight. Sorted. Light the way better with the Lampposts of Skyrim. Sometimes the smallest change can seriously up your immersion, and Lampposts of Skyrim is one of those mods that not only increases immersion but actually features a smart change that adds something to the game in ease-of-use terms, too. Put simply, this mod adds lampposts to many of the roads around Skyrim. It doesn’t exactly make sense that officially-laid roads near towns would be pitch-black at night, and so this mod fixes that. This helps with immersion but also is useful – these lampposts make it easier to travel at night, and help you to stick to or keep away from the roads depending on your inclination. There are PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the mod available. Restore a whole bunch of missing content. For whatever reasons, there’s a whole bunch of content hidden away in Skyrim’s code that just never made it to the final game. The Cutting Room Floor mod restores a lot of it, bringing back NPCs, locations, and finishing up some questlines that you would otherwise never see in the vanilla version of the game. Now you’ll feel like you’re getting the full Skyrim experience. Turn Skyrim into a survival game. Frostfall: Hypothermia Camping Survival is one of the highest-rated mods for PC Skyrim for good reason. It essentially turns Skyrim into a survival sim, with three new mechanics based on camping, cold water and hypothermia. You can tweak these to your own specifications, and go as hardcore as you like with them. It also adds new spells, an endurance skill, snow and ice effects and disables fast travel if you want to play really hardcore. If you’re looking to immerse yourself deeper in the world of Skyrim, Forstfall is an absolute must. More crafting options for thieves and archers. Crafting is actually pretty good in Skyrim, and very useful for most builds. But for those of us who like to play it a bit more stealthily, there’s not a lot to craft for our weapon of choice – the bow – and you can never have enough lockpicks, right? Sure enough then, Ars Metallica helps solve that problem. It basically lets you craft more arrows using common resources, as well as making lockpicks and providing skill advancement for using the forge itself. Burp and fart more. We’re all for more realism in games. The beauty of the Immersive Indigestion mod is that the person who created it really put their all into it: “some of the sounds I created myself using my own indigestion.” That’s dedication for you. So with this mod NPCs will now burp and fart when they are around you, usually when they are exerting themselves, such as when swinging weapons. That’s it really. A guffing and grumbling mod. Excellent. Explore Falskaar. Now this is a mod. Falskaar adds a whole new land mass to Skyrim, complete with NPCs and dungeons to explore with its 26 new quests. There’s over 20 hours worth of game here according to the creators, as well as additional spells and a new shout, to round out the package. It’s not so much a mod as an unofficial expansion pack to the game. Go get it. Add 370 new spells. This one is strictly for the mages. The Phenderix Magic Evolved mod adds 370+ new spells to the game, making mages the most powerful class in Skyrim. Spells are varied and creative, with a whole new range of archetypes including poison, darkness, spirit, blood and summoning. Want to summon any creature in Skyrim? Now you can. Want to continue to dual-wield weapons while using magic as a power? Oh yes. Also, you can turn an enemy into a chicken. If wizarding is your thing, you need to be all over this. Brush your shoulders off. Skyrim’s not exactly the place you’re going to get a suntan, but it’s only on the higher hills and peaks that the snow feels deep under foot. Weather effects aren’t really reflected on your character unfortunately, which breaks the illusions somewhat. So this simple Rain and Snow FX mod is a really nice way of adding a layer of snow to your hero’s shoulders, or have water drip from your adventurer’s clothes when they clamber out of water. A very nice little touch. Cheat and carry everything you could possibly want. Sometimes you’ve got to act like a spoilt child and have everything now . The minimally-named Cheat Mod gives you a container in the Warmaiden’s forge in Whiterun, where you will find 1000 of every crafting ingredient. It also gives you strongboxes with 100,000 pieces of gold and a ring that boosts your carry weight by 500,000. Why would you need such a large carry weight? Because you also get access to every single item in the game via a new room. Fill your boots! Wield Sauron’s mace and other legendary weapons. Every fantasy role-playing game owes a lot to JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, of that there is no doubt. Now you can partially