Schon lange vor dem Release der aktuellen Microsoft-Konsole wurde spekuliert, ob man auf der Xbox One Xbox 360-Spiele nutzen kann. Gab es zunächst enttäuschte Gesichter, hat Microsoft auf der E3 die Bombe platzen lassen: Die Xbox One ist seit 2015 abwärtskompatibel. Nachfolgend findet ihr die Liste der abwärtskompatiblen Xbox 360-Spiele für die Xbox One.
Die Abwärtskompatibilität für Xbox 360-Spiele auf der Xbox One wird es nicht für alle, aber dennoch für ein hohe Anzahl älterer Spiele, darunter viele Klassiker, geben.

Zur Einführung der Xbox One-Abwärtskompatibilität werden schon einige brauchbare Titel unterstützt, darunter Assassin’s Creed II, Borderlands, Mass Effect und allen voran Fallout 3. Das Angebot soll stetig erweitert werden. Inzwischen haben auch Highlights wie Red Dead Redemption den Weg auf die Xbox One gefunden. Xbox One wird abwärtskompatibel: Xbox 360-Spiele auf der One nutzen (Update Juni 2o17)
Habt ihr in der Vergangenheit Titel der alten Konsolengeneration über Xbox Live digital gekauft, können die kompatiblen Spiele künftig auch auf der Xbox One heruntergeladen und gespielt werden. Auch für DVD-Versionen wird es die Abwärtskompatibilität geben. Hier müsst ihr das entsprechende Spiel in das Xbox One-Laufwerk legen. Anschließend steht ebenfalls eine digitale Version des Xbox 360-Spiels zum Download bereit. Alle Xbox One-Funktionen, wie das Erstellen von Screenshots per Kinect oder das Streaming von Spielen auf Windows 10 sollen auch mit den alten Titeln verfügbar sein. Inzwischen gibt es auch eine umfangreiche Liste mit den Xbox 360-Spielen, die zum Start des Features auf der Xbox One spielbar sein werden.
Die Liste ist selbstredend noch nicht final. Nach dem Update wird die Anzahl der verfügbaren Xbox One-Games regelmäßig erweitert. Immer wieder wird ein neuer Schwung an abwärtskompatiblen Spielen angekündigt Zudem sind seit dem 12. November 2016 auch „Games with Gold“-Spiele von der Xbox 360 auf der Xbox One verfügbar.
Immer wieder wünschen sich Fans die Abwärtskompatibilität in einer Konsole. So soll es zahlreiche verärgerte Käufer der PS4 geben, die nicht auf dieses Feature zugreifen können. Aber werden die alten Spiele auch gespielt? Der Marketing-Chef von Sony, Jim Ryan, verwies auf das mangelnde Interesse, PS1-Spiele auf der aktuellen Sony-Konsole zu starten, so dass man keine Abwärtskompatibilität implementiert habe. Ars Technica hat einige Xbox-Live-Daten ausgewertet und kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass tatsächlich nur 1,5 Prozent der Spielzeit mit der Xbox One auf abwärtskompatible Spiele zurückzuführen sind. Nachdem das Feature zum Start noch ordentlich genutzt wurde, hat das Interesse stark nachgelassen. Wie sieht das bei euch aus? This game was honest my favorite call of duty out of all of them. I met so many friends on mw3 and I would always grind on the game and not a singalong moment was a bad memory. please put this game up for compatibility. This game was perfect.

How do I use Xbox One Backward Compatibility?
The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the “Ready to Install” section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has downloaded to your hard drive, users will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play.
Does backward compatibility cost extra?
Xbox One Backward Compatibility is free and allows you to play select Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games you already own on Xbox One.
Is Xbox Live Gold required for backward compatibility?
Xbox Live Gold is not required for Xbox One Backward Compatibility. However, it is required for any standard Xbox Live Gold feature like online multiplayer.
Will functionality for the Original Xbox games via Xbox One Backward Compatibility change from the Xbox 360 games in any way?
Functionality will be very similar. You can play the digital or disc-based game you own, taking advantage of Xbox One features like Game DVR and broadcasting.
Since these are the original games, not remasters, Xbox Live services such as online multiplayer and in-game marketplaces that were available on the Original Xbox, will not be available. However, offline multiplayer scenarios such as co-op, party scenarios (multiple controller on one console), and system-link are supported if they were supported on the Original Xbox. With system-link (if game supports the feature), you can play with others across Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles.
There are no Xbox achievements for Original Xbox games because this functionality was not available on the Original Xbox at that time of its release. Lastly, game saves will not transfer to Xbox One but once created on Xbox One, the game saves can transfer to other Xbox One consoles through the cloud.

Bereits seit der Xbox-Pressekonferenz auf der E3 2017 ist klar, dass die Xbox One auch abwärtskompatibel zu Spielen der ersten Xbox wird, wobei ein genauer Zeitplan noch nicht genannt wurde.
Nun hat sich der Chef der Xbox-Sparte, Phil Spencer, auf der Brazil Game Show gegenüber Gamespot zum aktuellen Stand geäußert. So sei man „ sehr nah “ an der Fertigstellung und liege im Zeitplan. Eine Liste mit entsprechenden Titel liege bereits vor, müsse aber in Zusammenarbeit mit den Partnern angekündigt werden.
Definitiv sei allerdings, dass das Feature noch in diesem Jahr starten soll. Erwartet wird unter anderem die Action-Flugsimulation Crimson Skies und Fuzion Frenzy. Die Funktionsweise des Dienstes soll übrigens in Einzelheiten noch anzukündigen sein, die Details dürften Nutzer Spencer zufolge „ recht interessant “ finden.

Today, I’m happy to unveil to you the first 104 Xbox One Backward Compatibility games. Some of my favorites are included, like the complete Gears of War catalog, Assassin’s Creed II , Fallout 3 , Borderlands , and Castle Crashers . The full list of the first 104 games is below and can also be found on Xbox.com/BackCompat. And, as I shared at Gamescom, going forward, all Xbox 360 games available through Games with Gold after Nov. 12 will be playable on Xbox One.
Our launch of 104 titles on Nov. 12 is just the beginning. You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach , Halo Wars , Call of Duty®: Black Ops 1 , Bioshock , Bioshock 2 , Bioshock Infinite , and Skate 3 . Stay tuned because this is just the beginning of a long list of Xbox 360 games that will run on Xbox One.

Xbox One owners may want to download Dirt 3 even if they don't have an Xbox 360, as the game--and all subsequent Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles, are backwards-compatible. The Xbox One update that introduces backwards compatibility support arrives on November 12.
