Developers have reported that they want to have 50 deffenders and 50 attackers. They plan on expanding this game, not by releasing a new game each year with the same content on different maps. In rainbow 6, new content is not hidden behind paywalls. You can play to earn credits in game to buy all new operators and skins. Or if you choose to, you can buy the season pass to get the operators 7 days early and unlock all operators for that year. Each season everyone gets a new map to play that does not have to be purchased. We already knew that Rainbow Six Siege would be getting a season pass, but Ubisoft has now revealed everything that buyers get with it. The $30 season pass offers seven-day "exclusive" early access to new operators added to the game post-launch. Season pass owners can immediately gain access to these characters when they are released without having to spend currency--be it real-world money or in-game cash--to unlock them. Even with access to those, there are still other things to unlock in-game. Buying the season pass will offer a permanent 5 percent boost to Renown gain (the currency earned by playing the game), as well as a one-time 600 R6 Credits allowance. Also included is an exclusive Porter weapon skin, five animal-themed weapon skins (known as the Safari bundle), and two extra challenges that can be completed every day to earn more Renown. New operators will be coming to the game through four DLC expansions released over the next year. These packs will also include new maps, which everyone will receive for free. It's possible Ubisoft's plans for DLC extend beyond the coming year, but it sounds as if season pass owners will only be entitled to the operators coming in the next 12 months or so, as it refers to the season pass as a "year-long" membership. It has its kinks sure, but well worth it. I have been playing for almost 2 years now. Lather, rinse, repeat. This game has zero story, multiplayer is lame, matchmaking is terrible. Multiplayer maps are small and unless you have a dedicated team, the likelihood of having a group that communicates and works well together is probably around 5%. Ultimately is the same game every single match. Other games that follow suit, as in, “multiplayer only,” such as Overwatch, Paladins, etc, at least are fun and give substantially more options than the same loadout options that every “modern day shooter” offers. I am cheap and never purchase in game content, but i loved this game so much that i went ahead and purchased the season 1 pass. i had enough points to unlock operators in season 2. But now i will be purchasing the season 3 pass when it is out. My friends love this game too and more and more people are playing it. The servers have timed maintenance and the ubi soft team does a great job with bug fixes and maintaining the servers. There was a learning curve for these folks, so in the last two years they have fixed pretty much any issue there was. a rock solid game and a must buy as it enters year 3.
