Impressive.
Graphics are great, game mechanics much, much better, sound is crisp overall. My only negative feedback is lack of teams, licenses, the obvious.

PES THE GAMPLAY KING.
I usually buy both Fifa and Pes but Pes has me hooked more with it's smooth and realistic gameplay. Only issue is lack of licenced teams. This is 2nd year in a row i bought only Pes as fifa lacks good gameplay and seems focused on looking pretty and also focused on the Journey story mode which I don't care about. BUY IT🙂👍

inconsistent.
Online co-op modes/ features really enhance game a lot. However, game play can (will?) be inconsistent. When game is functioning well without lag, input delay and other bs interference it's a solid game/experience. The player ID is great when you can actually play.

PES 2018 Option File | PS4, Xbox One and PC.
September 15, 2017.
What is a PES 2018 Option File?
A PES 2018 option file enables you to semi-automatically replace team names, emblems and most importantly team kits. It is typically used to put real team names, emblems and kits on teams Konami don’t licenses for. Other uses include creating custom kits and recreating classic teams. By using these option files you can play PES as if all teams were actually licensed. The whole process from downloading the kits to importing them should take around 30 minutes. Moreover, you only need an internet connection (to download the option file) and a USB stick (2GB+ FAT32) to able to do it.
PS4 and PC PES 2018 Option File Instructions.
If your PES 2018 option file includes the German Bundesliga complete the process within the Bundlesliga section below first. If not you can skip that part and go straight to team import.
Bundesliga.
As Bundesliga isn’t included in PES 2018 the process for importing it is a little different. That’s if you want the league emblem and all the Bundesliga teams correctly listed under the German league. We list the instructions below.
Go to edit mode, competition structure and then draw size. Change the PEU League to 18. This is the league that the Bundesliga will be replaced with. Go back to competition structure and then click Europe. Using R1 and L1 scroll through to the PEU League. Replace PES United, Almchendolf and Ehrenhofstadt with Borussia Dortmund, Rasen Ballsport Leipzig and FC Schalke 04. This puts the licensed German teams into the league you’re going to convert into the Bundesliga. Back on the main edit menu click data management, import/export and then import competition. Select all files and import. Once again on completion it will say finished importing data.
The Bundesliga, and any other competitions you have imported, will now be in place. Now you need to import the actual teams.
Team Import.
Here are step by step instructions on how to import your option file once it is downloaded. We’ll discuss where you can download the PES 2018 option file after the instructions below.
Insert your FAT32 USB stick into your PC. Create a WEPES folder onto the root of the USB. Extract all files from the downloaded .rar file and put them into your WEPES folder on your USB stick. (Make sure file names aren’t changed) Insert the USB stick into your PS4. On the PES 2018 main menu click edit mode. You should be prompted to create new edit data. Once the edit data has been created click data management. From there click Import/Export, then Import Teams and select the USB plugged into your PS4 You will then be presented with a long list of bin files. Rather than selecting all of them at once and doing one massive import, we recommend doing them in small batches. This is because doing the import in one big batch significantly increases the chance of the import failing in some way. Once you have selected your batch of files you’ll be given tick boxes for select team to import data to , apply player data and squad data and finally overwriting image files of the same name . We recommend leaving all of these blank. Click ok. The files will now import and once complete it will say finished importing data . Repeat step 8 until all files are imported. That’s it! You should now have a satisfying full set of teams with real names, emblems and kits.
If any of these instructions are at all incorrect or can be improved please let us know.
To the pleasant surprise of many you use a PS4 option on PC as well! The process is the same as listed above with the exception of before loading up PES 2018 you’ll need to put the WEPES folder (files within included) in /Documents/Konami/Pro Evolution Soccer 2018. This is also shown in the video below.
There are numerous questions every year about whether option files will work on Xbox One. Once again the answer is no for Xbox One. Konami are more than wanting for option files (imports) to be available on Xbox One but Microsoft aren’t willing to make it a reality.
Where to get a PES 2018 Option File?
Fortunately there are a few sites offering a PES 2018 option file. All of them (at least the ones we have listed below) are top quality and therefore whether the kits look realistic enough should be the last of your worries. The table below provides an overview of what these sites are offering in their PES 2018 option file.
