Red Dead Redemption 2 release date leak: New PS4 and Xbox One reveal coming soon? THE LATEST Red Dead Redemption 2 release date leak suggests a big PS4 and Xbox One reveal is coming soon. Red Dead Redemption 2 release date news could arrive very soon. Rockstar are notorious for doing things their way, without the need of the flashy reveals and gaming expo stage presence. Understated releases of information is a thing we have seen used with GTA 5 Online, and is likely something we’re going to get again with the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date. Rockstar have had to pushback and delay the launch of their latest game, confirming that they needed more time to give it the proper polish they desired on launch. It also wouldn’t be surprising if things have changed following the huge success of GTA Online, something that parent-publisher Take-Two Interactive will want to see happen with RDR Online. News on Red Dead Redemption 2 has been pretty thin on the ground in 2018, however, if the most recent retail leaks are to be believed, this could all change pretty soon. There have been two significant indications on which month the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date could fall. A number of media outlets reported on a Danish retailer listing which had the game launching on June 8, 2018. Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer - Latest screenshots from Rockstar Games for PS4, Xbox One. Screenshots from the latest Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, the next Rockstar Games title for PS4, Xbox One. Red Dead Redemption 2 [ROCKSTAR GAMES] The significance of this is that something very similar happened with the original GTA 5 release date, with the same retailer posting a date that was later confirmed to be very close to the official announcement. A second retail leak soon followed after this one, however, it provided a different date. This suggested that a July 12, 2018, launch window was being planned by Rockstar, which would mean several things would have changed. The games studio confirmed when they originally delayed their new title from 2017, that Red Dead Redemption 2 would arrive in Spring 2018. But if the game is to launch on July 12, that would mean the title would be launching outside of that timeframe. There’s also the fact that it would be released on a Thursday, not a common occurrence for such a big game. Related articles. However, if either of these new dates are proven to be even close to the actual real release date, it means that we should start seeing more news very soon. With GTA 5’s original release in 2013, fans started seeing new boxart and other campaigns unveiled months before its final September arrival. And if Rockstar aren’t planning on delaying their new game further, we should start seeing new information dropping very soon. Five months before launch, we saw new trailers, as well as pre-order information revealed, meaning something could be being prepped for February. It should be noted that Rockstar have not revealed any of their plans for Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, so we’ll have to wait and see what actually happens. RDR2 is so far only announced for PS4 and Xbox One, although it’s likely that a PC port will arrive at a later date. Most read in Gaming. Tame the Wild West in Red Dead Redemption via Xbox One Backward Compatibility. Red Dead Redemption , Rockstar’s tour de force about the dying days of the American West, was one of the standout titles of the last generation. And now, starting today, you can relive John Marston’s gunslinging epic through Xbox One Backward Compatibility – or finally give the game a shot for the first time if you missed it in 2010. With that in mind, we’ve put together some of the coolest things you can do in one of the best open-world adventures in gaming history – and certainly the greatest Western ever seen in the medium of video games. Partially reformed outlaw, John Marston is one of the baddest gunslingers to ever travel the frontier. His quest to track down and eliminate his old gang in exchange for his freedom and his family (per the deal he’s made with his sketchy U.S. government handlers) is the sort of tense, epic, twist-filled drama that Rockstar is known for. It ranks as one of the most memorable and poignant stories the company has ever given us (and, arguably, one of the best stories ever featured in a video game). From the chilly foothills in the North through the vast plains of the frontier and down into Mexico, Red Dead Redemption is rich with life and detail. Take on gang hideouts, track criminals for bounty, search for buried treasure – or simply wander from town to town assisting the world’s colorful characters for notoriety and fame. To say that Red Dead Redemption features an impressive ecology of wildlife would be an understatement. The game features more than 40 different kinds of animal, from rattlesnakes to chickens to cougars and bison, each with their own habitat and behavior patterns, and all fighting for survival. Hunting for big game can earn you a tidy profit. Just make sure you know what you’re doing before you go up against something bigger than you, since bears in this game are bears and will freaking maul you . Engage in Some Frontier Justice. Sometimes it’s kill or be killed in the treacherous and unpredictable world of Red Dead Redemption, and whether you’re hunting bad men or beasts, it pays to know your way around a gun. When a score needs to be settled, you can engage in some good, old-fashioned one-on-one duels. The game drops into slow motion as you race to draw and tag your opponent with bullets before he gets a bead on you – and a successful duel usually ends with a satisfying spray of gunfire from Marston’s six-shooter. Experience one of the biggest and deepest DLC experiences ever as a zombie plague suddenly descends upon the world of Red Dead Redemption , turning towns and outposts upside down as the uninfected citizens fight to survive. With an all-original, self-contained supernatural story, new gameplay, deadly infected animals and the mystical four horses of the apocalypse to tame and ride, Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare is a fresh twist on this