All user reviews. UNBIASED AND TRUTHFUL (AS POSSIBLE) REVIEW. Let me start off by saying that, yes, this game is plagued with bugs, server issues, and crashing. Somehow it manages to bypass these issues with really fun and challenging asymetrical multiplayer. It might be the lore or the fact that this game brings you together with friends in a way I haven't experienced before but you will enjoy yourself even with these issues the game has. I don't want to excuse the developers for releasing an unfinished game but try not to listen to the lower rated reviews for this game because they're written by people who can't provide pros and cons. This game has many cons but there are a lot of pros as well and if your thinking about buying just understand what the game is right now and if that doesn't bother you then go ahead do it or if you want to wait for a game with less issues then wait for future patches. Choice is yours! 287 out of 312 people found this helpful. When it's fixed 5 star easy. this game had a seriously rough start still has alot of bugs but servers are working now and when you can play there's no game more fun in my opinion. the game looks great the concept is spot on.. this game is everything Evolve wanted to be seriously fun everybody verses the monster. and when the monster is Jason Voreese the unstoppable killer of camp counselors it just Kills. every game is scary and funny at the same time, if Game of the Year was elected by how fun it is. and they iron out all the bugs this game would be my pick hands down Gun Media, and Illfonic two small Development teams should be commended for the hard work they put in over the long weekend to get the game working and for keeping everyone up to date on how things were coming along. The big triple A developers could learn a thing or two when they release their broken games. Keep up the good work Gun Media and Illfonic 👏👏👏👍 349 out of 389 people found this helpful. Fun, but needs work. The game's great when it works. Right now I'd say 1 out of every 3 games someone gets disconnected. Half the time when I get to play as Jason it crashes. Quickmatch is still not perfect. Sometimes you get in a full room, others it's just you waiting. The game glitches out randomly. You'll get killed in a cabin and end up outside. There are still some exploits that I see people using, but the majority of players are just on to have a good time and want to play fair. The game was probably rushed out because of Dead by Daylight releasing so close to it. It's fun, but is still suffering from a lot of issues. So you're probably thinking 3 stars is a bit generous, but I honestly love everything about the game when it's working. It's a lot of fun when everyone is communicating and working together to try to escape or survive. It's just as fun playing as Jason and trying to kill everyone. Without the problems, I'd give it 5 stars easily. Hopefully the developers work all the kinks out soon. 264 out of 294 people found this helpful. Love this game, except. This is a great game when it works. Between disconnecting games, full game crashes and quick play not working/taking five minutes plus, this game has major issues. But when I can get in a lobby that is stable this game becomes highly addictive. In all, 4 stars with its current state and is a must play. 172 out of 194 people found this helpful. Worth buying! This game deserves a better rating! Ive played this game for a long time now and I just love it. Everytime you play a match. It feels completely different! you never get a match that feel the same because youll never know when jason is coming after you. It can happen at any moment. Youll never know what you will find because sometimes you find the stuff you need in your area but sometimes you dont. Also if you hide. Youll never know if he will find you or not (TIP: stats and perks do matter/help in the game) and youll never know if you be able to Escape or not! Because sometimes jason gets everone and sometimes jason doesnt or sometimes players think for their selves and sometimes they help you. You never know and it gives you a accurate feeling like your in a actual horror movie! Its a actually well bounce game too! but the game does crash sometimes and there are some glitches but youll see them rarely and quick play does work now! The game will continue to get better❤ 102 out of 114 people found this helpful. Servers are nightmare! The game is highly enjoyable, whe you can actually play that is. 4/5 games you'll lag out of because only private matches work so it's the host connection that ultimately decides wether or not you'll get to play. Quick play doesn't work so you have to find a group to play with. Look. I get it. this was a kickstarter game made by a small team of people, but that doesn't change the fact that this game is nearly unplayable, so if you're deciding if you should drop $40 on this game DON'T, wait until they roll out new patches. 237 out of 276 people found this helpful. Great Game, Bad Servers. The game has three different map, a variety of customizable counslers, and a good number of Jasons with different pros and cons. The worst thing about the game is it's servers. Just keep in mind its made by an indie company of 10 people and they're trying their best to fix the issue. 139 out of 160 people found this helpful. Overall a fun game but still is broken. Great, fun game full of excitement and thrills. It keeps you on edge the entire match and you're constantly looking over your shoulder for Jason. But the real fun comes when you get to be Voorhees, teleporting right next to your friend and punching their head off is quite the experience. However, this game can sometimes be relatively annoying due to terrible glitches, bugs, broken abilities, and most importantly the servers. 