recreate some of that original magic by using the LOTR Weapon Collection mod, which as its name suggests adds weapons from the classic stories. Here you’ll find Sting, Sauron’s mace, Wraith greatswords, Legolas’ bow and more. Try an entirely new alternate start. Playing Skrim for a second time but want a completely fresh start? The Live Another Life mod allows you do exactly that. You will not be on that wagon, heading for the chop before a dragon attacks and throws everything into chaos. There are over 150 Skyrim Special Edition mods we think you should try on your PS4 and Xbox One in 2018. As we push deeper in 2018 Skyrim Special Edition owners can no longer rely on Bethesda for new, free content. The company hasn’t confirmed any new feature updates and the last update, version 1.5.24, was focused on fixing bugs and delivering support for Microsoft’s Xbox One X. The company’s new Creation Club for Skyrim delivers new downloadable content, but the content isn’t free. If you want new, free content to Skyrim Special edition you’ll have to rely on the Skyrim modding community. Skyrim Special Edition mods can change your game in a variety of different ways. Some mods make small tweaks to the game. Other mods deliver new items, characters, and graphical changes to Skyrim Special Edition. Bethesda’s catalog now features well over 10,000 mods. That’s an amazing statistic, but if you’re starting the game for the first time, it can be overwhelming. We want to help you narrow it down with a list of the best Skyrim mods we’ve come across for PS4 and Xbox One. Best Xbox One & PS4 Skyrim Mods. In this extensive list of Xbox and PS4 Skyrim mods, we’ll highlight more than 150 of our favorite mods for both consoles. Before you dig in note that PS4 Skyrim mods are more limited than Xbox One mods. This is because PS4 mod developers can’t use external assets. Each slide notes the mod’s status for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Many of these are exclusive to Microsoft’s console. We’ll continue to add new mods to this list so be on the lookout for updates as we push deeper into the year. A Quality Map. One of our favorite Skyrim mods for PC is now available for console. A Quality World Map by IcePenguin is an essential mod for PC. And now that it's available for console, it's an essential mod for Xbox One. (It's not available for PS4 yet.) Bethesda's vanilla Skyrim map is decent enough but this mod takes it to the next level with improved textures and detailed roads. The developer has literally drawn out every single road in the game and needless to say, it's impressive. And useful. For more info, take a look at the video below. Trust us, this one is very, very good. Give it a try today. 19 Comments. 10/31/2016 at 3:01 pm. Thanks for the info. That being said, I would like to suggest you change the name of the article since most of the mods mentioned are not available for PS4. 11/01/2016 at 5:19 am. I was looking for PS4 mods not 16 pages of parenthesis telling me it’s not available on PS4. Good job bro. Oscar Ortiz. 11/01/2016 at 9:53 am. That’s because PS4 is weak queera! 11/01/2016 at 11:49 am. This list isn’t good, XBOX sucks. Just ask all the people that have their systems continuously break down and controllers that fall apart after a few months. Microsoft basically has a monopoly on everything and that’s why they get everything. This list should be called XBOX gets everything because they’re assholes. Alexander Martin. 02/11/2017 at 3:57 am. Your an idiot, the reason why ps4 doesn’t get any good mods is because Sony is filled with a bunch of assholes that don’t want you to use any mods created by pc users, get your facts straight dipshit. Anonymous User. 03/03/2017 at 6:08 am. No, the reason PS4 does not allow external assets is because sony is afraid of piracy. With both the PSP and the PS3 able to be hacked they do not want to allow access to a mod that could potentially be used to hack the PS4 and pirate games and other media. I also owned an Xbox and had problems with it. I was forced to buy a new one. Next time have an argument before you call someone an idiot and a dipshit. 02/12/2017 at 7:35 am. You are a dumbass aint you. I have had my xbox for 2 years now and not a single issue with it. Sounfs kore to me that your bitching because you cant get any of the awesome mods on your ps4. Grey Morgan. 11/01/2016 at 5:32 pm. The PS4 is better hardware, bit unfortunately Sony has made a major error in severely limiting mods for Skyrim – and not allowing them at all for Fallout 4. 11/05/2016 at 9:19 pm. I don’t see mods on ps4 they are not coming up at all. 11/07/2016 at 10:19 am. Nonxbox1user. 11/15/2016 at 4:50 pm. Slow clap…… troll award for misleading title. Lady La La. 12/02/2016 at 11:22 am. Ok, so I hear complaining from PS fans, whining about Xbox, when it’s really just that Sony is a shitty company. Take it up with them. You’re not gonna find a lot of Playstation mods because Sony is too proprietary. Most companies are run by assholes in general, Sony is no exception. mod controller ps4. 