Option files require a lot of work so to even have any available at this early stage of PES 2018 is testament to how hard members of the PES community work on this. If any of the information above is incorrect please let us know so we can update it . We will update this page/table as and when more option files become available.
PES World’s La Liga option file is in the higher quality 2048. PES Universe are offering both the 2048 and 1024 version. The 1024 files do allow more kits to be imported. PES Universe also offer a paid service which prioritises option files for their members among other bonuses.
Only Pro Evolution’s currently offer a beta option file that contains, as per the Only Pro Evolutions forum: 15 new Bundesliga clubs, each containing 23 players, all of which have correct accessories, and accurate appearances and ratings. Kits will be completed for the next update. Corrected player names for all 33 fake national teams (from Algeria to Zambia). No duplicate players.

not as good as fifa.
dont get me wrong, pes18 is a good game, but the problem is that there is another game called FIFA that is perfect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Team issue.
The game is cool, as far as the game, and graphics, but seriously, you can only play as European teams. I want to play as my own team, CRUZ AZUL. That's the only downfall, which caused me to not like it! I tried returning it because of that, I'd rather have FIFA, since there are no team limitations.

PES 2018's release date isn't far away, but if you're eager to play the game ahead of its launch, its demo is available right now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. It appears that unlike the full game, the demo--which weighs in at between 4 and 5 GB, depending on platform--is not available on PC.
Eleven teams are playable--including Barcelona, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Brazil, Argentina, and Germany--across two stadiums: Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park and Barcelona's Camp Nou. Curiously, however, you cannot change your team's formation in the demo version.
The trial follows an open beta which was held in July. That only let you play online multiplayer matches however, while this demo version allows offline play for the first time.
In other PES 2018 news, publisher Konami announced recently that retired English football star David Beckham will be a playable Legend in myClub, the game's FIFA Ultimate Team rival. He joins a list of playable Legends that also includes Diego Maradona, who previously threatened to sue Konami. The two parties later settled their dispute and Maradona will now act as a PES ambassador for the next three years.
PES 2018 launches for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on September 12, around two weeks ahead of its main rival, FIFA 18, comes out worldwide. We played both titles at Gamescom last week, and you can see what we thought here.
PES 2018 Review.
You always know what you're getting when you buy a PES game. Crap commentary, a lack of licensed squads, and much of the time, an exemplary representation of the beautiful game. And it's that last bit that's the most important thing; the reason why Pro Evolution Soccer remains relevant against the fully licensed might of FIFA. After PES 2017 provided one of the best footie games in recent memory, PES 2018 is predictably about refinement, really polishing that core experience to a glimmering shine. And on that front, it most definitely succeeds.
The result is a more realistic, slightly slower game on the pitch that's no less tight and responsive than its predecessor, throwing in some neat, iterative tweaks to make for an even more intuitive and fluid experience. In gameplay terms, yes, PES 2018 remains stellar, making meaningful progression over PES 2017 in the gameplay stakes, thanks in part to the new 'REAL Touch +' system, which ensures players behave appropriately when receiving the ball using their chest, head, legs or feet. Having complete control over the action is once again, PES's speciality.
The keepers are still capable of acrobatic leaps.
In its ongoing quest to achieve complete realism, Konami has also overhauled the animation system for PES 2018, while improving the lighting and apparently going into greater detail on “over 20,000 components” including things like turf, pitch hoardings, the tunnels that players run out of at the start of the match, and the other incidental bits of the game's various stadia.
So, yeah, yeah, PES 2018 looks wonderful and all, the player likenesses are superb once again, and the attention to detail really shines through. But again, it's the quality of the football itself that makes PES 2018 stand out.
Which is why it's a bit of a shame that in terms of new modes and other additions, PES 2018 feels like a bit of a retread. Certainly, the numerous improvements all add up to make for a better game, but is it worth upgrading if you're still playing PES 2017? I'm not so sure. Where FIFA 17 marked the beginning of EA attempting to push things forward a little bit with its story-driven career mode, PES seems content to keep on adding to and improving what's already there. This is all well and good, but something completely new and interesting would have made PES feel far fresher.