54 out of 60 people found this helpful. 5 Stars. Why. This game has many issues that need to be fixed. The most common issue is the insane amount of crashes that you go through. Now you're probably wondering why I gave this game 5 stars if it has a lot of issues. I think that if you have patience and can get pass the bugs and crashes then you will absolutely love this game. It's thrilling, scary and always keeps the heart pumping. Friday The 13th is everything you want it to be. Props to Gun Media and ILLFonic for such a piece of art and great support. These devs actually listen. 👍🙂🙂 405 out of 490 people found this helpful. Addicting but annoying. This game would get a 5 stars for the variety of Counslors and Jasons, not to mention the thrill and horror feel to the game is amazing but far too often I or the host of the game gets lagged out or you get kicked from the game for connection issues when there are none which makes trying to enjoy the game very difficult and tedious. otherwise the game is phenomenal with thrills at every turn and a constant fear of being found that makes your heart stop with countless ways of escaping. fix the connectivity issues and you have a 5 star game (very good community as well) 102 out of 119 people found this helpful. Stalk camp counselors across Crystal Lake as Jason Voorhees, or assume the role of a helpless camper and attempt to survive the night. The multiplayer component to the game pits one player as Jason against up to seven people as counselors. While Jason can be an immensely daunting, seemingly unstoppable force, he is able to be brought down with an ‘epic’ win condition. It’ll be difficult, require some teamwork, and perhaps a bit of ingenuity, but we’ll be giving you the tools and opportunities to realize the biggest win in horror gaming. That sense of relief at the end, knowing you stopped the biggest and baddest killer in the world is not something to take lightly . and lest you be worried, Jason will always come back for more! Play as Jason Voorhees - The game you’ve been waiting for; you’ll be stalking the shadows and picking off each and every counselor as the most feared name in horror, Jason Voorhees! When playing as Jason, you make the decision of how to go about setting up and performing each kill! The game gives you a slew of abilities to terrify, harass and then brutally dispatch those opposing you. Counselors: Fight or Flight - Jason is deadly, but he can be stopped! The movie does have to end, right? You and your fellow counselors will have a multitude of ways to escape from Jason while in Camp Crystal Lake. Not satisfied with simply running? You’ll have the opportunity to try and take Jason out. Be warned, Jason won’t go down easy, and nothing is a sure thing. Make Your Own Horror - Camp Crystal Lake, Jason Voorhees and a lot of horny teenagers makes for a lot of good stories. A ‘Movie Trailer’ system plays at the end of the match, highlighting the best moments of every game, in the style of the original 1980’s trailers! Each and every time you play Friday the 13th, you’ll be creating your own little movie. Share your best trailers online with others, or watch the community's dark, grisly, or even hilarious trailers. Fear System - Jason Voorhees strikes fear into every single person he comes across, and while many bravely attempt to take him on, most fail. The fear of never knowing where Jason is at any given time is powerful, and counselors will have to do everything they can to mitigate that fear while playing. Get too struck with fear and you’ll start to question what’s real and what isn’t. Progression - Friday the 13th is a long-running franchise, one with a whole cast of characters. Players will get a unified progression system to unlock multiple Jason character models from the classic films, as well as additional Camp Counselors with their own unique stats and traits. Friday the 13th: The Game. The idea of an asymmetrical multiplayer game focused on one of the greatest horror movie villains of all-time sounds absolutely perfect. Friday the 13th has been plagued with a number of issues since it first launched in May, but a new patch will hopefully put many of its problems on Xbox One to bed. Developer IllFonic and publisher Gun Media have announced the update is out now and available to download on your Xbox One. According to a joint statement from the two companies, the developer has "significantly reduced crash instances and performed a major sweep on bugs that have been persistent with the Xbox version." They went on to apologize for how long this patch has taken to arrive, before adding that they believe "this patch will greatly increase playability and bring the game in line with other platforms." The patch notes are essentially a list of bug fixes that pertain to matchmaking, crashes, and more. Additionally the Xbox One's memory issues, which hindered a previous update from being released on time on the platform, have now been resolved. Take a look at the full patch notes at the bottom of this article. In our Friday the 13th review, Peter Brown wrote, "As of now, a week after launch, it's short on content and performs poorly all around, especially on consoles. The story goes that the developers weren't prepared for amount of people who wanted to jump on day one, but that does little to assuage players who were convinced that they were paying for a finished product. Despite showing potential that may one day be realized, Friday the 13th comes across as an unfinished game that shouldn't have been released in its current state."

