Xbox One Exklusivtitel "Scalebound" eingestellt.

“As we enter into 2016, we want to provide you with an update on Scalebound, the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive action-RPG that lets you fight alongside a fearsome dragon named Thuban.
Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.
In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.
We know you’re excited to see more and thank you for your patience. Scalebound is a truly special project that’s been several years in the making, and we are very proud and inspired by all the work our team has done so far.
We will be sharing more about our vision for Scalebound later this year and can’t wait to give you a closer look at the world of Draconis and the incredible creatures and experiences we’re building.”
Platinum Games ist aktuell noch neben Scalebound mit der Entwicklung von Nier: Automata, für Square Enix und Star Fox Zero für Nintendo beschäftigt.

PS4 vs. Xbox One: Who Will Shine in 2016?
Round 3 is upon us.
It’s been an interesting time since the launch of both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. When they were first revealed, it seemed as if their fate was sealed. The PS4 captured everyone’s eye with its interesting new DualShock controller, stance against DRM, lower price point, and focus on games. The Xbox One, on the other hand, had a much more difficult sell. It was all about the need to provide every single type of entertainment and that left it feeling like gaming took a back seat. At the same time, the confusion surrounding the always online thing, and the fact that the Kinect drove up the price even if you didn’t want one made it pretty undesirable in the beginning.
At first, it was a complete head start for Sony’s brand new console, but over time, things would change. It wouldn’t be so clear cut anymore as things began to even out on the offerings front. And that leads us to the beginning of 2016, where both of the current console juggernauts are ready to make waves in new and exciting ways. But the question is: who will shine between the two?

WHAT IS THE SOLUS PROJECT ?
A singleplayer survival and exploration experience.
for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 - as well as Vive/Oculus/PSVR support.
A single player exploration and survival experience, played in first person and developed in Unreal Engine 4. Set on a mysterious and seemingly uninhabited alien planet.
Earth has been destroyed and mankind lingers on in a small fleet of ships near Pluto. As humanity's last hope, you are sent to scout a distant planet as a potential location for a colony. After years of space travel disaster strikes however, and your ship is destroyed when approaching the planet.
FEATURES CONTINUED.
Plants grow and rot. Ocean tide based on the moon. Your body responds to everything from getting wet to lack of sleep to walking uphill to the humidity. Hundreds of upgrades to be found. Secret areas within secret areas within secret areas.
Your death means the end of mankind. Save us and rebuild a communication device to phone home, by scavenging useful items.
Be a pioneer, an archeologist, and an astronaut to explore a mysterious alien planet. The adventure has a beginning and an end, but it is a harsh world. A mistake will cost you your life.
Many kilometers/miles of alien islands, caves, and tombs.
Spiritual successor to The Ball. Same universe, same backstory, same atmosphere.
THE PLANET.
Gliese-6143-C is a harsh and barren planet, covered by a vast ocean. Days are over 45C/113F, and nights under -30C/F.
5 islands, with a shallow sea between them and connected through a system of caves. To travel from one island to the next you must traverse these dark caverns.
The spaceship in which you arrived crashed on arrival, and its debris is scattered across the world. Find and locate debris sites to find additional resources.
Megalithic tombs are all over. Clearly you were not the first intelligent being to have set foot on this planet. Who was here before? Where did they go? What happened?
Scale the game as you wish. Go from a super hardcore experience to a relaxing stroll on an alien planet. In fact you can cheat oldschool console style even. It is your time, your experience.
Very little handholding. No obvious enemies. No combat. No characters. It is just you. All alone by yourself.
Fond memories of games from 10, 20 years ago? So do we. Complex level layouts. Dozens of secret areas. Keys to unlock doors. Underground indoor environments.
There are hundreds and hundreds of things to find hidden away in the world. Secret areas the size of modern "next gen levels". Secrets within secrets. Just how deep does the rabbit hole go?
Puzzle your way through environmental puzzles left by an alien civilization.
The Solus Project is the brainchild of Sjoerd "Hourences" De Jong. As a one-man army he crafted the vision for the game and a large part of the game's looks. Sjoerd has over 13 years of experience in the industry and has worked for a range of large and small studios such as Starbreeze, Epic Games, Guerrilla Games, Digital Extremes, and many more.
The studio focuses on creating high quality and immersive single player experiences. The Ball won the PC Gamer USA Action / Adventure Game of the Year 2010 award. Unmechanical was awarded Best Artistic Achievement at the Nordic Game Conference.

Nier: Automata will be optimised for PS4 Pro, Xbox One version not ruled out.
By Sherif Saed, 14/11/2016 19:12 GMT.
Nier: Automata will support PS4 Pro while maintaining smooth 60 frames-per-second.
Nier: Automata, the Platinum Games-developed sequel to the original PS3 and Xbox 360 action game, will take advantage of the upgraded power in the PS4 Pro.
Game producer Yosuke Saito confirmed to Game Rant that the game will make the jump while maintaining its 60fps frame-rate target, and will see resolution improvements. Saito did not say if Automata will reach a 4K resolution, or whether or not the image will be upscaled from a lower resolution.
As for Xbox One, Saito wasn’t able to outright confirm a port for Microsoft’s console, but he did say that it’s not out of the question. How successful the PC and PS4 versions end up being, will influence this decision, according to Saito.
Nier: Automata will be released February 23 on PC, and PS4.

Nintendo Switch doubles Xbox One’s upcoming exclusives list.
The Nintendo Switch may not be releasing till 3 March, but already it has more exclusive games in its pipeline than the Xbox One.
It’s no secret that the PlayStation 4 is having a good run of it in this console generation. Its diverse catalogue of games and vast number of partner studios has helped Sony win gamers over to the point where it has sold double the amount of consoles as Microsoft’s Xbox One, and more than triple that of Nintendo’s Wii U. Nintendo has already hit the eject button on the eighth generation of consoles, with its follow-up to the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch, arriving on 3 March worldwide. We’ve had a chance to go hands-on with the machine, and while it is undoubtedly fun and offers an experience unlike anything we have seen before, time will tell whether it will be a hit with consumers.
Whatever happens, given the anticipation and the arrival of both new Zelda and Super Mario games, the company is in for a better year with the Switch than it ever had with the Wii U. For Microsoft, however, the road ahead remains unclear. Quickly falling out of favour with indie and third-party developers due to the large disparity in install base between the Xbox One and PS4, and with a threadbare roster of developers working exclusively on a new console, times are looking bleak. Towards the end of 2017 the new, enhanced Project Scorpio console may reinvigorate interest in the Xbox One, but it’s quite possible by then the horse will have bolted. In fact, the Switch could be hot on its heels.
At the turn of the year, I published an article which compared all the exclusive games currently announced for the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The result was stark, with the PS4 outweighing the Xbox One 88 exclusives to 18. Since then the news has gotten worse. Scalebound, a high-profile Xbox One exclusive, has been cancelled and Phantom Dust is now no longer in the pipeline for release.
Meanwhile, a stack of new games have been announced for the Switch. When I updated the exclusives comparison, the equation had changed dramatically. The PlayStation 4 still dominated with 90 exclusives incoming, with the Xbox One now sitting at just 16. The Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, has jumped to 31 known exclusives - and that’s assuming the announced but untitled FIFA game isn’t a spin-off.
The argument, of course, is quality over quantity, but when trying to reach a demographic as wide-ranging as gaming, diversity is also key. We’re big fans of Microsoft’s Xbox One console and hope that this comparison will help kick-start some activity and announcements From Microsoft well ahead of the release of Project Scorpio.