As it is, you can rely on the PES staples of Master League, myClub and Become a Legend, as well as the licensed UEFA Champions League stuff, to provide hours of deep and involving football, covering all aspects of the game from carving out a rep as a player or managing a team. However, this is nothing we haven't seen and done several times before, and the various additions to each mode don't really do much to alleviate the sense of deja vu. Even the menus look exactly the same.
Thankfully, Master League remains as engrossing as ever, tasking you with once again building your fledgling club from the ground up, while myClub gives FIFA Ultimate Team a run for its money, despite failing to replicate the thrill of opening packs with players instead acquired by signing them through scouts and agents you earn after each match. Become a Legend is still great too, shifting the game to the perspective of a custom or existing player who you'll take through an entire career. There's no faulting the wealth and quality of the modes and content on offer here, but it's all too familiar.
Liverpool and Arsenal are this year's licensed Prem teams.
This familiarity is PES 2018's primary issue. Like the uniformly awful commentary from stalwarts Peter Dreary and Jim Boglin, throwing up gems like “high class goalkeeping there to back up his high class wage.” What? The core modes and substandard commentary remain as you'd expect, but it's worth reiterating that PES 2018 really does have it where it counts, delivering on the pitch with one of the most immediate and realistic games of football to date. Set pieces have been fleshed out, the referees punish cynical, dangerous tackles accordingly - although some card decisions can be slightly arbitrary at times – and penalties have also undergone a positive change.
There's a lot of good stuff worth shouting about in this year's PES, and the new additions make for a more satisfying footie game, even if none of it feels like a particularly significant stride forward for the series. It all counts for something. Online too, PES 2018 carves a familiar furrow, with the same options and modes to choose from, and again, it all works just fine. Or at least it did when we last checked. In myClub, you can simulate matches against other players, or go head-to-head, and being able to set parameters for the quality of the connection you're matched with helps to ensure that things are as smooth and stable as possible.
Another strong entry for PES, in PES 2018 Konami has once again delivered a sublime game of football that's fluid, immediate and every bit as gratifying as last year's game. And that's the thing: PES 2018 doesn't seem like a major step forward for the series, and with the lack of licenses continuing to hold it back somewhat, Pro Evo is in real danger of settling into too comfortable a groove. For PES 2019, Konami would do well to shake things up a bit.
Whether you'll like the soundtrack is entirely subjective, but it's fine for the most part. As for the commentary, it's dire yet again, bringing out some truly stupid phrases that would never be uttered by any commentator ever. The match day atmosphere is spot on, though.
Unparalleled player likenesses (mostly for the big players), fantastically atmospheric stadia, genuine attention to detail throughout, PES 2018 looks great. The only thing lacking is the licenses.
As sublime as PES 2017, but more so. However, as an incremental improvement over last year's game, I can't really see any justifiable reason as to why you'd get PES 2018 if you already own PES 2017. It's better, but only slightly better.
All of the usual modes are present and correct, which means there's nothing particularly new here. The menus are the same, the presentation on the whole is mostly the same and all of the content is pretty much identical to what was included in PES 2017. It's all good, but very familiar.
Hold on a second. We recognise this list. It's the same bloody list from last year! Lazy!
On the pitch, PES 2018 still delivers big with a footie game that remains the best around. Unfortunately a lack of anything truly innovative holds it back somewhat, as does the continuing shortage of licenses. Next year, PES needs to go big or go home.

PES 2018: How to get all the official kits and badges with an option file.
Here’s how to get fully-licensed teams on PS4 and PC in Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, plus where to find the best option files.
If you’re a PES 2018 fan you’re probably used to the grumbles surrounding the Pro Evolution Soccer series’ lack of licensed kits and badges but, thankfully, there’s an easy-to-install patch for PC and PS4 fans (Xbox One owners are out of luck, I’m afraid, although you can manually edit team names, kits and badges, as we outline below) to get the brand spanking-new kits and badges. All updated for the 2017/18 season, too, which is handy. Don't worry, the option file is easy to install, and we'll walk you through the process, which will take 15 to 30 minutes tops. Best of all, the results are genuinely incredible, negating any FIFA envy. Here’s how to get the option file onto PES 2018 so you’re raring to go.
