Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the single most-requested Xbox 360 game for Xbox One backwards compatibility on the Xbox Feedback site, was added to the catalog today.
Microsoft's Major Nelson confirmed this on Twitter. If you already own the game for Xbox 360, it should show up automatically in your Xbox One game library. If not, you can pick it up right now on your console or through the Xbox Store website. Additionally, the game is included in the Xbox Live spring sale.
Black Ops II is not the first Call of Duty game in the Xbox One backwards compatibility library. Others include Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World At War, and the original Black Ops.
On the Xbox Feedback site, Black Ops II received more than 213,000 votes from people asking for it to be added to the backwards compatibility catalog, the most of any game.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer personally advocated for Black Ops II to come to the library and heavily suggested in the past that its addition to the catalog was a matter of when not if.
The Xbox One's backwards compatibility library has more than 320 games in it--you can see them all here.
Black Ops 2 Now the Most Wanted Xbox One Backward Compatible Game.
As it currently stands, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the Xbox community's most requested Xbox 360 game to come to Xbox One by way of backwards compatibility.
According to Xbox Feedback data, Treyarch's incredibly popular shooter has earned over 77,000 votes, overtaking the prior leader, Red Dead Redemption, which current sits in second place with just over 75,000 votes.
Trailing behind in third place is Bethesda's Skyrim, followed thereafter by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Halo: Reach. Here are the current top ten standings:
Call of Duty: Black Ops II Red Dead Redemption The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Halo: Reach Call of Duty: Black Ops Gears of War 3 Fallout 3 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Mass Effect 3.
Xbox One backwards compatibility was announced last month at E3, and is currently available to those in the Xbox Preview program. It will be available to all later this year, supporting over 100 titles at launch with more to follow. Here's the current list of supported games.
Which Xbox 360 title are you most eager to see come to Xbox One by way of backwards compatibility? Sound off with your selection in the comments.

If you are experiencing connectivity issues attempting to play a Call of Duty game on Xbox Live, your first step should be to check the server status of the Call of Duty game you are playing.
If the status indicator for your platform is not green or an alert is present, you might encounter connectivity issues until services are restored and fully operational.
However, if the status indicator is green and no alert is posted, several other factors could be affecting the quality of your connection.
Make sure you’re signed in to your system’s account.
If you are having issues signing in to your account, there are likely issues with your Xbox connecting to the internet. Please refer to the following:
You're signed in to an account but can't connect.
If you’re signed in but are having trouble connecting, check the Xbox Live Status page for connectivity alerts, maintenances, or other factors indicating that servers are not fully operational. If there are issues with the Xbox Live servers, you might experience connectivity issues until the servers return to full operation.
Testing your connection might reveal the root cause of a problem. Follow the steps below to test your console’s connection.
Turn on your Xbox without a disc inside and go to Xbox Home . Go to Settings and select System . Select Network Settings . Select a connection you would like to test. Select Test Xbox Live Connection . Select Yes to sign out of Xbox Live and allow the test to run.

Restarting your router is often the easiest and quickest way to resolve connectivity issues. Other bandwidth-heavy applications on your network can be detrimental to your ability to connect. This includes, but is not limited to, streaming music, streaming video or movies, or downloading files. Using a wired connection will allow your system to achieve optimal performance when playing an online game. Wi-Fi connections have a wide variance in reliability and bandwidth and can dramatically affect the quality of online gameplay. Wired Ethernet connections will maintain the minimum bandwidth connection that is required for online gaming.