amazing Western world. Red Dead Redemption is now available via Xbox One Backward Compatibility. Red Dead Redemption Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Leaked. UPDATE: There are many credible reports on how to access and download the game early, however, doing so looks to be in violation of the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. Specifically in the section "Don’t pirate or use another's content without permission," the final bullet-point is don't "play a game before it has been authorized for play on the service." Since there is no official word on whether or not backward compatibility is coming to Red Dead Redemption, it's best to assume it hasn't yet been authorized. We've reached out to Microsoft for clarification. UPDATE #2: The official Xbox Support Twitter account advises users abide "to what the Code of Conduct says," but are unable to speculate on enforcement actions, as support and enforcement are separate teams. Bottom line: just wait it out. Red Dead Redemption appears to have been leaked as a backwards compatible game for Xbox One. First spotted on NeoGAF, Red Dead Redemption, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are listed in an Xbox Live user’s game list. Red Dead Redemption is available to those who own the game digitally. However, it does require some navigation to download the game. It should be noted it isn’t clear if the process of downloading the game is a violation of Microsoft’s Terms of Service. Red Dead Redemption via Xbox One. Fans of Red Dead Redemption have awaited an announcement for a sequel for some time. Last November, Take-Two Interactive revealed “creating anticipation and demand” as the reasons why games like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto are not annual franchises. To date, Red Dead Redemption has sold over 14 million copies. Check out IGN’s review of Red Dead Redemption to see why we called it a “must-play game”. We have reached out to Rockstar Games and will update when we learn more. Meanwhile, be sure to catch up on reviews for the classic original PlayStation game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the most recent entry of the Tekken series to hit consoles. In related Xbox One backwards compatibility news, a handful of new games were recently made available, including Counter-Strike: GO, Soulcalibur, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Typically, players must own the game digitally in order to download them but The Witcher 2 is available for free in select regions until February 5. The beginning is slow and many people I've talked to have said that they stopped playing because of the beginning missions. Stick with it as it only gets better. The game is epic on a grand scale and it shows. The world is unforgiving as the law tries to keep order but there's too many bad guys out there. The main story is great and the ending sucks in a sad way. There's a lot to do in this game as there's a bunch of mini-games and the online as well. I always found the online buggy and never truly cared for it despite the time I put into it. Overall the game is an obvious must own for any gamer and should be played to the fullest extent. 300 out of 314 people found this helpful. Best Wild West game ever made. This is the defining game of the previous generation of consoles. Excellent voice work, top notch sound design, and graphics that still don't look half bad today. Rockstar put their heart and soul into this game and it shows. 208 out of 221 people found this helpful. All time favorite game. i like the protagonist and story. I love the online gameplay, the graphics looked great for a game at the time of its release. I met a fellow gamer playing reddead and we are still gaming to this day. We plan on revisiting our stomping grounds. Thanks to Rockstar and Microsoft for bringing this epic game to Xbox 1. 348 out of 373 people found this helpful. Classic open world game. Quite possibly my favorite last-gen game and one of the few I'd take time to review. I never enjoyed the GTA series because playing as a thug doesn't appeal to me. While you can step outside the law in RDR, it's actually more satisfying to play a character with redeeming qualities. Hard to beat riding around on your horse exploring the territory and helping out the locals. If there's a criticism it would be it can get repetitive once you're well into the game, but it's really so much fun you won't care that much. It was a sad day when I traded my PS3 and classics like RDR and Fallout 3 because I never thought I'd play them again. Thank you Microsoft for keeping them alive on Xbox One. 133 out of 141 people found this helpful. Best Rockstar game, hands down. If you want to play a western game that has a ton of guns and a lot of shooting, this is the game to get. You can play poker, blackjack, and many other minigames and jobs. You can also hunt and do many different and unique stranger missions and challenges to add replayability to this game. NOTE: Right now multiplayer is virtually unplayable due to the Zombie Rider Mod, but Rockstar and Microsoft are working on a Solution. 68 out of 72 people found this helpful. Better than gta. this game is perfection, or at least was until modders came online. MOD YOUR GAME IN SINGLEPLAYER some people prefer to have to do something to rise to the top. This games graphics are INSANE for the year it came out and the same can be said for physics. This game is constantly surprising you at every turn, from huge shootouts with lawmen and bandits, to hunting zombies in undead nightmare. 10 outa 10 because its not Rockstars fault the modders break the code. 157 out of 173 people found this helpful. All time favorite. Got the game day one way back in 2010 and still enjoy every moment I put into it. From the level of detail in the lively, but very different areas of New Austin and Mexico, to combat, to horse riding even the news papers are always interesting. Single player is phenomenal, but multiplayer is broken and has been for years. Must have for fans of spaghetti westerns considering this game has taken aspects from some of those. 