UPDATE: October 5th, 2017. Where can you find the best option files? How does the official Data Pack affect your edited teams and kits?
Konami have just released official Data Pack 1 which updates 100 player faces (loving the new Luis Suarez), adds new Master League cut scenes, new kits for Atletico Madrid and A.S. Roma, plus more updated boots and kits. Data Pack 1 should automatically-download and – at the time of writing – doesn't appear to affect any changes made by option file downloads. Which is very good news indeed. Data Pack 2 is mooted for a mid-November release.
Want a good, all-in-one, PS4 option file? Try the PES Universe V1 option file , with the real names and kits for the Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, La Liga and Serie A. It's free and no registration is required.
The PES Universe option files feature all major teams, leagues and kits, but some are unlocked via a tiered membership service, with different levels of access requiring a fee. Bronze membership is free, but requires a sign up. Silver membership is £5 for 10 months, and Gold membership £10 for 10 months. Follow @PESUniverse on Twitter for updates on their servers and option file. We'll keep you updated as more patches and option files appear. Please share your findings in the comments below.
What you'll need:
· An internet connection.
Step-by-step guide to installing an option file (PS4)
· First things first, format your USB drive to FAT32. Right-hand click on your USB device and go to Properties to check if it is/isn’t in FAT32 format already. Follow the instructions if not; it’s nice and straightforward.
· This next bit is important: create a separate folder on your USB device and name it WEPES. Some option files, like PES World, automatically create this folder structure for you when you unzip their download.
· Go to your website of choice for option files and PES 2018 patches. PESUniverse, in many people's eyes, are the best the internet has to offer for consistent updates, but feel free to look around. PES World are also offering regularly updated option files, and their site is easier to navigate (head to the Downloads section).
· Once there, download an option file (most places come with detailed instructions in case you get stuck) and pop the unzipped files – use WinRAR if needs be – into the WEPES folder. Please note: if you're using the PES World option files, they require a separate download for each league, which unzip to create their own WEPES folder. You need to aggregate the files for each league into one central WEPES folder on your USB stick.
· Next, place your USB into your PS4 and fire up PES 2018. Easy-peasy.
· Go to the Edit screen and make your way to Data Management and then, finally, the Import/Export screen.
· Hit Import Team and make sure all boxes are checked on the Select File page.
· The Detailed Setting page after that needs to have all three boxes unticked – then go for it.
· Once the option file works its magic (it’ll take around 5-10 minutes), be sure to save in the Data Management screen at the very end.
· If you’ve only downloaded kits, badges, and names (or if that’s all you want) then you’re finished. Go play. If not, make your way back to the Data Management screen to upload those pesky competition logos.
· Go to Import/Export and click Import Images. Find the Competition Emblems option and tick all of the logos you want to import then press OK. Voila!
· Finally, stick some music on because you’ve got to add the competition logos manually. Find the Competitions menu on the Edit screen and match the logos you’ve downloaded to the correct competitions. (Be sure to Google the images - you don’t want to mix up your La Liga 123 and your Serie Bs!) All done!
Step-by-step guide (PC)
· Find a PC-specific PES 2018 patch (don’t expect one straight away, though!)
· Run the installer upon download – though it goes without saying be wary of malicious files. Always check around for the safest option file.
· The installer should then ask for a folder to install the files to. Save them to your /Steam/SteamApps/Common/Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 folder.
· And that’s it! Easy, right? No more Man Blue for you ever again.
What do I do if I'm an Xbox One owner?
Do you want the bad news or the worse news? The bad news is that, as Xbox One doesn’t support USB data transfers into games, there’s no way you can download option files or patches. The worse news? You can have the correct kits, badges, team names etc etc but you’ll have to do it all manually. Team names are easy enough (see below) but the kits and badges will take much, much longer and probably require some sort of fancy art degree. Sorry about that.
Will it work online?
Unfortunately not. Don’t worry, everyone plays as Barca anyway.

PES 2018 Review.
GameSpot Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 Reviews PC and PS4 and PS3 and X360 and XONE.
A game of two halves.
by Oscar Dayus on September 15, 2017.