Black Ops 2 on Xbox One back-compat: has the wait been worth it?
It's the smoothest console version - and thousands are still playing it online.
By John Linneman Published 13/04/2017.
Platforms: Xbox 360, Xbox One.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer can rest easy - for now. After months of relentless 'feedback' from the userbase, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is finally available for Xbox One users via the wonder of backwards compatibility. And not surprisingly, bearing in mind the results of virtually every back-compat title we see these days, Xbox One represents the definitive way to play this library classic - on console, at least.
It's a fascinating release to go back to, because not only is BLOPs 2 one of the most successful games in the Call of Duty franchise, it's also the last major installment designed with last generation consoles in mind. Sure, stripped down versions of more recent COD games were released on these older machines, but this was truly the last great title in the series produced with last-gen consoles in mind.
BLOPs 2 also demonstrates how far we've come in terms of image quality expectations on consoles since its release. It runs at 880x720 on Xbox 360 - which is rather low - but at the same time, its high frame-rate allows the game to hold up better than you'd expect. It's not a stunning game by modern standards, but Treyarch was pushing the boundaries of its engine back in 2012 when it was first released. In addition to the 60fps target, the development team introduced new water effects, improved lighting and some other nice features into the mix. The scene where you use a wing suit to infiltrate an enemy compound still holds up nicely today. This is perhaps the most technically demanding Call of Duty game of the last generation.
And this Xbox One re-release also benefits from being built upon the finest last-gen version of the game available. It ran more smoothly than its PS3 counterpart and absolutely wiped the floor with the lacklustre Wii U release (even in its fully patched form - from which we took fresh captures for this new video).
John Linneman boots up BLOPs 2 on Xbox One, and stacks it up against the existing last-gen versions of the game.
As good as it was though, it wasn't perfect, with some stutter and slowdown prominent mostly in the campaign. Xbox One essentially takes the existing 360 title and utilises its more powerful GPU to smooth out many of the performance issues. It's still not quite perfect - perhaps Scorpio will finally get us there - but the fact remains that it is the smoothest console version of this title you can buy.
As good as the campaign is, the chances are that it's multiplayer and zombie mode you're more likely to revisit and in this respect, the Xbox One version deliver. Checking out multiplayer first, one of the first things we encountered is the need to download the Nuketown map pack, which is required now. Thankfully, DLC management for 360 games is well implemented on Xbox One and the process went very smoothly.
Once downloaded, we had no issues getting into a game, thankfully - there are still a lot of people playing Black Ops 2 right now. Once into the game, performance goes straight for 60 frames per second and never lets go. Every match we played managed to deliver a near flawless level of performance.
Treyarch's popular Zombie-based survival mode is still being played by thousands of people and we had no trouble jumping into a 30 minute round. Performance is very similar to the multiplayer mode overall with a nice stable 60 frames per second throughout most of the match. However, when explosions or fire fill the screen, performance is taxed and we end up with a slight dip in frame-rate that quickly dissipates.
Ultimately, the performance on Xbox One is excellent. It's the best console iteration of Black Ops 2 money can buy, and it still plays great due to its high frame-rate. If you have fond memories of the game and are looking to revisit any portion of it, this is a great way to do so. Just be prepared for the low resolution presentation - it's the one aspect of the title that has aged the most, but it's a result of Treyarch pushing its iteration of the COD engine as far as the team could take it in the last-gen era.
And with that, the (possibly indefinite) wait begins for back-compat versions of the two Modern Warfare titles.

Edit(Rezurrection DLC) Moon Zombies Easter Egg.
Before you attempt to unlock quite possibly the most elaborate Easter egg known to man in the Zombie map, Moon, you will need to have satisfied these requirements:
Step 1: Activate the power first. Once you do, find the four computer terminals that sit in the outside beginning area. Each computer terminal lights up a specific color, and you essentially must play “Simon Says.” When you successfully input a round of sequences, all four terminals light up green, signaling the next step.
Step 2: Head into the lab area with all the servers and use a hacker to hack one of four red buttons along the wall. Afterwards, some terminals light up green in the adjacent room. Have someone hack all four of these green-lit terminals, and at least one other person press the four red buttons within seconds of one another until they all remain lit.
Step 3: The third step involves the Excavator breaching tunnel 6 (where the M16 is). It’s easier if you only open up the doors through tunnel 6 when you start. Afterwards, get rid of the Excavator by hacking the proper terminal in the Receiving Area.
Step 4: If everything has gone according to plan so far, you’ll notice a round stone floating near the M16. Knife it to make it start floating around. Keep knifing it to move it along. Note that if it seems to have “hid” itself, you just need to shoot it in the general area where it disappeared to make it re-appear. This floating stone eventually bumbles its way to the disc at the base of that strange pyramid.
Step 5: A cylindrical tube emerges from the right side of the pyramid’s base. Apparently, zombies’ souls belong in this tube. For the tube to collect these souls, you’ll need to kill a decent number of zombies near it, and you’ll watch the tube slowly fill up. When the tube is completely filled with zombie souls, you’ll next need to flip the switch on the wall to the right of the tube.
From here, you need Richtofen’s Vrill Generator to continue. This is gotten by completing the previous Easter egg Achievements. Whoever is Richtofen will have the Vrill Generator at the bottom of his screen.
Step 6: You all have the Death Machine power-up for about 90 seconds, so head back to Area 51 (where you first started) to earn some major points on zombies, if any. Look to your right and chuck grenades at the plates on the shelf. A friend with the Gersch Device needs to then throw a Gersch Device to where the plates have fallen to suck them up and move them to the teleporter. Quickly get on the teleporter to be transported back to the station.
Step 7: You’ll now find the plates lying on the floor in front of the Quick Revive. Use the QED to shuttle them to the computer in the corner of the same room. Whoever is Richtofen must place the Vrill Generator in-between the plates to activate a cut-scene. Have Richtofen keep pressing X at the computer keyboard until the voice-over ends and the color of the computer screen turns and stays green.
Step 8: Take the glowing Vrill Generator and return to the pyramid. The Vrill Generator will insert itself in the engraving and cause more cylindrical tubes to rise from the corners. You’ll need to kill enough zombies to fill up each tube. Once all four tubes have been infused with souls, activate the switch again to drain them.
Step 9: Make sure Richtofen grabs the revealed Vrill Generator to earn him perks that stick around permanently. Use the QED to transport the floating stone back outside. It ends up right by the “Simon Says” computer terminals. Suck up the floating stone with the Gersch Device.
Step 10: The stone goes to some out-of-reach rockets, which launch themselves toward Earth, after successfully completing “Simon Says.”
When the rockets smash into the Earth, you earn Big Bang Theory .