12/03/2016 at 7:47 am. My brother suggested I might like this blog. He was once entirely right. This post actually made my day. You cann’t. imagine just how much time I had spent for this info! 12/18/2016 at 2:26 pm. Skyrim was first released in 2011 on the previous console generation and PC, and to say it was a great game would be an understatement. It won countless awards and is almost always high ranking in Top 100 Best Games Lists. Spawning countless memes, and the various strange glitches we could manipulate, Skyrim is great and fun. Fans of the game helped push Skyrim to new heights, with a strong modding community on PC. Due to the game's on-going popularity, we were blessed with a gorgeously overhauled newer, shinier Skyrim, bringing mod support to consoles for the first time. Here are our favorites. We have compiled some of the coolest mods available right now for Skyrim: Special Edition. Since the game also includes all of the DLC, there is no need to worry about incompatibility. And we've only selected free mods, nothing from the Creators Club. Note: Achievements are disabled while mods are active. It sucks but you really cannot beat a modded Skyrim playthrough. An Alternate Start - Live Another Life. This mod gives you an alternate opening, where you're left to fester in a jail, forgotten, instead of the Helgen opening we know so well by now. You still get to pick your race, and your choices here still have as much of an impact on the rest of the game. This mod expands character creation so that you'll find yourself faced with a choice of 13 new beginnings. Campfire - Complete Camping System. In addition to the new attributes you get in Frostfall, Campfire also grants you Resourcefulness and Instinct. Instinct allows you to stalk your prey and has its own skill system which can be accessed from any lit campfire. Cheat Room. Less than 1MB in size, this cheat room has it all. It adds a spell to your roster and teleports you to a room where you can do anything . Resurrect NPCs (because seriously, eff those vampire attacks), spawn any item, make anyone a follower, as well as all the skills leveling up, and changing the weather. It's THE cheat mod to get. Classic Oblivion Jail System. The jail system in Skyrim is pretty tame compared to Oblivion's. When you're locked up in jail in Skyrim, depending on the length of your sentence, you may lose progress towards your next level in a few skills. It's not really a hardship. This mod implements Oblivion's system, whereby the longer your sentence, the more levels you lose. Not just the progress towards them, actual levels. If you want being imprisoned to be any kind of threat, you should get this mod. The Forgotten City. This award winning, critically acclaimed mod is, basically, a fan made expansion bordering on official DLC quality realms of brilliance. With this installed, from level 5 your character will be approached by a courier who directs you to the Forgotten City. What follows is a six-to-eight-hour original and non-linear experience, in an incredibly intricate and beautiful new city. Even boasting complex moral decisions with consequences, and several different endings, it would be a shame to miss out on such beautifully crafted modding! Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival. If you wanted to turn Skyrim into a potentially fatal survival game, Frostfall would be the mod to do it. The three main components of this mod are hypothermia, cold water survival, and camping. This mod tracks everything from time of day, and weather to what you are wearing to create an immediately immersive experience. Your character can visibly become wet and snowy. It is also deeply customizable, making the experience as pleasant or unpleasant as you feel comfortable with. It adds new attributes to your character, Wetness and Exposure, and defenses for Warmth and Coverage. As you get colder, it raises your Exposure, and your skills suffer as a result; and when you are Wet, it increases your Exposure quicker. Warmth will always reduce Exposure, and Coverage decreases Wetness. You'll need the following mod to implement the effects of this fully. Hardcore Difficulty - No Milkdrinkers! Ouch. If you thought the Legendary difficulty was hard, go cry off into your sweet roll, dumpling. This mod isn't for you. It scales the leveling of enemies, making higher level enemies tougher, and keeping weaker ones weak. It also tweaks the block rate and damage output, and forces enemy AI to close in proximity during combat. Install this mod while you have Legendary