Friday the 13th xbox one

Jason is very difficult to kill, but there is a way to kill him. However, it is something that you will not be able to do every single match, but it is still an option over repairing a car. There are a few requirements before you can kill Jason. Successfully complete the following tasks to kill Jason: Remove Jason's mask: To knock off Jason's mask, you need a heavy weapon such as a baseball bat. Repeatedly hit Jason's head (it is recommended for more than one player to do this). After enough hits, the mask will fall off. Once it falls, grab it and run away. Sweater location: The sweater is located inside Jason's shack. While some counsellors are trying to knock off Jason's mask, the female counsellor must be looking for the shack. The female counsellor must wear the sweater. A counsellor must die: The next step is to have Tommy Jarvis wear the mask. To do that, you will first have to contact him. To contact Tommy, go to the cabin with the radio tower. Inside the cabin, look for the ham radio and contact him. Once you have contacted Tommy, one counsellor needs to die. They will then respawn as Tommy. Have Tommy Jarvis wear the mask/stun Jason: When Tommy arrives, give Jason's mask to him. Tommy is the only one who can kill Jason. Tommy will need a machete to kill Jason. Look for a machete in the area, but be careful since Jason will be looking for you. Once you have the machete, the female counsellor will need to approach Jason and interact with him. Jason will try to kill the female counsellor, but she will talk to him and will stun him. Tommy kills Jason: Once he is stunned, have someone knock Jason to his knees by hitting him from behind with a weapon. Once he is on his knees, Tommy will have to approach Jason with the machete and interact with him. A cutscene will then play and Tommy will kill Jason. Repairing a car is one the main ways to exit the camp and win the game. Repairing a car is not an easy task, as you must have specific components to fix it. Each map has two cars that can be repaired in order to use them to escape. First, locate a car by looking at the map. While it is possible to repair the car alone, it is recommended to work with the other counsellors. To repair the car, you need the keys for the car, gas can, and car battery. To locate these items, explore the cabins in the area near where the car was found. You will often find the car keys in drawers, but not always. Car keys are the easiest to manage of all three items required to repair the car since they only require one slot. The gas can and car battery can be found in one of the cabins on the ground. So basically you have to go through some cabins in the area surrounding the car. Once you find either the gas can or battery, make sure to go to the car and start repairing it, which requires you to play a mini-game. Also, you will be stuck in one position while playing the mini-game. Thus, it is recommended to have other counsellors with you so they can distract Jason from killing you as you repair the car. To install the battery, go to the open hood of the car and interact with it to play the mini-game. The mini-game is essentially a circle with various bars inside. Each bar acts as an action prompt where you have to press whichever button indicator appears. Additionally, you will have to time the button prompt correctly in addition to just pressing it as each wrong move alerts Jason and depending how many mistakes you make, you might need to flee from the area after installing the part. Once you have successfully completed the mini-game and the parts are installed, get inside the car and start the car using the car keys. However, there is a delay in starting the car -- so if Jason is near you, you may want to wait a bit for him to go away. Once the car starts, drive through the camp's front gates onto the main road. Also, be careful while driving the car, as hitting an object will damage it and you will have to start the car again with the delay. Jason can also spawn in front of the car and will try to stop the car using his body; avoid Jason by driving around him, as hitting him will not damage or stun him. Friday the 13th xbox one

By Denise See Jul 30, 2017 | 1:51 PM. Facebook/Fridaythe13thGame An Xbox One patch has been released for 'Friday the 13th: The Game.' "Friday the 13th: The Game" fans will be happy to know that a new patch has been released, and it fixes a number of issues that have plagued the game since its release in May. Gun Media and Illfonic announced via a statement that the Xbox One patch is now available. The patch solves some crashing issues and fixes a lot of bugs. The companies also revealed that more fixes are currently being worked on and will be released when they are ready. "Our sincere apologies for the time that this has taken to arrive, but we will be monitoring the patch and are already working on additional fixes," the statement read. "We believe this patch will greatly increase playability and bring the game in line with other platforms." The announcement also came with some patch