And last is by the lunar lander nearest to stamin-up. On the left side of that part of the map there is a gate, you go to the gate, crouch, and somewhere behind the gate is another teddy bear. The new Zombie map, Shangri-La, from Annihilation DLC features immortal zombie monkeys. At first they don't seem to do anything, although if you kill them they'll respawn. However, once a power-up drops nearby these zombie monkeys will snatch up the power-up and attempt to take it back to the shrine. While running back to the shrine, the power-up in the monkey's possession will switch between the different power-ups. If you kill it, it will drop whatever power-up it held last, but other zombie monkeys will try to retrieve it as well. If you manage to grab it before a monkey does, the monkey tries to loot 50 points from you.

EditThundergun in Campaign.
Much like the Ray Gun in the previous game, the Thundergun can be unlocked in Black Ops by performing the following specific actions on the level "Numbers." After the interrogation ends, look for six canisters. Toss grenades at the canisters to the rear left and rear right. Shoot the other canisters until smoke is released. A black tape will appear out of a cassette deck. Grab it with the action button. Leave the room and head upstairs. Kill everyone and move to the rooftop and jump to the next floor. Weaver and Clark will move the fridge revealing a weapons cache. Here you'll find the a cassette player. Hit the action button here and you'll put the tape in the deck. You should hear music and the screen will shake and shortly the Thundergun will come out of the wall. Enjoy!
EditSecret Film.
In the Zombie map "Kino Der Toten" there is a teleporter in front of the curtain on stage. When you use this teleporter you get sent to the room that contains Pack-a-Punch machine and a window. If you wait about a minute you'll be teleported again to one of several secret rooms. Inside the secret room that contains the presidential seal and a projector, there is a desk. On the desk there is an old roll of film which you can pick up (be warned you will not be prompted to pick it up, you just can).

EditHow to Beat the Battle of Khe Sanh Trenches.

At the Battle of Khe Sanh, you're told to clear the trenches. What is missed by most is a nearly inaudible clue telling you that there are barrels full of napalm. And, more importantly, there's no help in telling you what to do with those barrels. Shooting them does nothing. Neither does trying to clear the trenches with one of the mounted machineguns, as the Viet Cong keep pouring out in an endless wave. Nope, you have to run to two of the giant, striped barrels near the bottom of the hill and kick them down into the trench. There are two of them. Hide behind the sandbags and take shots at the VC until it's relatively clear. Make a run for the nearby barrel and use the prompt to stab it and kick it down the hill.
EditChange Music.
On the Zombies map Five, approach the red telephones and hit the button prompted to change the background music to "Don't Back Down" by Eminem. There are 3 red telephones in all: One by the Quick Revive machine, another on the second floor in the center of the room and a 3rd one is in the room with the Pack-A-Punch machine. </p
If you shoot the mannequin heads in Nuketown you'll hear "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones. - Drunksocks.
In the Zombie map "Kino Der Toten" there are 3 pieces of a meteorite located throughout the map. The first is by the stairs when you start the level. The second is in the "boiler room." The third is in the "dressing room." Hit the prompt when next to the piece and your character will say a line about the meteor -- when all 3 pieces have been found, "115" by Elena Siegman will play. - jacobosin.
Also, on "Kino Der Toten," in the first room upstairs from where you start, there are 5 pictures on the right. Four of them are the characters you play as and one is blacked-out. You can examines these to hear your character say something about each one. - Jeff.