difficulty active to switch it on. iNeed - Food, Water, Sleep. Couple this with Frostfall, and you've pretty much got yourself a Skyrim/The Sims cross-over. If keeping your Dragonborn alive wasn't hard enough, you'll now also have to make sure they're well rested, and well fed and watered. Messages appear to keep you informed of your status, as well as sound effects so you hear your stomach rumbling. The heavier the food, the more filling it is, and you'll begin the game with a waterskin but they can be crafted and purchased if you need more. Just Walk - No Fast Travel. This mod disables fast travel options from the map screen. If you want to get somewhere, you'd better be prepared to use your legs. And why not, the overhauled graphics and lighting systems are wonderful to behold, it'd be a shame to waste so much exploring to fast traveling! Fast traveling by coach, boat or being arrested is unaffected. Natural Eyes. If there's one thing I largely dislike about Skyrim, it's the default textures for eyes. Simply put, they're awful, with little to no detail, and why does there always have to be a "blind in one eye" option? This mod replaces all of the eyes with newer high resolution versions. It beats staring at elves who look like they've had their eyes pulled out with corkscrews. Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim. This is a great mod for those who want to level up but are tired of selecting the same old perk. Want to create an entirely new character from scratch with upgraded perk trees? Ordinator is the one for you! It has completely overhauled the perks system, adding new ones, so you have more fun building a character exactly how you want them. People are Strangers XB1. If you ever thought it was a bit weird that for some reason you automatically knew every character's name without ever speaking to them before, install this mod. Now, instead of showing the NPC's name, it'll show a ? until you speak to them. Jarls will just be called The Jarl until you are introduced. Rich Skyrim Merchants. You've just looted everything out of a dungeon, and you have so much expensive stuff to sell - but you have to offload it to multiple merchants to actually make any money. Vanilla Skyrim merchants don't often carry an excess of a thousand gold, making hoarding money a slow process, especially if you want to get on with homesteading. This Rich Skyrim Merchants mod gives every merchant five times more gold. Sheogorath's Cheat Menu. There are other cheat mods available, and this certainly isn't the tidiest but I selected this one in particular due to one of the additional things it does. This mod spawns a book on a stool that you can find at the Standing Stones just after you escape from Helgen on your way to Riverwood. Selecting the book adds a spell to the Restoration section of your magic, which is the cheat menu. You can fast level, or add items and money, etc. but you can also turn off collision detection, enabling you to bypass entire sections of the map just by aiming into the sky while you walk! See my personal screenshot above of this in action! The good thing about this cheat mod is that it only requires a free spell to launch. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. The most comprehensive mod for straightening out all the bugs, kinks and glitches left in the game post-release. Made to be compatible with as many mods as possible, you'll want to install this for a cleaner and less messy game. The fact we still need an unofficial patch is rather laughable, though. Over to you! The list of mods available on Xbox One is still growing, and there are more being added daily. Have we missed any already that you think should be on this list? Sound off in the comments and let us know! Updated on November 15, 2017: We refreshed the list, fixing any redirect issues with Bethesda moving pages and removing/adding mods. 7 Best Armor Mods for Skyrim on Xbox One. There's a ton of stuff to do in Skyrim 's base game, and players have all the freedom they could ask for to play the game the way they want to. But when you add mods into the mix, the possibilities really do become endless. Mods add all kinds of things to the game -- more weapons, graphical updates, extra quests, new areas, and more. Among the more helpful of these mods are armor mods, which add new armor sets or change existing armor. Whether it's new rings to boost your magical power or a never-before-seen armor sets made from strange materials, these mods have a lot to offer players. If you're an Xbox One player, uncovering good armor mods can be a little bit more difficult than it is for PC players. So we've rounded up the best armor mods that are available in the Skyrim mod marketplace for Xbox One.

Skyrim xbox one mods