notes. According to the list, the patch addresses problems with memory, audio threading, matchmaking, Jason's morph cursor, different glitches, infinite stamina, perk roller UI, visibility, placement, the hiding spot exit code, host specific crashes and the DLC, among other things. Before the patch was released, fans became worried that Illfonic was not paying enough attention to "Friday the 13th: The Game" as much as they should. Some argued that the studio was focusing more time on "Dead Alliance" than fixing issues within the game. However, Illfonic boss Charles Brungardt insisted that this was not the case at all. "I wanted to address the concerns that IllFonic has abandoned Friday the 13th: The Game for Dead Alliance," Brungardt told Eurogamer in a statement. "This is 100 per cent not true. Most major and independent studios have multiple teams working on multiple projects at the same time." Brungardt went on to explain that they began developing "Dead Alliance" prior to "Friday the 13th: The Game." Additionally, Illfonic added more people to the team assigned to work on the title. The studio also launched a second office in order to focus on improving the game. It is clear that Illfonic is determined to give fans what they want, and the Xbox One patch is only the beginning. Why you shouldn't buy 'Friday the 13th' for Xbox One (at least for now) Updated July 27, 2017: A new patch has released for the Xbox One version of Friday the 13th, with bug fixes and tweaks for a majority of issues seen at launch. Late last week "Friday the 13th: The Game," a survival horror game based on the acclaimed franchise, released across console and PC. With influence from the feature films, the game takes advantage of asymmetrical multiplayer mechanics to pit Jason Voorhees against seven Camp Crystal Lake counselors. Using a similar core concept to games like "Evolve," one player takes control of the all-powerful killer while the remain seven must use the open world to survive by any means necessary. After acquiring the rights to produce an officially-licensed game, Friday the 13th soon gained a fair amount of traction via crowdfunding sites. Between its Kickstarter and BackerKit listings, the game accumulated more than two million dollars in funding, drawing only more attention to the project going forward. With over twelve thousand backers on the Kickstarter alone, it's fair to say a reasonable amount of people are invested in the project. Xbox One owners are running an older (and inferior) version of the game. Now the release day has come and gone, Friday the 13th's launch has gone far from smoothly. Server issues have rendered matchmaking useless, a slew of bugs disrupt the core gameplay and at this point, opinions on the game are rather mixed. Even the game's distribution on Xbox One ended up being rather chaotic – going live on the console hours after the expected launch. Since these launch issues, it's now come to light that Friday the 13th's Xbox One owners are running an older (and inferior) version of the game. As pointed out by a user on the official Friday the 13th forums, both PC and PlayStation 4 versions currently sport different assets and even some minor new features, leaving the Xbox One version as a clearly second-rate version. Founder and Creative Director at Gun, Wes Keltner, has since confirmed the game is yet to receive an approved day one patch, which brings the game up to a state they planned for launch. Although some of these issues may have been out of the developer's control, the game isn't rocking the best reputation right now. Overall, Friday the 13th has suffered a messy release – and that not even touching on the gameplay it offers. There's an understandable amount of anger in the air from Kickstarter backers, as well as those who picked up the full-priced title at launch. And with the recent news of the Xbox One version, it's probably best to keep your distance until fixes have been rolled out. Nevertheless, among these issues, it's reassuring to see the official Friday the 13th Twitter account active with status updates and support over the past few days. While some developers essentially go into hiding after a rough launch, it's nice to see a clear line of communication established with fans. This doesn't excuse the launch issues, but at least keeps players in the loop for what's to come. According to the developer, the day one patch for the Xbox One version is currently undergoing certification from Microsoft. The patch has the potential to bring Xbox One owners onto a version similar to that on PlayStation 4 and PC and should fix several outstanding issues. Server tweaks are also supposedly on the way, which should elevate some of the problems currently plaguing all platforms. For now, we'll simply have to wait and see how the game changes in the coming days – which really sucks because the game has true potential. But in its current state, Friday the 13th is one to avoid. And while it may be best to hold out for the forthcoming patch, don't forget self-service refunds recently hit the Xbox Store.