Developing a series for a yearly release must be a tricky business. In the space of just a few months, you need to make everything look nicer and produce meaningful gameplay strides (and even think of some new buzzwords to put on the back of the box). With PES 2018, Konami's annual soccer game looks and sounds a little too similar to last year's edition--the presentation is flat and its lack of licenses is an ongoing problem--but some excellent on-pitch tweaks are enough to make PES 2018 the most satisfying football game ever made.
The most noticeable change is a distinct reduction in the game's speed. That applies to both the ball and player movement, meaning matches have an altogether more methodical pace to them. Players sprint and turn more slowly, and therefore do so far more realistically. Crucially, however, everything feels just as responsive as before.
Combined with a number of new animations, the slower pace lends each kick a greater sense of weight. It also means, when you lose the ball, it usually takes longer to get it back, which can frustrate--especially when defending has not improved meaningfully in a couple of years now. Individual tackles can feel clunky, and opposition strikers are given too much space by their markers when receiving the ball to feet--Mourinho would be having none of it.
Despite PES shifting down a gear, however, its mechanics still allow you to pull off some spectacular maneuvers. Passes feel more satisfying than ever, rising and curling and dipping oh so beautifully. They're aided by better positioning of wide men, allowing more opportunities to pick out players with pinpoint cross-field balls--too often in PES 2017 I would try a million-dollar pass to a winger that would inevitably get cut out by the full back. Now, rather than being a delightful shortcut to losing possession, these Hollywood balls are a legitimate tactic. Ground passes are now executed with greater variety, meanwhile: your players will contextually change from spraying the ball with the outside of the boot to curling with the inside to punting with the toe to tapping to flicking to threading.
Passing's versatility allows you to produce some beautiful football: play with Barcelona and you can actually play like Barcelona --but it also means you can lump it to the big man up top or play it wide and get crosses in if a particular match or situation demands it. Changes to your attacking intent level, for example, affect how deep your team sit more than ever--set it to maximum and your biggest defender will act as an emergency striker. This then allows you to play direct if you're losing in the final stages of an important match.
This is especially helpful from set pieces, which have been reworked to allow you to pick different tactics depending on the situation. You can now choose to send your center backs forward for long free kicks, for example, and hope for a knock down. Or, from corner kicks, you can ask for two players to come short or for your entire team to line up on the edge of the box before making a late dash to the back post. Direct free kicks have been improved, too, and they now feel more intuitive and more fluid--and I'm finally able to score from them.
Players also shield the ball and stumble past opponents more realistically, not only helping you hold on to the ball but also making them feel more like players , not just dots on a screen. This makes it all the more disappointing, then, that goalkeepers still act like robots: their static animations and inconsistent saves might be a little better than last year, but they still shatter the illusion that you're controlling a real-life team and serve as a reminder that you're playing a video game.
However, that's a minor sticking point compared to the licenses--or lack thereof. Of the world's major leagues, only the French and Italian leagues are licensed in PES, with the Premier League, EFL, and the Spanish leagues only included in make-believe form. As is traditional with Pro Evo, teams are replicated with fake kits and pretend team names like Man Blue (Manchester City), London FC (Chelsea), and MD White (Real Madrid), while the German league is not present in any form. Worse, the kits are often wildly different to the real-life versions they're meant to be imitating. The Champions League is licensed, but the magic of reaching it with your favorite team is killed if, rather than playing as Manchester United, you're actually controlling Man Red--playing in black. Thankfully, it's relatively easy, with the help of the community and a USB stick, to mod in authentic kits on PS4 and PC--and this can help mitigate many of PES's gripes as it appears when you insert the disc for the first time. Xbox One users, however, are stuck with the likes of West Glamorgan City and Merseyside Blue for good.

The lack of attention paid to how kits look is reflected in the game's presentation as a whole. While PES's main rival, FIFA, replicates the experience of watching soccer on TV pretty closely, Pro Evo 2018 looks somewhat flat by comparison. Player models look largely fine (and some obscure players have surprisingly accurate faces), but crowds appear like cardboard cut-outs and sound almost as fake as they look--cheers when you score and moans when you miss sound muted, while chants are just a cacophony of noise with no discernible tunes or words. Peter Drury and Jim Beglin's awful, stilted, disjointed commentary returns, with a cliche-ridden dialogue library that contains few new lines and zero extra excitement. These complaints are not new to PES 2018 of course, but as EA continues to make strides in these areas with FIFA, PES's continued poor sights and sounds are put in starker contrast with every passing year.