When you pick up Skyrim: Special Edition on either PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the first thing you’re going to want to do is check out all of the mods available for the open world RPG on your platform of choice. There are already over 200 mods for the Xbox One version and 80 for PS4, but rather than download them all in order to find the best, why not just check out our list of 10 great mods below? Before you begin, you’re going to want to head to the Bethesda account page and either sign in with your Bethesda account information or make a new account if you don’t have one. This is necessary for installing mods on console. Now that you’re logged in, you can start adding mods to your game. You can browse through all of the currently available mods by heading to this page on Bethesda’s website and picking your platform from the drop-down menu. [Quick warning before we begin: You’re going to notice a huge disparity between the amount of mods available for Xbox One versus PS4. This is because the PS4 version doesn’t allow external assets (i.e. anything modder create using assets not already contained within the base game), cutting out support for many of the best and most inventive mods. If you’re trying to decide which version to buy based solely on mod support, we have to recommend Skyrim on Xbox One.] Ok, without further ado, let’s check out ten great mods for Skyrim : The Forgotten City. The Forgotten City is an award-winning, critically acclaimed expansion mod offering a unique 6 – 8 hour experience: a murder mystery investigation set in an ancient underground city. You’ll need to solve it using your wits, and the ability to travel through time. It has a dark, non-linear story in which you’ll interrogate suspects, explore the city and its many secrets, and navigate challenging moral dilemmas. It features multiple endings, an original orchestral score, and professionally voiced dialogue. Vigor – Combat and Injuries. A light weight combat mod that focuses on stamina, injuries and more reactive combat. Making combat more tactical and challenging. You are rewarded for keeping stamina at high levels with increased regeneration but when stamina bar is low, you deal less damage, move slower, can`t stagger your targets and even take increased damage. Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. Adds over 5,000 lines of completely voiced dialogue for NPCs for more than 50 voice types, focusing mainly on friends, followers, spouses, and rivals. All dialogue is voiced using the original voices from the game, achieved through re-adding existing dialogue in new and suitable places, as well as editing together multiple lines to form brand new dialogue. Campfire: Complete Camping System. Campfire is the most feature-rich camping gameplay mod for Skyrim, and the foundation of Frostfall. You are immediately granted two new Survival Skills, found in your Magic menu: Resourcefulness, and Instincts. Build a campfire from a small, fragile spark to a roaring blaze, and use it to cook with a cooking pot (or just grill right over the flames). Sit with your followers, keep warm, and let the larger campfires uplift and inspire you (granting a small XP bonus). Create tents at any tanning rack. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. A comprehensive bugfixing mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition. The goal of the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (aka USSEP) is to eventually fix every bug with Skyrim Special Edition not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package. Arcadia’s Farm. A small working farm named after the Whiterun Alchemist with player home across the road from the Whiterun Stables. Part of the “Grow Your Own” series of Mods. This time rather than just add a few grow spots to an existing farm or garden I started from scratch. The player home is a simple but comfortable one with everything you will need for crafting and plenty of storage. The smithing crafting stations have been placed in the basement out of sight. Longer Days. “Longer Days” is a very basic mod that adjusts the timescale in Skyrim to 10 (from 20), as well as adjustments to the Fast Travel speed multiplier to make the in-game time that passes resemble that if you were to walk instead. As an added bonus, it lowers the respawn time on uncleared cells to one week (240 > 168) and replaces a vanilla loading screen message about fast traveling. Because why not? Rain and Snow FX. Rain and Snow FX allows your character to show frost and wetness (complete with dripping particle effects) when in the rain and in snowstorms. Your skin will also be wet during and just after swimming. When the weather clears or you walk into an interior, the effect will quickly go away. When in the snow, your skin and armor will ice over in a noticeable way. When in the rain, the effect is more subtle, but your skin will be shiny and dripping. (Don’t use with Frostfall or Wet and Cold .] Dovahkiin Keep. Large Castle that can hold a lot or armor and weapons with well over 100 Mannequins, allowing you to create every possible armor combination you can come up with. Unlimited Shouts. Removes the cooldown from the Unrelenting Force shout [as well as most of the other shouts thanks to a recent update]. Use this new power with caution, or don’t! Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox One. Here are the best Skyrim mods guaranteed to work on the Xbox One version of Skyrim Special Edition. Skyrim has long been home to a robust modding community. That community has expanded substantially thanks to the release of Skyrim Special Edition for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Skyrim mod scene for the Xbox One is in much better shape than the PS4 game. Thanks to the ability to add new assets modders have been able to port many of the best mods available for the PC version of Skyrim. While we've already outlined some of the best Skyrim mods, there are a lot to sift through. This list of the best Skyrim mods for Xbox One are the real must haves, the ones you should download and install the moment you get the game. Sadly some of the massive Skyrim mods on PC, such as Enderal, won’t be coming to Xbox One due to the size limitations in the console version. Still, the best Skyrim mods on Xbox One are a step above what is available on PS4. Before downloading a mod it’s worth reading all its notes and warnings to avoid issues and assure optimal performance. Best Skyrim Mods on Xbox One. The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch -- Whenever Bethesda releases a game, modders quickly go to work fixing up inevitable bugs and glitches. The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch fixes hundreds of bugs that were unfortunately left behind in Special Edition. It's a solid, safe download that should work with most other mods you download. Rich Merchants of Skyrim -- We highlighted this mod on our PlayStation 4 Skyrim mod list too, and for good reason: This lightweight mod saves you a lot of frustration by making sure Skyrim's merchants always have enough cash in their coffers to buy whatever you're selling. Alternate Start: Live Another Life -- This mod spares you the intro at Helgen. Instead, you hit the ground running as an escaped prisoner. The choices you make during this alternate intro scene still have an effect on the game as a whole, so live and act wisely. Relationship Dialogue Overhaul -- This mod adds tons of voiced dialogue to NPCs, including friends, followers, and spouses. Now your companions should feel like actual partners instead of silent meat shields who carry your stuff around without complaint. Ars Metallica -- This crafting mod is engineered to expand crafting options for thieves and archers. Aside from getting skill bonuses for working with leather and wood, you can also craft lockpicks and arrows. Phendrix Magic Evolved -- Another powerful mod that was featured in our PlayStation 4 Skyrim mod guide. Phendrix Magicka Evolved gives you access to 360 new spells that can do everything from incinerate your foes to summon creatures to do battle with you. The Forgotten City -- The Forgotten City is a well-built story add-on that has you perform a murder mystery investigation in an underground city. It lasts six to eight hours and includes orchestrated music, professional voice acting, and multiple endings. If you need a break from saving the world from rampaging dragons, you could do far, far worse. Campfire -- Skyrim has such a big, beautiful open world that it seems a shame to sleep inside inns and houses. The Campfire mod lets you make tents, build up bonfires, hunt, and cook over the open flames. You'll never want to fast travel again, let alone give one more gold coin to The Bannered Mare. Invincible Dogs of Skyrim -- Losing a horse in Skyrim is bad enough, but losing a dog is devastating. Thankfully, the Invincible Dogs of Skyrim mod makes the realm's pooches pretty hardy and difficult to kill. Wagging tails all 'round. Vampires Suck: No Attacks In Towns -- This mod isn’t for everyone, but it will disable vampire attacks in towns - they will still attack elsewhere in the game world. If you live in constant fear that your NPCs will be killed during vampire attacks, this is the mod for you. It’s also useful if you use a mod that increases the level of vampires. INIGO -- If you’re looking for great companion mods, this is one of the best. A brand new companion with over 7000 lines of dialogue. Because of the additional assets used in the creation of this mod, it’s a great example of the kind of mod content you can get on Xbox One (and PC), but not on PS4. Sorry PS4 owners!