100 out of 109 people found this helpful. GTH: Grand Theft Horses. Great game that feels like a Western with game play mechanics that could be mistaken for GTA on horseback. Well written and an engaging story, it was well worth the 3+ days (real world) that I invested in beating the main game and Undead Nightmare DLC. One of if not a strong contender for my favorite game on the Xbox 360. 18 out of 18 people found this helpful. A landmark title, and the best Western game of all time. In my opinion, this is the best game Rockstar has ever made. Incredible presentation, Huge world with many things to see and do, fantastic voice acting, complex interesting characters, superb gameplay, great shooting mechanics. Excellent ambient sound, still has the best horse riding physics as well, even to this day. I could go on forever writing about this masterpiece of a video game, buy it, is worth you're time indeed. 54 out of 58 people found this helpful. Multiplayer NEEDS FIX. This game is one of my favs, and ive been a fan of it since day 1. The multiplayer is too glitchy and too many hacks. Outfitter online wont load at all. please fix or remaster. even though RDR 2 is coming out, please fix this game and lets not leave it as a hacked forgotten game. Thank you for your time. 63 out of 71 people found this helpful. Translate to English. Язык Microsoft Store: United States - English. Вас интересует язык Microsoft Store: Россия - Русский? Red Dead Redemption Comes to Xbox One, Here's How to Get It [UPDATE] Microsoft warns that accessing the game in this manner could be a violation of Xbox Live's Code of Conduct. The game has now been removed. [UPDATE] Microsoft's Xbox Support Twitter account advises against using the workaround laid out below to access Red Dead Redemption, as it may be a violation of the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. @mvp_xbox_mex Hey there! Playing a game before it's been authorized to play on the service is against the Code of Conduct. ^AK. Xbox Live's Code of Conduct (via IGN) states that you should not "play a game before it has been authorized for play on the service." Additionally, some people on NeoGAF who were able to successfully download Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One are reporting that the game now fails to launch. It is apparently still playable offline, but you can't save your game. We will update this story with new information as it becomes available. It looks like Rockstar Games' celebrated 2010 western Red Dead Redemption is coming to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. A NeoGAF user reported today that the game is now available to download, though it doesn't appear to be showing up in search. Another NeoGAF member points out that you can search their Gamertag, "rockohoward," and view their profile to find a download link. GameSpot tried this and it does seem to work. However, right now it appears you need to have purchased the digital version of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360 to play it on Xbox One. It looks like physical copies aren't supported, at least not yet. If you don't own a digital copy of Red Dead Redemption, you'll see "Bundle Only" from the purchase options. Clicking this returns no results. However, you can pick up Red Dead Redemption from the Xbox.com store for $30, return to your console, and it should show up. Other Xbox 360 games that are playable on Xbox One in this manner reportedly include Left 4 Dead 2, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night--and maybe others as well. As for the unceremonious nature of Red Dead Redemption's release on Xbox One (and those other games), there is an explanation. Last month, Microsoft announced it would launch new titles into the backwards compatibility program as they became available, not on a standard monthly schedule. "What this means for you is that you won't have to wait to find out the latest titles," Microsoft said at the time. "We'll release whatever is available, when they're available, once each title has received the engineering and publisher stamp of approval." Some are also wondering how Red Dead Redemption runs on Xbox One. One person encountered the bug you see below, though it's possible this would have happened in the Xbox 360 version, too. Other people on NeoGAF are reporting that the game runs as smoothly as they remember. Red Dead Redemption was the third most sought-after game for the Xbox One backwards compatibility program on the Xbox Feedback website, behind only The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Those two games are not in the program, but Microsoft is in discussions with all major publishers. There are now at least 131 games in the Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. You can see the full list here. Were you able to download Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below! Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption HD is rumored to be announced at the PlayStation Meeting this week. Red Dead Redemption HD is reportedly coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC, according to a rumor from a source in Korea. According to Korean site Game Focus, the HD remaster of Red Dead Redemption is being pushed through the Asian localization process, leading to speculation that it will be announced during the PlayStation Meeting on September 7th. According to the source, the game is expected to launch within the first half of 2017, though this is subject to change. There has been talk of a potential Red Dead Redemption sequel for years now, with many believing that Rockstar was set to unveil Red Dead Redemption 2 at this year’s E3. While that wasn’t the case, on previous investors calls Rockstar’s parent company Take Two have still listed RDR as one of the developer’s most notable franchises, meaning that there is obviously plans for a sequel to eventually see the light of day. Red Dead Redemption HD may not present fans of the original game with the follow-up they’ve been waiting for, but if a sequel is planned it will at least provide a stop-gap for players to reintroduce themselves to the story of John Marston. It is hoped that the remaster will share the same graphics engine as Grand Theft Auto V , which ran on a finely tuned version of Rockstar’s RAGE engine. Is Red Dead Redemption any better on Xbox One?