The same is, to an extent, true of PES's online offering. MyClub is Konami's answer to FIFA Ultimate Team, and this year its big new feature is 3v3 co-op online play, a mode in which you sacrifice most of the control in return for some laughs with your friends. You and your teammates each contribute a few players to a combined squad, which the three of you then control in the match, sharing the rewards at the end. However, far too often PES is unable to connect enough human players to the lobby, meaning rather than simply giving me full control or searching again, I was dumped into the worst-of-both-worlds option of controlling one third of an otherwise AI-controlled team. It's not quite the fun addition it should be, especially when I was occasionally subject to some egregious input lag when playing online.
Far too often PES is unable to connect enough human players to the lobby.
The offline, single-player-focused Master League, meanwhile, makes strides in some areas while remaining infuriating in others. The new menu layout is a welcome change that makes the mode easier to navigate, but Master League as a whole still contains a number of glaring oddities that need to be addressed next year. Youth teams are still littered with unknown players whose names were seemingly assembled by a monkey on a typewriter (those well-known Liverpool prodigies Fighejlani and Tzarqamilov are my favorites); wage budgets and salaries are still displayed in yearly terms rather than weekly; and transfer budgets are still criminally low--while PSG were out spending £150m / $200m on Mbappe and £200m / $270m on Neymar in real life this summer, I was restricted to just £50m / $67m in total with them in PES 2018. Thankfully, a couple of neat touches such as customizable training regimes and release clauses in players' contracts do add some depth, and the new Challenge Mode keeps things interesting with unexpected scenarios like players wanting to leave.
Thankfully, I think I have a new favorite way to play PES. Random Selection Mode returns from Pro Evo 6, and if--like me--you can't remember all the way back to 2006, it shakes things up wonderfully. You and a friend (who has to be in the same room, as the mode is local only) are each handed a squad of random players from a selection of leagues or countries you choose, so you might end up with a weird hybrid team of players from across the world of varying standards. What follows is a psychological battle of attempting to steal your opponent's star players while protecting your own. Up to three trade rounds allow you and your friend to pick a player from the other person's team who you want to pinch. You then pick a player from your own squad who you want to protect, and one you want to get rid of. Crucially, at no point until after all three are chosen do either of you know who the other person has picked, leading to a tense moment at the end of the round where it's revealed if you've successfully robbed that 92-rated striker your lucky friend got dealt. Manage to steal their top player and the bragging rights are all yours--at least until they manage to win the following match against the odds, that is.
It's a small addition that some people may never even see, let alone try, but it's the best silly party mode I've seen in a soccer game since FIFA 12 unceremoniously ditched Lounge Mode. Along with (slightly) improved player stamina and (also slightly) improved goalkeeper animations, it's one of a few unglamourous but nonetheless important changes Konami has made this year. Another of these, a simple gray marker that shows which player you'll switch to next when you press L1 / LB, is a tiny masterstroke, and one that seems so obvious I'm now kind of annoyed I didn't think of it sooner myself.
When you get onto the pitch, no other football game feels as good as PES 2018.
PES 2018, then, is the proverbial game of two halves. Off the field, it's sorely lacking; online modes and server issues leave much to be desired, and the game's presentation as a whole is lagging behind the competition--even if the PES community produces some sterling work in recreating the unlicensed kits every year.
And yet, when you get onto the pitch, no other football game feels as good as PES 2018. The slower pace is a definite improvement, helping tread the line between realism and fun near-perfectly. There's just something about the players' movement and the kinds of arcs the ball makes in the air that's just so pleasant to control--every pass, header, and shot just feels right . And when it clicks, and you score a thunderous strike from the edge of the area or finish off a slick passing move or even when you launch an ugly long ball forward to grab a last-gasp winner, it's the closest feeling you'll get to being out there scoring yourself.
